For organizational purposes, we have added a new OOC forum - Site Resources! This is where we will store guides (like the Fight Guide and the Shop Guide), tips and tricks, and other useful content from here-on-out! Also don't forget to check-out the amazing size charts that @Naya made here!
Hopefully having everything in one place makes it easier and is more intuitive.
Small reminder that we have two contests going on right now!
- Round 1 of the Trade Experience Contest ends on April 9th; and
- The Advertising Drive ends on May 1st!
As mentioned in last week's mini update, we have heard your concerns about imbalances within the trade system. After consideration by the Senior Staff team, we have decided to make changes to some of the trades, as well as their trade perks, in order to achieve a more balanced system.
Based on feedback and reflection, we have made changes to the following trades: Barbarian, Paladin, Ranger, Sleuth, and Pathfinder.
Before taking a look at the changes below, we want to make something exceptionally clear: we will be allowing everyone who is affected by these adjustments a one-time chance to change their trades and not lose their experience. We understand that this will impact dice and other perks, so we want to give everyone the opportunity to mediate the situation, if needed.
- To do this, you must post in this thread by April 23rd, 2021.
- If your dice need changing because of the adjustments, you also must post in that thread to have them adjusted. Dice under the old perks will not be grandfathered in.
- If your character is any of the following, their dice need to be changed ASAP to account for the changes: Level 3 Rangers, Level 3 Pathfinders, Level 4 Barbarians, Level 4 Paladins, Level 5 Sleuths.
- If you do not request the necessary dice updates and Staff notices, you will be given a warning and lose your dice for the fight.
- These rules apply to any fights started after this announcement. Fights started before this announcement can continue with their current dice.
The trade adjustments are as follows:
BARBARIAN
Level 4: Becomes a master of offensive attacks (+1 to hit rolls)
PALADIN
Level 4: Becomes a master of defensive attacks (+1 to dodge rolls)
Level 5: Plus 24 hrs on one round per fight (player must choose before timer ends).
MASTER PERKS:
• Take someone's place in a maim or death match without penalty (must intervene in the first round of the fight)
• Ability to act as Heir if a pride is at risk of disbandingSUB-MASTER PERKS:
• Ability to act as Heir if a pride is at risk of disbanding
RANGER
Level 3: -1 dodge roll for prey
Level 4: Negates 1 dice from size penalty
SLEUTH
Level 5: Becomes a master of evasion (+1 to luck rolls)
PATHFINDER
Level 3: 50/50 chance of discovering hidden characters in threads
Level 4: Negates 1 dice from size penalty
These changes were made after it was brought to our attention that the Ranger trade was overpowered, and that it gave more advantages to our fight system than the other more explicit fighting-based trades. In order to rectify this, all dice-based perks (other than those that are earned at Lvl.1) have been moved to Level 4. This means that your character needs to be a Master in their trade in order to get any bonus dice beyond what is offered at Level 1.
example 1: @Nymeria is a Level 3 Ranger. Now that the perk for negating size penalties has been moved to Level 4, she loses that perk and needs to post in the thread ASAP to have her dice changed. Once she reaches Ranger Level 4, she can reclaim the dice for negating her size penalty.example 2: @Nymeria is a Master Ranger and Sub-Master Medic. The Ranger trade is impacted by the update, but Medic is not. She can only swap her Ranger trade and keep the experience points. Any changes to her Medic trade will be treated as usual, and the experience will be lost.
We understand that these are significant changes for some of your characters. If you have any question, do not hesitate to reach out to Staff for help, questions, or clarification!
Over the next little while, the Staff team will be rolling out the introduction of Amaryllis' History Team!
This team will be responsible for tracking news-worthy, history-making, and impactful threads, and logging them so that the community has a progression of IC life that we can look back on for years to come! This small team will be monitored by Staff, and more details will follow.
Must be:
- Active on site;
- Read a variety of threads, other than just your own;
- Be able to work well with others; and
- Be willing to provide biweekly/monthly updates to Staff, in tandem with the rest of the History Team.
If this sounds like something that you may be interested in, or if reacted on Discord when we looked for volunteers, please send a PM to @Soul of Amaryllis ★ with 3 threads that you think have already made history on Amaryllis, and why.
As stated in our site opening announcement, characters from Valoria were able to be transferred to Amaryllis for free for the first three months.
Therefore, as of yesterday, April 1st, these characters can no longer be transferred to Amaryllis for free. Old characters can still join, but will need to be paid for in-full, just like any other character.
We understand that being on Staff is no easy feat, especially for such a large and active community. Therefore, we have decided to implement a monthly petal payroll for our amazing Staff, Sr.Staff, and Admin teams! This is to reward them for their hard work, and the time and energy that they put into keeping the site afloat.
In the name of transparency, we wanted this to be communicated clearly with the rest of community, so that everyone is on the same page. Our staff team will receive 50 petals per month for completing their Staff duties.
