December 13, 2024 After winning the challenge for Wolfbron Bluffs and becoming the fourth Dieudonné to hold the crown, Lazare releases all the members and ends the longest standing pride's reign over the island. After seven years of the Bluffs being held by the same family, it now sits empty, waiting for the next chapter of it's leadership.

December 6, 2024 Death came to a witch hunter after she called for the death of Karsa, with Kvare answering it causing Miaran to fall. Lazare Dieudonné challenges Louve Dieudonné for Wolfbron Bluffs. Snow seems to be falling in the middle of the summer as strange animals show up and offer a tempting meal for those brave enough to jump in.

November 8, 2024 Scorpius has gone missing and in his place Zaahir steps up to take the throne of Andal Oasis. How this change of leadership will shake things up in the lands, only time will tell.

October 11, 2024 Something is happening in the Scorched Wilds. There is a battle raging between a familiar force and an unfamiliar one. What will you do? Help or hinder?

October 1, 2024 Spooky things are happening as the afterlife start walking among the living once again.

September 30, 2024 Louve Dieudonné manages to keep Wolfbron Bluffs in the family. What will happen between the Bluffs and the otherwise peaceful pride of Lorien Plains?

September 20, 2024 Ilarion Rurik challenges for Wolfbron, will the Dieudonné lead pride fall?

September 8, 2024War broke out once again in the Lagoon when a wedding had some uninvited guest arrive. The war results in the most death matches the island has seen at once. The Summit was challenged by Brighid with Talisa answering the call. After many years of the Summit have the same two leaders, the Summit changes hands. What will this mean for the balance of Amaryllis? A witch hunt has started by Luther and Miaran which seems to be turning things on an island that is full of magic.

August 25, 2024 War broke out in the challenge for the Lagoon after Cassius tries to take the Lagoon from Isla. The Cove remains with Miaran. The leadership of the Mire switches from Sigrún hold to Rike when Luther comes back to take his birthland back. Elephants push into the Rainforest and push out the lions there. Soon after Lucifer lays claim to his birthland and takes over the Rainforest.

June 27, 2024 Conflict and tensions rise as prides come head-to-head with one another across Amaryllis - just as Pyrrha and Cassius take the leap to try and claim (or reclaim) their own thrones.

May 24, 2024 Rulers continue to shift, family strife ensues, and, per usual, tensions seems taunt and always lingering on the horizon.

April 24, 2024 Things are rocky within Amaryllis as the Dieudonne clash result in three deaths and forces a shift in the rulership of Firnen Rainforest. With Caladan Cove freshly overturned as well, what will the consequenecss of these events be?

March 30, 2024 The lull has ended as a long standing family, the Dieudonné, launch death matches against their own. The Plains sees a challenge from a new comer, Aphrodite, and the quite pride is pushed into the spotlight.

March 19, 2024 A momentary lull has overtaken the lands of Amaryllis as its inhabitants attempt to find their footing and rebuild after a string of challenges. How long it will last, however, nobody can be quite sure.

February 11, 2024 The Mire has fallen from the Stärke family and is now held by Luther Rike. The change has stirred but the fighting nature of those on the island. The Brook finds a new leader with Icefang and Isla takes over the Lagoon after a storm pushes out the old leader. Reti finds himself the leader of the Hollows after Alexander is hurt. The Oasis finds a new leader in Léonie who is soon tested by Harou.

January 8, 2024 The snow has finally begun to melt anew, which means that the world is slowly returning to the much-anticipated summer season. With the various holiday activities and the other jests put on by Nafasi also coming to a close, it is safe to say that winter is finally over.

December 5th, 2023 Nafasi had pulled a cruel trick and has sent Amaryllis back into a renewed winter season! But it's not all bad, because the lands will also see a handful of holiday-themed events popping up as a result. To make things more interesting, a wayward trio of travlers have also arrived and are facilitating a mass competition between the prides, bands, and rogues -- formally dubbed the Amaryllis Winter Games.

December 2nd, 2023 The spring air brings forth a number of pride challenges. A familiar challenger for the Cove and the Oasis arrive to try to earn what they want. The new leader of the Lagoon is tested in battle as well. What changes will come from the challenges? Who will remain standing and who will find their world turned upside down?

November 27th, 2023 In a challenge between mother and daughter, the leadership of Wolfbron Bluff changes for the first time in 5 IC years.

November 22nd, 2023 Two death matches, one resurrection, and an almost-war later, the lands find themselves in a constant state of turmoil and calamity. Families have been torn apart and endless blood has been spilt; but how is it all going to end?

November 3rd, 2023 The lands stir violently as a death match rages on between Aeistrios Saxe and Morrigan Greyflood. Observers spill into the pit in droves to witness what will no doubt be a historic battle -- and it is clear that this familial fued is far from over, no matter who wins and who dies.

October 12th, 2023 With winter comes the surge of more pride challenges; Ludivine challenges Ryker for Firnen Rainforest and is victorious in her endeavors, meanwhile an outcropping of maims breaks out on the sidelines. In a shocking turn of events Luther returns to challenge Bruno for Ecrosia Mire, will the former heir prove victorious or has Bruno got what it takes to keep his brother's ambitions at bay? This has undoubtedly shaken things up as Bruno declares war against Andal Oasis and Allies in the process!

TRIGGER WARNING!
This content might touch on topics that are sensitive or triggering for some readers. Trigger Warning for mentions of [intentional poisoning]

ooc: Posting order will be Icefang, Lathan, Nikandr, then Freja! Anyone else is welcomed to watch, but you must be okay with being skipped and not interfere please.

She had given Freja time to get accommodated after her surprise 'welcome home' visit to the Brook. Icefang had pondered on the trials that she would put the splotched lioness through, although she was impressed that she had already taken the initiative to lead a hunt. Perhaps she wouldn't become a burden like the high sovereign feared. She had grabbed @Nikandr as she strolled through the brook, the unfortunate soul passing by her while she was lost in thought. The night before she had spoken to @Lathan, informing him of Freja's situation and that she was in need of his assistance once again. He had spoke of wanting to test out his plants on a bigger creature than a bunny, you know to see true results and what better option than a full grown lion? Touching on his idea of bringing poisoned food to the Lagoon, Icefang had offered her secret fling a tempting offer. Test his idea on one of her members. It was a win-win situation. Lathan got a trial run while she got to see how Freja acted under stress and the extent of her medical skills.

Leading the maneless male to where Lathan stands in the brook next to a carcass they had dug out from the cache, Icefang stops and looks to Nikandr. "I need you to eat this, it will test your strength." She had filled him in briefly, not that the boy seemed to need much convincing on what his part in this experiment would be. He really was trying to earn those brownie points, not that his queen would complain about that. A+ for effort. Of course, she had told Lathan he had his pick of what poison he would use. Let Nikandr suffer if he had to, but she had ensured that he understood the poison needed an antidote and could not damage their volunteer permanently. She was fine if he was weak for the days to come, but he needed to be able to get back onto his feet as soon as possible. So, that he was ready when she needed him again.

Of course, she had also ordered Lathan to have his own antidote ready, hidden in his pouch in case Freja failed to identify the poison and render the proper remedy. Though these details had remained solely between herself and her noble. If Nikandr panicked and felt like he was really going to die, it would make the situation seem much more than a simulation. Plus she would get pleasure in seeing the horror on their faces. Maybe she would join in on it. For the drama (duh). Once Nikandr had consumed the food and the effects started to kick in, the queen issues one call for @Freja.

Oh, nurse we need some help here!

His Queen had a task for him, one that thrilled him. She had met with him the evening prior giving him his mission and Lathan had immediately departed to the deeper parts of the Brook. He had just the poison in mind that was both uncommon but with common symptoms. The antidote…that was the tricky part but he had managed to find what he needed. It was…unfortunately a liquid, it had to be collected early that morning and put into a pouch that wouldn’t leak.

The poison itself had to be prepared carefully, he was using this as a trial for the lioness @Icefang ♔ saw fit to test as well as to see how well it worked when injected into a carcass. That was the variable he did not know…as well as how to get it into the Lagoon.

He had spent many hours working on this carcass and carefully poking holes into the meat and dripping the juices of the ground up plant into the holes. In some places, he added some of the plant itself-careful not to touch- especially where the stomach contents of the herbivore had been cut open. There was already grass there..it would look no different or at least..that was the hope. He had also dropped a few seeds into the carcass, Jimsonweed Seeds, just for an extra spice.. It would cause mostly mild hallucinations… It also didn’t really have a cure, it just had to wear off, but he figured it would throw the one being tested off and he liked to watch others hallucinate.

Lathan wasn’t sure what poor lion had pissed Icefang off to be a guinea pig, he was just glad it wasn’t him. He lay waiting, the antidote stored in two separate skins. One with a liquid and the other with something tangible. He would need to act fast if this lioness could not produce a cure. He wasn’t to cause extensive damage, which had made his choice difficult. However, it would cause enough problems to make the fool (@Nikandr) wish he had not pissed her off. Burning in the mouth and throat, nausea, vomitting, diarrhea, slurred speech, swollen tongue and mouth… were the possible effects of Jack-In-The-Pulpit. He expected to see some swelling of the mouth, slurred speech and drooling, coupled with nausea and diarrhea.

Patiently, Lathan waited, guarding the carcass to make sure no others tried to eat from it. When the white Queen appeared, he would rise, bowing to her as he usually did before turning his attention to Nikandr, recognizing the boy immediately and hiding the amusement that bubbled up at the sight. This was her test subject? How amusing. She would command him to eat, stating it would test his strength. Lathan gave her her a look that said ‘really? His strength?’ Before he stepped aside, moving his pouches as he came to move beside the Queen and waited as she called for @Freja.

"At 3 hours, I will need to intervene." He muttered for her ears only. Hopefully, the woman could figure it out before then.

"Speech."

Poisons administered to the carcass/Nikandr
- Jimsonweed seeds
-- they cause mild hallucinations, dry mouth, dilated pupils
Antidote: lots of fluids and time

Jack-In-The-Pulpit
--Burning in the mouth and throat, ingestion leads to diarrhea, teary eyes, nausea, vomiting, slurred speech, tongue and swollen mouth.
Antidote: Milk, cool water, lots of fluids, charcoal if able to induce vomiting (not recommended if the patient is having difficulty swallowing). May use Oil Palm, Garden Cress (these are 2 on site that state poison antidote).

Nikandr ambles along after @Icefang ♔, lips twisted up into a little sideways smirk. He'd been poisoned before - he'd been much younger than he was now. The Law family had a hell of a raising plan for their children, after all. - but he wasn't particularly keen to relive it. Surely it wouldn't be so bad, with him being so much larger. Right? Sitting primly before the carcass he inhales deeply through his nose and rolls his eyes. @Lathan is perched there, the ever-present sentinel, and he winks in the man's direction. Can't say this is the strangest thing I've ever been asked to do, He chortles, dipping his head to cram six mouthfuls of the prey down his gullet as quick as he can. It's not so much about nerves as it is about taste.

Because, really, poison tastes like shit. Or at least, he imagines it does. Maybe it's just the prey going bad. Maybe they're just giving him food poisoning.

For a moment the three sit there while Nikan waits for the shoe to drop - and it does. Slowly. Burning starts in his mouth and then rapidly progresses, tongue swelling enough that he worries it's going to plug his throat. His eyes burn and his vision swims, pupils dilating, and stomach clenching in pain. Awh, thit. He grunts, lifting a paw to his abdomen and groaning with his too-thick tongue. Thith thucks. Dramatically ( for effect? Who knows ) he drops onto his side, then his back, clutching his stomach and pathetically groaning. He even rolls around a little bit - until the nausea swells and he has to pause to upchuck the meat he'd just eaten. Here's hoping @Freja hurries her ass along because this is not a fun afternoon for him.

And judging by the churning in his gut, it won't be a good night either.

((Hope a nosy cub is ok, 100% happy for him to be skipped to keep things going))

He follows her at a distance, he has kept close on her heels since she brought him back from the desolate passage she'd found him in. Now he was using the shadows of the Brook to stalk his faux prey, aside from that the shade protected his dark flesh from the overbearing summer sun.

Settling on his haunches the boy pressed his belly against the dusty ground, letting it cling to his blackened fur. His dark eyes peer from between a small shrub as he watched the unknown males settling, one of them sits silent as a mouse and watches - Raz gapes a little at his dark fur and it takes a lot of control to not shuffle out of his hiding place and announce himself. Erasmos had never seen a lion dark like him, though this guy wasn't quite as endlessly black as Raz.

Then the young guy, Patches, eats the meat and Raz is confused for a moment when no-one else touches it. Are they doing a ceremony? Then Patches starts to look ill and he seems to double over in pain. The melanistic cub pushes himself to his paws, was Patches dying?

Stepping out of cover the cub slowly made his way toward @Icefang ♔, his ears dipping back toward his skull as he moved close to her left foreleg and seated himself there. His head rose to look up at her as she made a call for someone he didn't know, a healer? Or was this all part of the ceremony for Patches?

Raz realised he didn't know much about how other lions live, he'd never been to any gatherings with his birth pride, always hidden away safely by his parents. Maybe this was a rite of passage or something. He trusted his new guardian, so he would follow her lead - he also secretly wanted to know more about the dark male and peered at him curiously from around Icefang's leg.

Foolishly, she had not expected it to come about so quickly.

Perhaps she should have kept her guard up, expected tests around every bend in the tree. But it had just been so nice these past days to do exactly as she'd been told and recuperate, to sleep and eat and exercise her muscles and get used to the Brook's layout and not worry about much of anything. She had gathered what medical supplies she had wanted to keep close and managed to contribute to the pride cache as she had promised. But the moment Icefang's summons rolled across the valley, she knew that her time had run out. Her leisure was nothing more than a cobweb, easily swatted away by the Queen and Freja had little choice but to answer immediately, promptly.

There was no small amount of trepidation, the anxiety thumping strongly through her veins as the mottled woman neared. Even from afar her nostrils had been desperately searching for clues; she had picked up on the distinct scents of three adults and a cub, only one of which she recognised as the Queen. The scent of stale meat and the fresher, sharp tang of vomit had caught her attention as she slipped through the undergrowth and emerged into the arena. Her mind whirled, trying to take everything in all at once. The Queen and her dark shadow, the mottled male on his back and clutching his stomach. The pile of vomit close by clearly marked him as the patient, though mismatched eyes ran with quick assessment over the dark cub seated by Icefang's leg - all seemed well.

If there was anything remotely helpful or useful to say or ask, it had all fled from Freja's mind. She supposed, in the back of her mind, the curiosity had at least something to add - did you poison him on purpose? But in reality, it didn't matter how it had happened, whether the Queen and her shadows were just innocent bystanders and had just happened upon the patchwork male in this state or whether they were the perpetrators. She gave the meat still remaining a hard look before she moved towards Nikandr's side. "Did you bring it all up, or did you eat more than this?" She asked, firmly but not harshly as she gestured to the pile of vomit he had provided. It was a relief perhaps, that he had purged himself of at least some of it.

Freja was not a poisons expert, but it was part of her job to know at least what she was dealing with. It would not help the patched male in the long run to not know what she was up against, so she turned her attention quickly to the meat that had been impregnated with seeds. She could not see the liquid that had been dripped in, but her searching nostrils ran carefully over the meat, picking out the scents that would hopefully tell her what she needed to counteract. Using the extended tip of her claw, she flicked out one of the seeds embedded within, studying it very carefully on the ground.

At @Lathan's glance regarding a test of strength, the high sovereign gives a shrug. She was a queen and she was use to not explaining herself when she gave an order. She commanded and most followed. Unless they wanted to die. That was the law. Nikandr knew there was a possibility this would suck. In the twisted way she often did things, Icefang would claim that she hadn't lied to him that being a test subject would indeed test his resolve. The boy gives his usual cocky grin and her eyebrows rise in surprise when he chucks down mouthful after mouthful of meat. A slight glance at Lathan, wondering if there was a limit on what exactly the maneless male could consume without putting himself into a grave predicament. However, Lathan had been nothing but loyal and grateful under her reign so far and as a result she would trust in her noble that he had followed her instructions to a T.

She nods at his whisper regarding when he will be forced to intervene, curious to what extent the symptoms will affect Nikandr until then. In fact, she didn't even know what the assassin had chosen nor what the Law boy was about to experience. Patiently they wait, the high sovereign silent as she regards @Nikandr with a curious stare. The first effects are not obvious, but blue orbs gleam excitedly when he has suddenly developed a lisp. Had his portion size affected how quickly the symptoms came? Ugh, so many questions plague her mind, but she is forced to wait and watch. She could discuss and have a lesson with Lathan later. Soon he is groaning and then dropping to the ground, a paw clutching his stomach as he pukes the contents of his stomach. Icefang raises her right paw in an attempt to gently cup Nikandr's cheek and lift his head away from the vomit so that he can meet her eyes. She grants him a pitiful look. He was not as tough as he thought. Though she does not feel as sorry for him as she gives off. No, as long as he lived she would be okay with whatever happened. If he died then Freja and Lathan would endure her wrath and that would be worse than any poison the Noble cooked up. Additionally, she would task both of them to find her two replacements to make up for him.

She feels a tickle on her left forelimb, Icefang peeking down in surprise to see her latest addition, @Erasmos at her side. She would give the boy a soft grumble of greeting as he peers between Nikandr and Lathan. The paw that is outstretched to comfort Nikandr is placed back at her side and gently her left paw would lift and aim to land behind the back of his head by the shoulders in an attempt to gently nudge him forward and provide him with a better view of the writhing Nikandr. Was this a child-appropriate show? Probably not, but those that had known Icefang the longest had likely figured out her mothering style was unconventional. There was a reason she was the mother of monsters.

@Freja joins them and Icefang regards her with a neutral glance as she remains seated. There is a quick look over all of them before the medic focuses on the obviously ill patient. Hmm, perhaps she should of made this harder by presenting her with a placebo patient as well. Just as Lathan had sneakily poisoned two of the Lagoon members, what if such thing happened under Freja's future rule? How would she deal with the pressure of multiple sick members sobbing at her feet? A consideration for the next test she planned to throw onto the splotched lioness. Without the element of surprise, she could not force Erasmos to take a portion of the tainted meat now. She would need to plan better for the next test. Maybe let Lathan brainstorm with her. He seemed to enjoy these type of activities.

Freja inquires about Nikandr's stomach volume and for now the queen would stay silent alongside her sentry and adopted son. There would be no help from her here. The only thing she had to offer was a hard stare that screamed for Freja to figure this out. There was a possibility Icefang would prevent Lathan from stepping in to the rescue if she believed her favorite toy huntress was not trying hard enough.

Icefang had shrugged at his pointed stare, this would certainly test something in the boy, but it wouldn’t be his strength. Perhaps it was his resolve or simply just his blind loyalty to eat the tainted meat and trust Icefang wasn’t going to let him die. It only seemed fitting that, as @Nikandr gorged on the tainted carcass, when Icefang gave him a questioning look, he rolled his shoulders. He had been careful with the seeds, that being the only truly lethal part he had added. It was dosed correctly, in all the meat he gorged on, there was probably only 10-15 tiny little seeds. It took roughly 20 to kill a lion…or at least that was his best guess anyway. They would find out.

She had nodded to his advice about him intervening at the 3 hour mark, that was more for Nikandr than a requirement. If she wanted him fit for battle within the week, she would allow Lathan to intervene, otherwise it was likely the patched lion would be sick and feeble for at least two weeks. She had requested he not cause severe injury to the test subject, but that was only guaranteed if she allowed him to intervene. Nikandr, unsurprisingly, would begin to feel the effects quite rapidly, both because he had eaten so much so quickly and well…that was just the nature of the poison. Vomiting was a symptom- a shitty one at that considering all that burning would be felt all over again. Another look from Icefang and he nodded slightly in reassurance. The patched boy would be fine. This was simply part of it.

It wasn’t long and another woman appeared, @Freja, she looked them all over before turning her attention to the patient, Lathan watched with sharp eyes, his pointed ears perking forward to listen to any words she said- it wasn’t much. She asked if he had thrown it all back up and his head tilted slightly but he said nothing. He watched as she examined the meat, the bits of seed that hadn’t attached themselves to his stomach. He frowned, disappointed. He’d hoped they would have stayed in the stomach longer to begin more absorption. Alas, he would have to adjust the strength of the Jack-In-The-Pulpit so that it did not cause so much vomiting next time.

Tail twitched, thumping against his paw. He was tempted to speak, to goad her into making a mistaken, but he hadn’t been requested to do that so he remained silent, lips pressed in a firm line of impatience. He glanced down and noted a dark cub had appeared. Brow raising slightly, he was new. He caught the boy glancing at him and he offered a playful wink. A small, reassuring smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

Freja refused to allow panic to seep in, to infect her mind and body and render her completely useless. Firstly it would do nothing to help the male still rolling on the ground in a state of dysphoria, but it would also prove to Icefang that she was totally and completely useless. So when the smell of the small seed she had hooked from the meat did not immediately ring any bells of recognition in her mind, she did not let it show. She remained focused, moving herself back to Nikandr who had not managed to answer her question. She attempted one final time to try and identify any of the poisons used in the meat before turning again. It didn't matter, she would still treat him. Moving over to the splotched male, she noted again the swollen tongue and decided that she needed to start some kind of treatment sooner rather than later.

One big benefit of the Brook was the numerous streams that infiltrated the grounds and having ready access to water was something Freja would capitalise on. "Come on, lets get to the water so I can wash your mouth out." She instructed and began the process of trying to get the splotched man towards the fluid. It was a mixture of pulling and pushing, but the healer would not give up on her mission. Of course, the onlookers could have helped and perhaps she would have asked, but this hadn't been named a trial for nothing. She did not think she would find any help there. With Nikandr's face hopefully closer to the water, she cupped his cheek with one paw to support his head and began to scoop water into his mouth, to wash out anything still lingering.

Raz feels himself being slid forward and he appreciates the new view. His curiosity was torn between the weird scene on the ground and the dark male (@Lathan), who offered him a smile and a wink which enticed a grin out of the boy. Raz bit his lip because he wanted to go and ask questions, but clearly something important was happening so he turned his head back and stared hard at the nervous looking lioness.

Lowering himself into a pounce the boy rested his chin on his forepaws, his back end up in the air and wiggling as he watched the lioness try to coax patches over to the water, was he stupid? Had he eaten rotten meat? Raz was barely eating meat and even he knew that if it smelt sweet you don't put it in your mouth.

Raz glanced over at the meat in question and sniffed thoughtfully at the air. He couldn't tell over the smell of unfamiliar lions and the summer heat whether the meat was bad or not. Shouldn't a grown-up be able to tell though?

"Did he do a stupid thing?" His head tips back to look up at @Icefang ♔.

He continues playing up the drama, feigning inability to speak. In reality, it did fucking hurt - but he'd survive it, he's sure. They might not have had this particular poison in his homeland ( the boy knows nothing of plants, after all ) but his mother had poisoned himself and his siblings plenty. The trials of the Law were not for the weak of heart just ask his sister.

Nikandr allows @Freja to cart him over to the nearest creek and he hunkers down next to it. When she bends to help clear his mouth, he flashes his gaze up to @Icefang ♔ - testing. Should he continue playing it up? Her paw cradles his face and he selfishly lets himself rest against the gentle touch as she cleans off his face, cups water to pour it into his mouth.

What a way to meet a pretty lady.

He almost smiles, but swallows it at the last moment, smothering it beneath a cough as he rights himself and groans - only partially feigned. His stomach heaves against but there's nothing left in his gut, so he tamps down the urge to vomit. Fhanks, he mumbles around his swollen tongue, his brows tightening in annoyance.
