The horde of felines moved together, snapping teeth and seeking flesh and blood in a valiant and determined effort to take down the creature that reared before them. All the while, Arduinna was careful and calculated to her approach to this hunt – her main focus was avoiding the rhinoceros’ horn, opting to shift and move with the snowfall so that she could use it as camouflage for her attacks. She surged forward and back in a rhythmic fashion with the winter weather, crimson pooling on the edges of her lips until, finally, it fell.

Victory was sweet and iron-tasting upon her tongue, and it was without hesitance that the yearling leaned into the kill with a fervent sort of hunger. She was quick and intentional in taking her rightful piece of the meal, only withdrawing when she had secured a good chunk for herself as a prize. A wayward glance would be given to the others that had partaken, but she was rarely one for chit-chat and instead would opt for solitude, retreating back and away from the group with her trophy proudly in hand. exit.

The Rhino was certainly putting every lion in its place as it pushed to its very limits, threatening each lion with its horns. Chaeton dodged it not once but twice, pivoting his entire body away from it like he was a cat sprung with surprise. Thankfully he was an agile creature with quick reflexes and his muscles worked to get him out of a disaster. As soon a the rhino focused his efforts elsewhere, Chaeton rushed along at its flank with the pounding of his heart to the rhythm of his paws on the ground. Pushing the pavement as it were before springing to its flank to deal it down and it did just that, flinging itself onto the ground. Chaeton took a chunk of it with him as he quickly departed the hunt; one small piece for himself but mostly he was going to bring it back to the Lagoon to see if anyone else was hungry. exit chaeton

There was a momentary hint of distraction as her gaze swept to a strange male. There were snowy white but with dark points in places she was certain she had not seen before. Just as she knew that she and her twin sister were as unique as they came if you didn't count the triplets or whatever living in Ecrosia. It wasn't just his features that drew her eye to him but the way he spoken and the charismatic way that he did it, assuming bravery to the beast before them as he charged head-on. (@Émeric).

Perhaps it told a tale to where her attention left when in a hunt given how she had found a likeness to their very host at another hunt that was months apart from now. Hunts were a good way to meet others, even if it was only a sparing glance. With a hard swallow as the beast fell, she sucked in a breath and put on a confident stride towards their downed beast. Lowering her head and taking what she had earned before making a hesitant departure. exit daneri

Brought down with swift claw. Arianwen stood in triumph, beaming a grin to them all as they each took their reward. Some she would even quickly encourage to take more. Take as much as they willed! There was surely plenty to go around and she wasn't about to eat it all on her own.

With a final leap, the hunt's tale unfurled,
Success and survival, in this winter world.

Some of them seemed to prefer carry out tonight. To which she offered them all in turn a polite nod of both thanks and farwell. One in particular she remembered. The pretty little grey lioness she had painted before. To her, Arianwen's chest fluffed up, chin slightly tucked in, and her smile grew in knowing. IT was good to see familiar faces from time to time.

So let the winds carry your tale on high,

And then it was done, the beast felled and the hunters' prize claimed as the rhino's sides had finally ceased their labored heaving. Khal shook out the dust and blood from his brown cloak, taking a moment himself to catch his breath while sending up a small thanks to Maua that no one had seemed to take any serious damage. His relationship with his Creator had been strained at best for a long time, but with the blessings bestowed on him by Voluspa's return... it was difficult to continue turning a blind eye to the gods' wills. There had been too much divinity around him to continue his path of denial. He, too, would take a small chunk for a prize of a small meal before settling down nearby to enjoy it. exit khal

Draugr was just starting to get into the groove when the rhino went down. He managed to pull away from his attack with blood on his teeth. Delicious blood. He came to a gradual stop, panting, feeling his extra fur and size, as Arduinna passed him easily. The group had done their due-diligence and brought the creature down, and now it was time to feast.

"Thank you, spirits, for a successful hunt. We will dine in your honor."

Draugr moved to take his pound of flesh from the rhinos. Once he was satisfied with his share, he'd turn, pivoting himself to carry his share off and eat it alone. /Exit

The whole affair leaves Maven tired and sore, lean muscles quivering from the effort of avoiding the rhino's massive horn and stomping feet. The fact that she'd endured the length of the hunt without getting squashed into a pancake is enough of a win, but the sight of the beast finally falling is a far more satisfying triumph than she could have hoped.

The songstress's melody becomes a victory song, and Maven quietly basks in her beautiful tones as she sags to the ground to catch her breath.

When the last notes of the song sailed away on the breeze, and the hunters began to disperse to their own four corners, Maven would step forward to take her well-deserved meal, casting a final glance over the surface of the watering hole before slipping away to her own quiet retreat.
