He felt stronger already.

He almost swore he was cutting into the stone he dragged his claws across. Were those marks? In truth, they were not caused by him but that did not matter. The addicting vibrations blooming from the friction of claw and stone was more than enough to make up for it.

Gods, he felt he didn’t need to spend as long sharpening now, for he found his claws were suitably pointy in less time than he could ever remember it taking. And so, he walked down into the pit, head held high. He was a warrior. And, more importantly, a prince. Naturally, he did not approach some straggler in the pit for a challenge. No, he called out and waited.

They would always come to him.

She had found herself at the pit, a long stick clasped in her jaws as she had come to work on sharpening her teeth- while watching some fights. She hadn't expected the challenging call to be unanswered yet- and as she approached she noted a yearling in the pit. Taraji carries the stick down, jaws working it as she does- teeth digging into the wood, and she sits it down on the edge, before giving herself a good stretch.

"May I?" She inquires, as she squares up, and readies herself- giving him a few moments to refuse if he wishes and ready himself if he wishes to proceed- before she barrels forward towards him. She aims to come at him head-on, trying to veer slightly to the left in an attempt slam her shoulder into his in hopes that she can stagger him while her jaws splay in an attempt to bite into his shoulder- in a firm but hopefully over-all undamaging grip.

He had been lounging nearby, waiting and scouting for a real challenge. Thus he had not answered the yearling's call. Instead choosing to run his claws across the rock in front of him. Blue eyes rise in surprise and intrigue as he catches @Taraji enter the pit to face the child. The brute snorts a quiet laugh as he sits up for a better look. eyeing the way his sister moves. Legs shoulder width, kid! Root yourself. He barks out with amusement. Watching the way Taraji aimed to slam into him. He wasn't looking to practice his skills against someone unworthy but he had no problem throwing out tips if it meant seeing Tara lose.

As he expected, someone came.

It pleased his ego well enough, even before the stranger before him seemed to ask permission. Briefly, he thought of how amusing it would have been to simply say no. Funny, perhaps, but utterly pointless. Besides, he had a spar focus to on. As Taraji charged for him, another appeared.

As much as he despised being called kid, he did follow the advise. He was able to spread his legs far enough apart to make himself more solid as Taraji slammed into him.

His paws slipped as her jaws found their mark on his shoulder, though she did not harm him, not really. This, he could respect, even as he attempted to slam his right paw against her throat — she could have his shoulder, but not without cost.

She is so hared in on her target that she doesn't see her brother arrive, but that does not mean she has forgotten his voice. The snarl that leaves her has nothing to do with her opponent and everything to do with her brother offering advice to her opponent. Thanks, Cassius. What a dick. She thought, as she slammed into the younger male. He did well to withstand her attack, though and she felt the impact radiate through her body- and ache through her. Yet, her jaws find purchase in his shoulder, just as his right paw hits her square in the throat- making her let go, and aim to stagger back a step or two as she coughs. Taraji aims to try to rear up while she coughs to aim a hefty swat towards his face to cuff him around the ears, while she fights to get her breath back- tail lashing to help her balance as she aims to stay rooted.

If he understood the cause of her snarl, he did not show it. There was, after all, something much more interesting to focus on. He was more than pleased that his strike landed true — a rough jab to the throat so much like the ones he aimed at Saeros. The sound of her coughing was nearly as pleasing as watching her stagger back. It was a reminder of the power he possessed.

It was good.

The harsh cuff to the ears was not but he did not cower at a little pain. Instead, he reared up on his legs in turn, using his own tail to balance himself as he reached forward and attempted to grapple his forelegs with hers and pull down, intent on turning this into a wrestling match.

Little brother's voice calls from the Pit. What is he up to? She wonders. An ounce of concern resided in her soul. But not entirely for his wellbeing- for what he did, what eyes saw of him, reflected on Caladan. On Sunder. On her. So when she's near enough to hear him enticing a fight from strangers she approaches, she rounds the top of the Pit and looks over to watch the young male dive into a fight with a darkly speckled peach woman. On the sides another male also spectating and offering some arm chair coaching.

She remains quiet for now, moving to lay down her belly on the ground and cross her forepaws before her. Gaze fixing upon @Drauhir ♔ and the performance he was putting on. She watched how he maneuvered, when he struck, when he dodged.

For a younger lion, he was doing well to keep up with her- to challenge her even. Taraji, wasn't exactly sure what she had expected but... perhaps it would have been easier if her brother hadn't helped him. Males. The air was still hard to get to pump through her throat, and into her lungs- but as she coughed, and managed to cuff him- he reared up as well. Tenacious, she'd give him that- for sure. As his forelegs grappled with her own and tugged downward, Taraji decided to get a bit creative- and aimed to pull back against him for a half of a second, hoping that he would lean into her- before she would aim to shove her weight forward suddenly, hoping to bring him down to the earth- with her on top of him- to hopefully end this.
