Elaine was hungry in a way that the stores of the pride could not fill. Since her sister had loosened the leash on their hunting some, she headed out in the middle of the day to find her target. She would take pleasure in the hunt. She moved toward the watering hole, a place that had served her well in the past. There were many lion scents around when she arrived and Elaine smirked. Someone wouldn't be going home today. Elaine would still be careful to not pick lions with pride scents or scents that seemed to suggest there would be someone looking for them. She didn't need the Bluffs to become the target of the island's attention because of her actions. Elaine found a spot under a tree to watch the water's edge, looking for her target. She was patient and would wait for the right one to come along.

Now fully recovered, Apollinaire was out and about more often. He had ceased his nightly excursions in search of Anthonius, having come to the conclusion that the man could not possibly evade him for so long - he must've left the valley or died somewhere from his wounds. Well, not that Apollinaire wouldn't have found his body considering that he upturned every possible rock in Amaryllis.

And so he had more time to satiate his predatory urges via other avenues. Today he followed the trail of a lion and so it led him to the watering hole. However, the moment he arrived the Sovereign realized that he was not alone. @Elaine sat patiently underneath the shade of a tree, out of all lions. He did not expect her to be here, and yet he made his way towards her regardless. "Sœur," he greeted his sister-in-law with a flourished, deep bow of his skull and an enthused smile that tugged on the newly-acquired scars across his face. Elaine was used to a large number of lions around her in the Bluffs but had grown used to her solitude when away from the Bluffs, though she did find that there was one that she didn't mind having shatter the silence. She heard the sound of another moving toward her and she felt a hint of excitement as she turned to look and found @Apollinaire, a flash of her excitement dulling flickered through her gaze before she offered him a rare smile as he gave her a bow. She wasn't unhappy to see him, just less happy than if it had been someone else. That thought scared her as she tried to focus on his words. Frère. Oui. Brother. Yes. She gave a nod, if he was asking it was likely he was here to hunt. She couldn't think of a time where she had hunted alone with him but his nature to kill was one that she admired. She had known her sister and her nieces and nephews were safe with him as their protector. Her gaze looked over his new scars without any attempt to hide what she was doing. J'ai faim. Allons chasser. I'm hungry. Let's hunt. She stood and took in the area around them looking for the perfect target.

Apollinaire's gaze lingered on @Elaine as she acknowledged his presence with a subtle hint of excitement. She was intriguing in more senses than one. Louve had chosen Elaine to be her Heiress, which had sprung a note of jealousy within the undead man. It was not as if he was unfamiliar with such a feeling. Elaine followed his gaze as the male took no time in finding them a target. Her ears flicked forward and she felt pleased with the selection. The male would feed them both with plenty to bring back to the family. There were plenty of mouths to feed and even more seemed to be ok with the practice now that Louve had made it so well known to the pride. There was less hiding but that didn't mean Elaine would go around announcing it to anyone, though she wondered if the male next to her might do just that.

A low grumble of delight was her only reply as she moved forward, her icy gaze locked on the soon-to-be meal. Elaine surged forward as she grew closer and with a quick motion launched herself at the male's rump, her teeth and claws digging deep into flesh as the lion turned to fight back. She felt the thrill of the hunt and a fight coursing through her as she shook her head to drive her teeth deeper into her walking meal. She didn't pay much attention to the claws coming toward her, laying her faith in @Apollinaire to handle the rest of the meal's body.

As @Elaine surged forward, her lithe form cutting through the crisp air like a blade, Apollinaire matched her movements with predatory grace. His amber gaze locked onto their quarry, a primal hunger stirring deep within his chest. With a silent nod to his sister-in-law, he lunged forward, his muscles coiled like springs ready to unleash their fury.

His sister-in-law engaged the prey from behind, while the Undead King darted in from the side, his brown form a blur of motion against the muted backdrop of the wilderness. With a powerful thrust of his hind legs, he closed the distance in the blink of an eye, sinking razor-sharp teeth into the man's shoulder with the strength of a bear trap.

A guttural growl of defiance erupted from their prey as he twisted and thrashed, wild eyes ablaze fury and fear. He was sure that the man had not anticipated such an unprovoked attack, and likely thought he would go back home with his life. The Dieudonne had always had that advantage. But Apollinaire held fast, his grip unyielding as he rode out the storm of the man's desperate struggles. With each thrash and twist, he felt the exhilarating rush of the hunt course through his veins, a sick and twisted symphony of primal instincts guiding his every move.
