It had been calm and then there had been chaos.

Meisia had been in her den when the first wave hit the beaches, snoozing when they started to claw their way deeper into Scilla territory. When they reached the mouth of her den. Then there had been ocean brine, salt, and seawater in her nose, her mouth her eyes, and ears. Panicked she'd fought to get out, to escape the suffocating jaws of her own den. The dark hole she'd been so proud of having obtained. It had become a prison rapidly filling with water.

Not that outside her den had been any better. Dark tired limbs had clawed their way out of the watery coffin fate had prepared for her. But once out, the rolling ways had stolen the last strength of her legs the waves strangled her call for her protector, teacher, and friend? The raging sea had taken her. Its cold hands grasped her small frame and tossed it about like a ragdoll.

When the ocean finally let her go, the waves crashed onto dark sands leaving a soaked and bleeding girl behind. By some miracle or fate itself, she was not seriously harmed. An open cut on her shoulder was the worst of her injuries, and it left a trail of red running down her small side. The witchling could taste it too, her red, her blood. At some point, she'd bitten her tongue, at some point, she'd cut her brow, her limbs, her body. Minor bruising and lightly bleeding cuts told of her time in the sea. A rattling cough followed by a cascade of new coughs and gagging to push out any seawater in her throat.

Her entire body hurt when she finally stopped shaking collapsing into sun-warmed black sand. The storm that had claimed her home was gone as the sun started to slowly dry her frame water lapping at her hind paws.

Fate had been cruel but it had also spared her.

Perhaps it had been the hand of fate that had sent Lalaith in the direction of the blackened shores on this day. She was not familiar with this place, nor was she hardly familiar with any of the surrounding areas. She didn't know that the Lagoon had disbanded, and she certainly didn't know that there had been a tremendous storm that had scattered nearly every single soul that had called it home. Her paws had absently carried her across the dark grains of sand, her blue gaze glancing outward towards the ocean. It was a beautiful day, there was a warm breeze, and the waves were lapping quietly around her. It had been chance alone that her gaze had shifted, noticing what at first looked like a clump of debris up ahead on the beach. But once her gaze narrowed and she really focused, she was able to see the shape materialize into the form of a cub.

Her heart lurched in her chest and before she realized it she was sprinting across the dark sand. Her tiny paws hit repetitively on the sand, a steady beat as she moved. It didn't take her long to eat up the distance and only once she was close enough did she slow to a determined walk. Her eyes quickly took in the damage that the girl's body carried. Multiple knicks and cuts all across her frame, a water-logged coat, and a wracking cough that both expelled seawater and rattled in her young chest. "Gaat het?" Are you okay? She asked, but her brows pinched together. She didn't even know if this place spoke the same language as she and Ardent. She wracked her mind trying to remember the fickle language that was used in other terrains, piecing together as much broken common tongue as she could muster. "Okay?" Wow, really great job Lala. One word. But perhaps it was enough for the girl to answer her. Her medic's gaze analyzed the numerous cuts, they would need cleaned or she would risk infection. She could help her, if the girl would allow it.

The Lagoon had fallen and with that, left both him and @Meisia without a home and he felt at fault here. He had promised her a home, a place to stay safe and then it came crumbling down. He had bounded through the Lagoon from top any trees he could so that he wasn't in the salt water to go out and find out that Meisia wasn't in her den. That the water had taken her away. Panic set in as he took off out of the lagoon and into the nearby shoreline.

In truth, he wasn't sure where he was going to but he figured the shore would've been the first place to go looking for and well, he was right. His yellow jewels spotted the familiar dark plum figure and there was another but he darted for Meisia's form and nudged at her, hissing at the other lioness. He wasn't sure if she was here to help Meisia or not but Abdul was keen to stay close to the Saxe child before anything bad happened to her again.

It hurt, everything hurt... Everything had been taken, stolen from her once again. Everyone is gone, stolen by the ocean. Why? Why had it taken everything from her? She'd almost been certain the deep blue was a gate to better fortunes. That its waves collected sacrifices and pushed fate along. Ensuring good things happened but this? This was not what she had wanted.

Then there was a voice, unfamiliar and foreign talking in tongues she did not understand. A tired dark head lifted out of the sand, her mismatched gaze focusing on the stranger. Confusion, anger, and misery ran over her face all at once tears threatening to spill from her eyes the moment the reality of the situation washed over her. She was alone, alive and alone. Everyone else... Meisia didn't wanna finish the thought. Her fox, the imp prince, and his brothers. Nusuri, well the priest might still be alive, alive but gone... And this woman wasn't helping. Speaking in words Meisia didn't understand and then that question? "What do you think?" the girl would snarl baring her teeth at the woman but the tone of her voice, the tiredness, and missery seeping into every word, didn't match her angry face.

But the witchling wouldn't cry, she wouldn't cry in front of this stranger. Wouldn't be that weak. She was not a baby anymore, she was better the the Imp, better than this. Yet her eyes betrayed her as the scent of @Abdul reached her as his smaller frame nudged against hers. "It's gone" she managed to speak with quivering lips as her vision blurred in tears. "The ocean took it, them... all of it" everything just gone, she too... almost. The witchling's dark frame shivered at the memory of the waterlogged den, her lungs burning.

It does not take long for a companion to join them in the form of @Abdul. Immediately Lalaith is intrigued by the small creature, her delicate ears preening forward gently in greeting. However, the little guy hisses in warning and she takes a step backward, only to show him that she had no intentions of harming the already injured cub that was before the both of them. "What do you think? It's gone. The ocean took it, them... all of it." The girl was angry, and tears welled in her eyes and Lalaith could not help but sigh softly, her own face creased with worry. Quickly her crystalline gaze would scan the ocean, searching to see if there were any other individuals nearby who had been cast out to sea along with her. She only saw debris floating in the water, no one else. Not a soul in sight save for the three of them.

"I'm sorry." She would offer softly, the few words that she could translate to this brutish common tongue that was so fickle for her still. "Let.. I help?" She pushes out, lifting a petite paw forward to motion at the many knicks and cuts on the girl's body. "I heal." She motions her paw back to herself, her gaze moving from @Meisia back to Abdul then. She hoped that the two of them could sense that she was no danger to them. Just a stranger that perhaps had been at the right place, at the right time. Her gaze would swing, surveying what was around her. She was sure there were plenty of herbs she could find to at least coat the girl's wounds to prevent infection from setting in. But, she didn't want to move. Didn't want to worry them further, at least not until they gave the go ahead to do so.
