December 13, 2024 After winning the challenge for Wolfbron Bluffs and becoming the fourth Dieudonné to hold the crown, Lazare releases all the members and ends the longest standing pride's reign over the island. After seven years of the Bluffs being held by the same family, it now sits empty, waiting for the next chapter of it's leadership.

December 6, 2024 Death came to a witch hunter after she called for the death of Karsa, with Kvare answering it causing Miaran to fall. Lazare Dieudonné challenges Louve Dieudonné for Wolfbron Bluffs. Snow seems to be falling in the middle of the summer as strange animals show up and offer a tempting meal for those brave enough to jump in.

November 8, 2024 Scorpius has gone missing and in his place Zaahir steps up to take the throne of Andal Oasis. How this change of leadership will shake things up in the lands, only time will tell.

October 11, 2024 Something is happening in the Scorched Wilds. There is a battle raging between a familiar force and an unfamiliar one. What will you do? Help or hinder?

October 1, 2024 Spooky things are happening as the afterlife start walking among the living once again.

September 30, 2024 Louve Dieudonné manages to keep Wolfbron Bluffs in the family. What will happen between the Bluffs and the otherwise peaceful pride of Lorien Plains?

September 20, 2024 Ilarion Rurik challenges for Wolfbron, will the Dieudonné lead pride fall?

September 8, 2024War broke out once again in the Lagoon when a wedding had some uninvited guest arrive. The war results in the most death matches the island has seen at once. The Summit was challenged by Brighid with Talisa answering the call. After many years of the Summit have the same two leaders, the Summit changes hands. What will this mean for the balance of Amaryllis? A witch hunt has started by Luther and Miaran which seems to be turning things on an island that is full of magic.

August 25, 2024 War broke out in the challenge for the Lagoon after Cassius tries to take the Lagoon from Isla. The Cove remains with Miaran. The leadership of the Mire switches from Sigrún hold to Rike when Luther comes back to take his birthland back. Elephants push into the Rainforest and push out the lions there. Soon after Lucifer lays claim to his birthland and takes over the Rainforest.

June 27, 2024 Conflict and tensions rise as prides come head-to-head with one another across Amaryllis - just as Pyrrha and Cassius take the leap to try and claim (or reclaim) their own thrones.

May 24, 2024 Rulers continue to shift, family strife ensues, and, per usual, tensions seems taunt and always lingering on the horizon.

April 24, 2024 Things are rocky within Amaryllis as the Dieudonne clash result in three deaths and forces a shift in the rulership of Firnen Rainforest. With Caladan Cove freshly overturned as well, what will the consequenecss of these events be?

March 30, 2024 The lull has ended as a long standing family, the Dieudonné, launch death matches against their own. The Plains sees a challenge from a new comer, Aphrodite, and the quite pride is pushed into the spotlight.

March 19, 2024 A momentary lull has overtaken the lands of Amaryllis as its inhabitants attempt to find their footing and rebuild after a string of challenges. How long it will last, however, nobody can be quite sure.

February 11, 2024 The Mire has fallen from the Stärke family and is now held by Luther Rike. The change has stirred but the fighting nature of those on the island. The Brook finds a new leader with Icefang and Isla takes over the Lagoon after a storm pushes out the old leader. Reti finds himself the leader of the Hollows after Alexander is hurt. The Oasis finds a new leader in Léonie who is soon tested by Harou.

January 8, 2024 The snow has finally begun to melt anew, which means that the world is slowly returning to the much-anticipated summer season. With the various holiday activities and the other jests put on by Nafasi also coming to a close, it is safe to say that winter is finally over.

December 5th, 2023 Nafasi had pulled a cruel trick and has sent Amaryllis back into a renewed winter season! But it's not all bad, because the lands will also see a handful of holiday-themed events popping up as a result. To make things more interesting, a wayward trio of travlers have also arrived and are facilitating a mass competition between the prides, bands, and rogues -- formally dubbed the Amaryllis Winter Games.

December 2nd, 2023 The spring air brings forth a number of pride challenges. A familiar challenger for the Cove and the Oasis arrive to try to earn what they want. The new leader of the Lagoon is tested in battle as well. What changes will come from the challenges? Who will remain standing and who will find their world turned upside down?

November 27th, 2023 In a challenge between mother and daughter, the leadership of Wolfbron Bluff changes for the first time in 5 IC years.

November 22nd, 2023 Two death matches, one resurrection, and an almost-war later, the lands find themselves in a constant state of turmoil and calamity. Families have been torn apart and endless blood has been spilt; but how is it all going to end?

November 3rd, 2023 The lands stir violently as a death match rages on between Aeistrios Saxe and Morrigan Greyflood. Observers spill into the pit in droves to witness what will no doubt be a historic battle -- and it is clear that this familial fued is far from over, no matter who wins and who dies.

October 12th, 2023 With winter comes the surge of more pride challenges; Ludivine challenges Ryker for Firnen Rainforest and is victorious in her endeavors, meanwhile an outcropping of maims breaks out on the sidelines. In a shocking turn of events Luther returns to challenge Bruno for Ecrosia Mire, will the former heir prove victorious or has Bruno got what it takes to keep his brother's ambitions at bay? This has undoubtedly shaken things up as Bruno declares war against Andal Oasis and Allies in the process!

Though the air is still warm and the sun is bright, the summer is beginning to wane and, with it, the humidity has started to die down. It is a welcomed relief for the inhabitants of the jungle, as more moderate weather will mean that the rainforest will not feel quite as stifling, as well as those from the desert, who's early autumn will see calm winds and mild nights. For the rest of the peninsula, the change in seasons will be gradual, hinting towards the colder months that are soon to come.

outlaw competition

Rumors had begun to circulate throughout Amaryllis, whispering promises of a grand competition that would soon be gracing the lands. It was a break from their often calamity and chaos – and though it would still spark the competitive nature that many of the peninsula’s inhabitants already possessed, this would be more-so the healthy kind. At least they hoped.

A trio had found their way here, unannounced and slipping, at first, within the comfort of the shadows. They were cross-country scouts, some would say, with a pulse for adrenaline and a wanton desire to find the most skilled and formidable trade masters among them. They had traversed many territories, seen many lands – and now, their next stop had brought them to Amaryllis, curious to see who would rise to the top. Not to mention that the winning team - the one who would prove themselves to have a strong and diverse arsenal of members to partake in these competitions - would get some of the best bragging rights of all time.

Let the games begin.

The fog made everything a bit more eerie than it normally would be – which he supposed wasn’t a problem, however, as it just added to the ambiance of it all. As the days drew on and the competitions continued, the red-pelted tradesman knew that it was only a matter of time until one of these teams would begin to outshine the rest. There was a competitive spirit in all of them and he, more than anyone, intended to draw that out as much as possible.

“Outlaws, it’s time to prove yourselves!” The summons bellowed out across the winds, cutting through the silence that had settled over the badlands and initiating the beginning of yet another bout of rivalry. Just like all the rest, it was their turn to step up to the plate and to take what it was that they wanted. Fame, recognition, dominance – they could have it all, here and now.

rules & instructions

This is the thread for the outlaw trade competition. Your character must have this as their master or sub-master trade, and their team is based on their usergroup (pride, band, rogue). The goal is for your team to amass the most amount of points and win the competition. Read all of the information here.

Sign-ups for this competition are open until December 12; you must post here before then to participate. On December 13, the competition will start and the first round of match-ups will be posted.

Regardless of how it had come about, Calcifer loved the unseasonable weather and moved with some considerable pep in her step. After waking up to the world blanketed in white, the pirate had done what she knew how to do best - explored and poked her nose into things and managed to get into some mischief along the way. And when a summoning bellow rolled out across the Badlands, the woman was immediately moving. Tail flung high, she loped towards the dramatic backdrop of the Smoke Stacks and quickly spied the striking figure who had sent out such a summons. "I wanna play - whatever game yer puttin' on." She declared with a flashing grin of her teeth. Extra long claws flexed, scraping against the dirt and sand beneath her as she awaited the rules.

More and more was he finding Amaryllis to be so peculiar and interesting. The smoke stacks were an interesting sight, the cracks allowing for the smoke to rise from the earth and up into the air. Ember eyes watch the smoke as it dances with snowflakes, causing for them to melt before they even touch the ground. Lips pull into a thin line as he takes a step closer, only stopping once he hears a voice bellow - one that is close. Intrigued, the dragon begins to make his way toward the direction the voice had come from, soon spotting two others. A brow rises as he tries to figure out what this all was, and if more were going to join. "You called?" Deep vocals rumble his question, a rather unamused expression placed on his features as he stares at the red furred one, but only after giving the lioness a half dip of his head in greeting.

    outlaw competition

Much to the man’s disappointment, this competition did not seem to garner much of a turnout. And though he would have preferred to have a larger group in attendance for the purposes of what he had planned, he supposed that this would simply have to do. He would acknowledge, however, that it showed good character for the two lions that had showed up – one of them would earn the title that they sought, today, and the other could still walk away knowing that they had tried and come close.

“Greetings. My partners and I are looking for not only the best tradesmen and women of these lands, but also the strongest and most able pride. Glory and recognition will come to those that succeed in today’s competition, and once we’re finished with all of our tests – we will see which pride or band stands above the rest. Unless the rogues outmatch them all, that is. I won’t give away all of our secrets, but I assure you, winning is the best option.” The well-practiced monologue fell easily from between his lips as he peered between the two, pointed ears flickering absently against the push of the breeze.

“Outlaws – I’m looking to see which one of you has the grit required for survival, and existing beyond the typical boundaries of a pride. It isn’t an easy lifestyle, but it can be worthwhile. Since there are only two of you, we will keep things simple with a spar.” Having only two of them there made things more simple, undoubtedly – it was now a simple test of strength, tenacity, and vigor. “When you’re ready, begin.”

He has to bite his tongue lest the scoff would have slipped forth. Seeing that only he and another had arrived at this event made Smaug wish he didn't show, but alas he was here. He listens to the red furred man speak, telling them of what this was and what he wanted them to do. A spar would be simple enough. Ember eyes glance at the younger lioness, shoulders rolling before he moves back a bit to give them equal space. His defenses slip into place easily and ears twist back to flatten atop his skull while claws unsheathe and grip into the cracked, dry ground beneath them. "You go first." Might as well try to be a bit chivalrous, something he rarely practiced.

It seemed this was to be the least popular of the games and festivities cropping up all around the lands. Calcifer offered a nod of greeting in return to the only other creature who had joined them, a large creature who's rumbled words rolled through her. He would be a formidable opponent, but the dragonling had absolutely no qualms about taking on the big boys. When the scarlet male announced the game and decided upon a spar for their challenge, Calcifer's face transformed into a grin. She was moving before she'd really taken into consideration the fact that @Smaug had chivalrously offered for her to make the first move. Whilst he took on a defensive stance, she aimed to dart around the left side of the male - aiming to strike at the side of soft belly or the flap of skin joining his hind limb to his abdomen, anywhere that wasn't head on.

His eyes were trained on the other she she began to dart towards him. Smaug watched as she maneuvered so that she were coming from his left side a bite, feeling the claws hook in his left armpit. He releases a snarl at the stinging pain, body moving in an attempt to keep them facing each other. While he does this, right forepaw rises into the air with claws unsheathed. It strikes toward the lioness, attempting to slash at whatever it could reach: right shoulder, more towards the back of it, he didn't care. As long as he got his own shot in he would be satisfied - for now.

    outlaw competition

This competition, though small, at least allowed for things to be a bit more intimate for the two outlaws. They were facing off head-to-head for the title of champion – and it did not matter how many had shown up, how many rounds they squared off in, or how quickly it would end. What mattered was that they had shown up and competed. The tradesman could not ask them for anything more.

Bright eyes watched as the two descended into battle, noting absently that the male gave the other the chance to start. It would not garner him any brownie-points from the referee – but it would appear, after a few moments more, that he would not need it. Because the clay-coloured brute eventually managed to gain the upper hand against his opponent, wrestling the trophy up from the dirt in a good show of strength and might. She was a valiant sparrer, however, and it was silently that the tradesman hoped she knew it, too.

“Congratulations,” His voice rattled against the sound of the spar, signaling for the two of them to concede and accept the reality of the outcome. He tilted forward upon his toes, then, eyes honing in on the shape of the winner and offering @Smaug a blunt jerk of his chin. “You’ve bested your opponent and are the last one standing. You’ve earned the title of champion, and have proven yourself as the best outlaw here today.”

“I understand, however, that you may have both been expecting more if not for the small turnout. So I’ll offer this: if you wish to prove yourself further, you may both attempt to spar me. If you’re interested, make the first move.” A smirk accompanied his words now, taunt frame shifting as he looked to take a more prepared stance amongst the others. He assumed that, if they were brave enough to take the judge up upon his challenge, that they would waste little time before jumping in.

    match-ups & instructions

Because of the small turnout for the outlaw competition, this NPC has offered to engage in a spar – consider it a bonus round 2, for both @Smaug and @Calcifer! This is completely optional and not required.

Please note that @Smaug has won the official trade competition, and is the only one that can claim “+3 - Be one of the last ones standing in a posted trade competition (win the final round match-up)” from this thread.

If your characters agree to the bonus spar, it will continue similar to the process of the other competitions.

    • You have until December 27 to post again with your character’s decision. In your reply, respond to the prompt and insert the following dice roll at the bottom of your post.
    • Code:
      [roll=1d20]

    • Bonus Round Results: On December 27, the NPC will post again with their own roll. Whoever rolls a higher number than the NPC gets to claim an additional “+1 - Win a match-up in a posted trade competition”.
    • This means that either one, both, or neither of you could earn an extra point for your team in the competition.
    • Failure to post in time will mean that the NPC assumes that they did not want to spar.
    • In the case of a tie being rolled, Staff will do a tie-breaker.

Calcifer was one of those types of people - who took whatever the world had to give her without complaint and when her opponent was declared winner, she offered @Smaug a crooked grin and a dip of her head in congratulations. The sting of claws on her shoulder weren't debilitating and as their host lay forth a second round, against him no less, she couldn't help the perk of her ears. Never one to take a loss as a bad thing, she was also never one to give up and that stubbornness had often resulted in a fair few bloodied noses along the way. "Ah'm game!" She chirped, once again launching herself into battle and coming at their host from the right hand side, aiming to wrap her much smaller body around the upper portion of his left leg to perhaps wrestle him into submission.

Victory always felt sweet, no matter how he achieved it. When it was declared that he was the winner, Smaug couldn’t help but give a little sneer. Ember eyes look over both @Calcifer and their host, watching them while the lion began to speak. He is now their intended opponent and the dragon waits for his turn. He is eager to get this show over with, and once the younger woman made her move he would move in turn. Smaug decides to come head on, wanting to shove his shoulder into the middle of the lion’s own chest, attempting to sway his balance and perhaps knock the air out of his lungs.
