“Bravo, and congratulations to the winning competitors from round two!” The lioness proclaimed after a long, indecisive moment of contemplation, identifying each of them with a nod and a pointed toe. They certainly were not making it easy on her, narrowing things down in an attempt to make just one of them the ultimate practitioner of their trade – but it was a job that had to be done! For the sake of them, and for the sake of this entire competition – because not having any winners would make this whole effort rather moot, now wouldn’t it? “For those of you that aren’t continuing, thank you for joining us today. Keep improving on your skills, advancing, and working to be the best.”

Glancing towards the final two – their new pairing made evident, as a result – the lioness would settle just beyond the touch of the moonbeams, smiling warmly before finally speaking again. “For your final round, and to determine the winner of the bard trade competition, your task is this: pick any skill of your choosing and put it on display for us. Consider it a free-form talent show!” She exclaimed, her voice buzzing as she anticipated the final round of the competition. Because what better way was there to honour the spirit of bards than to let them showcase a skill of their choosing and entertain them all in the way that they knew best. “Good luck, and start whenever you’re ready!”

They went back and forth for a time, with their "insults" and while it was fun and something she'd never done before, Alvena wasn't entirely surprised that she wasn't chosen as the victor. Good luck! she said to the other woman, seeing that she was going on to the final round. She hoped Mavis won, if only because she'd had the pleasure of going up against her a moment ago. She certainly wasn't a sore loser.

She did have other things she needed to be doing, though, and so she turned to head back up to the Summit and see if she couldn't... well not get herself in trouble hopefully but at least find something to do.

He nodded in acceptance of his father's words, definitely planning on coming back to the Brook. His time in the Bluffs had been fun and all, but spending time with family was more fun.

He had to focus on his flyting at the moment, and surprisingly it was rather fun once he got over having to purposefully insult another. It was something he definitely wanted to do again because that seemed like fun to do when you'd agreed that this was all in good fun.

In the end, he didn't win, but that was quite all right considering it was his first time doing it. He could at least bow out peacefully and head out.

There was nothing quite like a bard competition. Mavis felt like every piece of her was ablaze with something akin to euphoria. She is practically vibrating in place after the 'flyting event' and turns her gaze expectantly to their leader of sorts. The next event would consist of her showing off any particular skills she possessed, and Mavis knew exactly what she wanted to do. The young leopardess wastes no time in waltzing across the 'room'. Her pace is languid and flowing, ethereal in appearance as she practically floats across the ground. Her tail dances to its own rhythm behind her, but all of it seems to be entirely in sync as she moves. For the moment it is easy to lose herself in her dancing as she continues to spin and twirl, a warm smile spreading across her face as she begins to put on a show to any who would remain to watch. When she finally does stop her heart is racing in the best of ways. She does one final twirl before halting, her large eyes landing on those around her, offering a tiny giggle before waiting quietly.

as the two finalists took in their task - thinking thoughtfully about what they were going to perform - the tradeswoman simply watched on in silent curiosity, motionless other than the occasional flicker of her wheaten ear and the idle twitching of her lips. When it was all said and done, however, the winner had become clear to her – through all of today’s tiny trials and tests, it was evident now, who would reign victorious. “Thank you both - that was a beautiful dance, and also a beautiful song.” the lioness hummed genuinely, glancing to each of the finalists in turn, before continuing.

“THOUGH IT’S NOT AN EASY DECISION, I have MADE ONE.” her tones vibrated evenly before a pause grew, hanging poignantly in the air between them until her focus shifted fully onto the smaller lioness, who stood to the side of the young leopardess . “CONGRATULATIONS - YOU HAVE SUCCEEDED IN ALL OF TODAY’S TASKS! BECAUSE OF THIS, YOU HAVE EARNED THE TITLE OF CHAMPION AND HAVE PROVEN YOURSELF AS THE BEST bard HERE TODAY.” and they had truly had earned it – though the tradeswoman could not deny that all of the performances today had been a pure joy to watch, and she had loved every moment of it. “THANK YOU BOTH, AND EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED. WHEN ALL OF THE COMPETITIONS HAVE ENDED, WE WILL FIND OUT WHICH PRIDE OR GROUP STANDS OUT ON TOP. I HOPE THAT OUR PATHS WILL CROSS AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.” she mused as a final thought, offering another nod and a brief smile, before turning and looking to make her way out through the caves. exit.
