Clambering up the steep rock-face, the maned lioness paused in a spot that proved a little more easy to breathe, gazing down into the ravine she steadied her balance just long enough to cast a beckoning call down-wind, seeking those who dared to conquer the rocky terrain.

Not a treck for the faint of heart indeed. That is why the stubborn girl had chosen to take it, albeit the fact her extra thick coat added more difficulty around the desert regions.

The gorge proved to have plenty of places she could train her strength. She'd chosen to push some bigger rocks around, until her muscles screamed in agony and she had to thirstily drink from the river that streaked across the territory. The call for a hunt caught her off-guard, but she quickly redirected towards it. She was not surprised to see the familiar lioness calling for it. Runa stood in wait for others to arrived, while using the time to sharpen her talons in silence. They would as much sharpness as possible.

It was harsh here but necessary. With the rest of Amaryllis nearing it's yearly dormancy, any plant life that could be found here in the desert was bound to still be thriving. As much as one could thrive in a desert anyway.
She searched for anything useful that she could take back home. Her collection of herbs wasn't extensive but slowly it was coming along. She was no healer by any means but she knew her way around a few plants. Things to help lionesses give birth and make cubs strong. Things she had learned from her mother. It took quite a bit of searching but eventually she found at least one plant that could be of use. Once she snagged it, ears perk to the familiar call.
Neytiri stashed her find before going and joining the hunting party. Greetings again. She chirped. At this rate you should join Ecrosia as one of our huntresses. She chuckled lightly. Nothing more than gentle conversation with an even gentler suggestion.

Each step came with a plea to a higher power that usually only Hekate prayed to, for a grace she only pretended to have. A few rocks crumbled underneath her red-stained paws and tumbled sharply into the ravine below. Ianthe tucked her herb satchel more closely against herself - she had spent a good amount of time digging those birthing herbs out of the stubborn ground , she was not going to lose them to a careless misstep.
And she didn't want to fall herself, of course, but she figured that went without saying.

The narrow pathway opens up slightly, enough that Ianthe is no longer asking for benediction. She sighs, relived to have made it, and then joins the small hunting party,
"Neytiri," she greets the fellow Ecrosia lioness. It was nice, to see a friendly face in such a hostile landscape.

she had been picking aloe vera by the dozens after she spotted them before she saw the others. there was quite a gathering happening of lionesses. olympia didn't want to become a distraction and intrude, but she was certain they might be waiting for a hunt to happen. just as it was, lorien plains were slowly getting diminishing supplies from within their food cache. wouldn't it be nice of olympia to re-stock some for her pride mates? then they could thank her for her work after they eat their fill. with that thought in mind, olympia swiveled her satchel to her side and joined the group with a pep in her step. ever the attentive medic, she lingered close to the land's plants, her sight caught on a desert dates. she closed her eyes but found herself peering at it with one eye. Valeria had seen more of her siblings recently, saw how strong and capable they were. How they seemed to fit alongside their father, brough pride and honor to their family, and it made her feel ashamed for how little she had done. Of course she was still young, but she hadn’t even tried very hard to learn. Not like even Mateo had, and she felt a need to prove herself. That was what brought her close as others began to gather for a hunt. She’d helped with a hunt at home, had felt the rush of excitement at having been a part of such an amazing feat. She wanted to see how far she could ride that high, wanted to do her best to learn what she could and find her place not only in the Summit, but in the greater world around her.

Lune wasn't sure what drew her back to the dunes. Something about the burning red sand seemed to quiet all of the thoughts screaming inside her head. This time she was drawn further into its red depths, toying with gravity as she walked the rocky path. She remembered coming across aloe the last time she was in this region. So now as she pushed on, she wasn't quite sure what to expect. Her eyes travelled over the rocky terrain. Her brow arched at the unimpressive showing. There was not much in the way of flora as she surveyed the land.

Little puffs of pink flower stood out brightly. Lune gave into their pulsating call and sauntered away from the rocky ledge and on to more solid ground. The golden girl worked with a quick touch to snap off the branches. It looked like gambier. Boredom overtook her as she absentmindedly completed her collection. A soft breeze ruffled the flowers. Something, some smell caught her attention. Hmm smells like it could be something tasty. Lune tucked her spoils away and turned in the direction of the breeze. She paced forward for a little while seeking the smells only to see that she would joining a group of gathering lions, all interested it seemed in the same goal. A new hunt, a new chance to catch something delicious and original.

Every hunt seemed much less the same but the girl participated in it no less. Gravitating to the group with only the interest of getting some exercise in but the second she saw @Aphid, her heart pounded and her lips turned into a smile. Aphid! she whispered, not so quietly, as she moved passed a few of the hunters in a somewhat crouched position to situate herself close to her half-maned half-sister. Happy to see a familiar face and not all concerned with the how ya doin and what ya up to's. Clearly, her sister was doing fairly well for herself and was going to lead the hunt which was so cool. Perhaps if she wasn't supposed to be super quiet she might've screamed to everyone a big that's my sister!

The canyon was a beautiful sight.. Bright painted colors streaked down the sides, warmed by sun and witness to moon and stars. Dio sat near the wall, a mash of berry paint bring smeared in long strokes across the stone as she prayed. Maua, we thank you for the day and the night. We thank you for our family and food - speaking of, in the middle of her rite a hunting party begins to gather. Well usually results of prayer weren't so obvious and quick but Dio would take it.

Keep the hunters safe, may the death be painless. She concludes she shakes the extra paint from her paw before tracing the steps of others to join the party.

It was dangerous business trying to walk among the cliff ledges of the canyon. But he was a young lion full of unashamed confidence. Indestructible. Immortal. Not because he was that cocky, but because that was just the way the youth worked. Life was seemingly endless when you had no real responsibilities holding you back.
He moved as gracefully as one without any sort of practice could. Occasionally would he slipped and send loose rocks tumbling to the ground below. When he looked down to inspect the damage he had caused, he was rather embarrassed to find a group not far beneath him. Whoops. He muttered with flattened ears. Hopefully he hadn't just ruined anything for them. Vellen, hear me. Lift whatever bad luck I may have given them. Might as well right his wrong while he was at it.
Asbjørn climbed his way down to join what he could now see was a hunt. Bless us. Vellen. Let us crash down upon our pray like an angry wave. Vaguely he wondered if Vellen was even the right Deity to speak to. He was pretty far from any ocean after all.
