With fall around the corner, Kireena knew that prey might start moving along and she didn't want to see the pride suffer for lack of food. So the red giant would chuff - to call towards the lions of the rainforest so they could work on filling their stores before the winter really started to set in. Now, she doubted that Firnen would be overly cold once winter did hit - given the usual warmth of the place.. But that didn't mean that prey wouldn't still be scarce. So she would settle to her hips to wait for others to arrive - enough to make a hunting party before stepping away.

Should one better versed in hunting wish to step forward and lead, she would absolutely not say no. Kireena knew she wasn't the best hunter and perhaps not the best to lead such an endeavor - but still things did have to be done, so she would intend to do them.

Rainhart has healed significantly since the Andal Challenge. He had not dwelled on his defeat long, but it had left the dark man needing time to recover. The fresh scars were ugly and had left torn lacerations through his mane that would likely never grow fur again. But he wears them without disgrace, as he had all his old scars.

The cold weather is not far off, and although not a habitual hunter either, he was not going to ignore the need to pull his weight once more. Especially as he had been recovering for some time.

The dark beast greets @Kireena with a low rumble from in his throat as he emerges from the damp ferns.

He was doing a lot better. Healed enough that nobody could give him dirty looks for doing anything other than resting. And resting was boring after the first few days, so Ryker was bordering on stir-crazy when the soft call reached him. A hunt was always a decent distraction for a few minutes.

Upon arriving, he was pleased to find @Rainhart there, too. The dark male would get a nod and a light smile as Ryker joined the pair, Hey. You're looking better. Healing was probably about the only acceptable excuse for fading into the background as a ranked member, but the guy had earned a little lenience for jumping in to avenge Levana, and allow him an opening and time to get the her and cubs out of the oasis.

Floppy ears perked when the call sounded. The large girl hadn't been idle, keeping herself quite busy with studying plants she'd gathered. There was still so much to learn. Her face scrunched up as she tried to sort a few of the plants in front of her, trying to remember their different uses. Oh, right...the call. Plants were hastily stored away before she made her way towards her mother's call.

Normally she'd be found bounding through the forest in a game of parkour, but not today. She knew what the call meant and that with the change of seasons, the prey was growing scarce. No reason to help that along by scaring any potential prey away. And so the bronze girl could be spotted stalking towards the group.

A small snort in greeting was given to @Ryker, though she did eye @Rainhart for a moment. Still a stranger to her, but he too was greeted briefly as she came up next to @Kireena before nudging her nose against the larger woman's shoulder.

Well. Turned out one warthog was more than a match for several lions. Maybe it was a case of having too many large bodies going after one small one, but however it happened, the pig escaped and Ryker was left winded and disgruntled. Though the frustration was more at himself than the failure of a hunt - maybe he really did need a little more rest before jumping back into things.

There were no sarcastic comments - or any comments at all, really. He simply watched the warthog disappear with a small frown before turning to stalk back toward the rainforest. They'd just have to try again another day.
