Ah, with a fresh coat of paint smell Daneri was on the move towards the outer territories. The pride that she had joined was a lot more bare of lions than she had anticipated but she was certain that that was a good thing. It made more sense that she could hound it over others that she was a longer-time member than anyone else who joined after her.

Lifting her nose up as she traveled near to the base of the Peaks, Daneri's eyes kept spiraling upwards to gaze at the clouds that whistled far above her. Beautiful in their darkness as they threatened to spill their long-awaited tears and Daneri hoped they would. Rain did little help for her coat but she loved the way it smelled before, during and after the rain. Everywhere she looked from here, it appeared as though clouds and potential rain was the only option for the day and Daneri hoped that that might be the case.

The peak, was not something that Enver had really explored- even when he lived in the plains and among the fields with his family. Now, that he was... sort of hanging about the area- confident that his dad wouldn't tell him to leave, if he visited... because that's his dad, right? He had veered towards the mountain that loomed- and begun climbing. It wasn't really done with any intention, just wandering and exploring. He had picked up his pace, moving into a jog to practice his speed, as he went up and and up- his breath coming out in low puffs. When he slowed, he noted the scent of his... dad's pride! He hoped it would be Violarum, that he could talk to him post victory, but...

It wasn't! Another breath, told him it was someone else and so he approached, letting out a soft chuff as he saw a lioness near his age, he guessed, looking up at the sky. "Hey." He said, glancing up too, at the clouds that threatened to spill rain, as he approached. He studied them for a second, and looked to her- studying her instead. "You're in the plains?" He asked curiously.

The last thing she expected was to find someone all the way up here on the Peak. Especially when rain seemed quite imminent and there was no doubt in her mind that it was going to be a lot colder up here than down there when it started. So as her gaze t raveled the expanse of the sky and looked to the angry clouds, not knowing how long she had until her fur would start to get drenched. Nose quick on the swivel of her head as she locked eyes with the "hey-er" and she blinked, not quite sure how to handle strangers still. Damn. The scent's already stuck. She sighed, rolling her eyes and gave a comical shrug. Suppose I am, yeah. Not that she would risk her life and limb for any of them but she supposed that she was "in the plains" now to non-Plains lions. @Enver

Of course he's oblivious to any thought that she wouldn't want the world to know what pride she was in. Lorien was one of the coolest, he was sure. So his grin comes easily, and his words friendly. "Violarum- the king, is my dad." He says with happy shake of his body, as he sits neatly. "I'm Enver, but I live in the Hollows." Yeah, so he didn't live with his dad, but he still super supported the plains. "What's your name?" He follows up, quite deciding to make a friend whether or not she wanted one. "Whatcha doing up here?" He asks, looking around. He supposed it was nice enough but still...

Oh shit. the maned-yearling replies somewhat sarcastically as though she was meant to be impressed by it. Are you really? From these few words she begins to look at @Enver a bit differently. He was "attractive" in the "he's a man" sense but the knowledge that it was the High Sovereign Violarum's kid didn't exactly make her think anything more of him. Violarum was rather stupid and oblivious. Big muscle brain that legit only had a singular brain cell, it was hard not to assume that this one was the same. I'm Daneri... she almost spoke her last name and would've expressed that she's a Frei but not related. At least, not as far as she could tell and quite frankly it bothered her greatly that she didn't know if she was or not. Keeping a distance from the world. This seemed like the best spot. Sarcasm is so lost on the sunset male, as he nods seriously to the young female. He speaks without thinking, really, as she talks. "Yeah. I know. I don't look anything like him really." Except his size, maybe. He wasn't as thick as his dad but almost as tall- yeah. "Daneri. Cool name. Like really cool." He says with a grin, because she was totally gonna be his friend. "It is cool, I guess. I like caves and to explore. Why you wanna be alone, huh?" He asked, his head tilting a bit to the left. "I like being around my pride. I have this one friend, and she's pretty cool and teaches me a lot of scouting stuff. Yeah." He adds, because he's a bit of a dolt and doesn't know what to say.

The real question was did their brains look like the same? Microscopic, struggling to breath? Mm. She mumbles, giving him an answer without giving him an answer. Mostly to avoid being unnecessarily mean to him without getting all the details first. If anything, she was picking up on some very subtle Vio-vibes. Thanks. It's a combination of an old ancestor of mine. That, actually, gave @Enver a small bit of bonus points. No one had ever complimented her name before and thus she had never gotten to show the pride she felt for being named after him.

That question, however, was a good one. Why did she want to be alone? Her immediate answer wasn't nice but it was true. I don't know. It's nice and quiet. and everyone else to talk to always seems too busy for the likes of me but she could never admit that. Daneri Frei had confidence in spades, at least the extrovert version of her. She was fearless and wasn't scared of anything, but sometimes that nasty voice told her that she wasn't worth hanging around.

So, in a way, it made her insanely jealous that he had a friend that was pretty cool and taught him scouting things. Oh yeah? she asks, taking the moment to sit down. Like what? Yeah, prince-not-prince, do tell. In the corner of her brain she is immediately reminded of the girl that she'd met. The Princess.... Anne? Ericson? Whatever her name had been, she had called herself a princess which meant that they were likely siblings. She'd have to poke that shit in a second, for sure.

Daneri,. Daneri, Daneri

No he wasn't practicing her name in his head, considering the way the sound of it rolled across his tongue. No one could prove that, and because he's lost in his head, he takes a minute to realize she's talking about her name. "Oh cool." He offers lamely. "It sounds cool. Da-ner-i" He pronounced it once more, slowly, and carefully. "I like it. What were your ancestors names?" He asks curiously, wondering what combination the name came from.

Then she's asking about his super special friend. Okay, yeah, he can remember. "So we explore a lot of caves right, because the Hollows is super cavey. And Juliette- that's her name- taught me to mark the caves and paths I've taken with stones, so we can find them again, and so that I don't get lost." He shares. Cool right?!

He lifts his head a bit, and considers her. "AND there's this super cool spot in the grove, where this deer was trapped in this hole and I was like... well, I guess I gotta jump down there, and Juliette, was like Nah, Enver use your BRAIN, and well we used a branch so I could jump down and kill it, and then climb back. Because man, she sure knows a lot." He is super proud of his friend, can't you tell?

A part of her was surprised that he was taking such an interest in her name. Most never did and so her knee jerk reaction was that he was making fun of her or mocking her. That instant was slowly being melted as he then asked of her ancestors name and the corner of her mouth slowly turned upwards. I'm named after a great great great grandfather, she didn't know how many greats actually, his name was Eridanus. Would he connect the dots to how her name had come to be? The Dan plus the Eri? Perhaps if she had been born a boy she might have been exactly that name but Daneri felt perfect. Any other name wouldn't feel as right.

While it wasn't family that he talked about, she offered him as close to the same interest as @Enver showed her. Listening to everything that he had to say about his friend where he was from. How they explored and adventured, that's very smart. She added quietly as he explained that his friend, Juliette, taught him quite a few things about how to mark his path inside of the caves. As it were, marking her path in the Plains would likely end up failing because it wasn't easy to get lost. She sounds like she has quite a big brain. As most females did, whereas men (and she feels it emphasized in the presence of a piece of spawn from Violarum) didn't always seem to have any bigger than a squirrel's turd.

He thinks about that name, and the name that the female has. Daneri. Though, he isn't one for super deep thoughts, he can consider that the names are similar. Yeah, that sounds good. Similar. He is his father's son after all. "Daneri is cooler, I think." He says with a grin. A cheeky sort of grin, but a grin none-the-less. But yeah, Dani... Eri... he could hear. "Dani..eri.." He mutters, still trying to puzzle it out because this wasn't the type of thing he spent much time considering.

But about scouting and Juliette? Yeah, he could talk about his great friend all day. "Yeah, the Hollows has a lot of cave systems and it's mostly dark. So the rocks really helped to mark the paths, and lead us to some super cool caverns." He reiterates. "I'm trying to use this out in the other territories. Scratch trees, rocks, stack branches. Mark important trails." He nods, because scouting was his passion and the sense of adventure that came with it. "Juliette is super smart. Like, the smartest." And he was... a bit dim in the head, but not the dimmest, right?
