Lucien didn't expect to find himself in such an odd place, but he knew it was best that he explored every part of Amaryllis his paws could reach. Dun body moved through the rows of cacti in a delicate manner, not wantin' to find himself bein' pricked and poked. He'd come across these hardy plants before in his travels long before he came to this land, and out of all of those times he never came out unscathed and without some spines burrowed into his skin.

Lucien ceases movement when he comes to a small clearin' that was within a circle of cacti, golden eyes observin' his immediate surroundin's and allowin' for the sun to bathe him in warmth. Even though he was in the part of Amaryllis that typically stayed hotter than the rest, there was a slight chill hangin' around in the air, and havin' sunshine envelop him was like a breath of fresh air as it warmed and help loosen tight muscles.

This land was much different than the shores he had been lounging about on. This was nearly the opposite. With no water in sight and nothing but sand until the eye couldn't see any more. And on occasion was there a plant but they poked and prickled at him when he walked by, pulled at his tail even and it caused him to growl and grumble. He focused on the plants that poked him and didn't even realize he had come into company. Zsolt was getting tired of being poked and pulled on. Zsolt didn't know what a desert was as he hadn't passed through any to get here.

Lucien had taken to sniffin' at a soft pink colored flower that grew from a cactus' stem when the sound of pawsteps and disgruntled noises caught his attention. Muscles tense slightly as eyes shift over in the direction his ears caught the sounds, a brow risin' as he watched the gray furred lion catch himself on the spines. He'd have to stifle a deep chortle due to the fact the other was so close, and instead clears his throat to announce to the stranger that he was no longer alone. "They look more innocent than they really are, eh?" A lighthearted jest, the cowboy testin' the waters to see what type of personality and attitude the younger lion had.

A cleared throat caused him to stop in his tracks and look up to see the dun lion. His mismatched eyes narrowed on the other lion before blinking and pulling his tail out of another cactus. You could say that. He would remark to the other, a grumble coming out of his throat once again. Once he was free, Zsolt would remove himself from the cluster. He rumbled and shook himself out to make sure nothing was still in his thick fur. If they didn't hurt and I would've up rooted it. It was the honest truth. He hated those things now that he was aware of it.

A good-natured chuckle escaped this time around, Lucien watchin' as the man freed himself and spoke of uprootin' them if it weren't for them bein' so prickly. "You'd hafta dig a wide hole around it deep enough to make it fall over." Would that really work? Lucien had no idea, but it went with what he knew about diggin' and what he knew about gravity, and if somethin' didn't have somethin' else to keep it steady and upright it would eventually fall. But Lucien was also not aware of the thick roots that were buried deep into the dry ground, and maybe those would continue to keep it upright.

"I've learned to be nimble around them." And despite his large size, the cowboy was relatively skilled at dodgin' the spines - mostly. Every now and again he'd forget just how close he was to them and would bump into them, cursin' and growlin' as he felt the all too familiar sting. "What's brought you out here?" Because obviously it wasn't for the greenery.

@Lucien spoke of having to dig something deep enough and big enough to have this damn thing fall over but just like his company, Zsolt was unaware of the thick roots that dug themselves into the ground to hold the cactus up to begin with. A grumble formed as Zsolt glanced around. He knew that his family was close to the earth, knew what it meant to his family but this place was a prickly place he wished to stay away from. Removing himself from the cactus even more, making sure his longer hairs didn't catch anymore Zsolt would venture closer to Lucien. In truth, I'm only exploring this new land. Familiarizing myself with it. You?

Ah, so this man was relatively new to Amaryllis? "A bit of the same, though I've been here for some time." Lucien couldn't remember when he'd come back but it was quite a while ago, but even with bein' here for a long time he still hadn't explored the whole of these lands just yet. "So yer new?" A question to further confirm his assumption. As he waited, Lucien would take the time to circle around a cactus while also makin' sure he wasn't goin' to bump into any others. Golden eyes observed the large desert plant, takin' in the fineness of the spines; it was funny to him how such a small, thin thing could cause so much irritation and pain.

So they seemed to be doing the same thing and yet it was Zsolt was the one unfamiliar with these things and getting poked at every turn he made. Mismatched jewels watched as @Lucien walked around one of the spiked plants and Zsolt would answer him. Fairly new. He would admit watching his company with a close eye but also would glance around. There was much to see here but at the same time, nothing at all. It was rather boring in fact, so he would glance back to Lucien to find conversation. So what are these called? A legitimate question to be honest and he wanted to know.

So the other was relatively new to Amaryllis but that was all he was goin' to say about it. Lucien wasn't goin' to press; if the man wanted to tell him more than he would. A soft chuckle escapes him when the lion asked what all the plants are that were all around them. "They're called cactus - cacti when there's more than one." A forepaw lifts from the rough ground and gestures toward the cacti, golden eyes flickin' between them and the man. "Never came across them before?" Brow quirks as Lucien asks, wonderin' if he had never seen them or just never got the name of what they were called.

@Lucien didn't press for more information and Zsolt was just fine with that. It wasn't really anyone's business on how long her had been here or not. But was important was the information that he was being given about the cacti that was before him. His mismatched jewels glanced around as he spotted the plants and how they were prickly. Ears twitching in his mane as he would hear a question from Lucien. First time for me. He would lie about that. Why lie about seeing a plant when it was fairly clear that he hadn't seen one by the question he asked. I didn't travel through any deserts on my way here. He would admit that small information.
