Livyatan heard the call go up and was on his feet immediately heading towards it. If just to watch and see who might take up the mantle this time. Though be wondered where that other fellow had gone, maybe the storm was too much? A thoughtful hum rumbled from his throat while he entered the coves territory. Pausing to scratch his nails on a nearby tree, sharpening them and making a mocking display in the same instant. Approaching the area where the others had gathered he found a washed up log nearby, climbing onto it ignoring the way the wood creaked and groaned to take his bulk. Ears flicking listening for anyone who might approach him, his claws again digging into the damp bark below him.

The strong scent of a storm that had passed was what originally lured Larkspur from her hiding place. The teen was looking a little leaner than usual, she hadn't seen Orson in ages. Or at least that was what it felt like. And being on her own was clearly not suiting the teen. Still she walked the beach of the cove collecting seaweed as she went, it was amazing how much had washed up! But the sounds of fighting ahead made her frown, oh another one of these then?

with the seaweed draped across her shoulders and mid back the teen made her way towards the cacophony of sounds. a mildly concerned look crossed her facial features, the lions here sure liked tossing their weight around huh? Larkspur would find a seat out of the way, brushing some sand off a piece of driftwood she would then use as a cushion. That too would be coming back with her.

Toblerone didn't know how much sway the gray male @Adeodatus had with the Mire leadership proper but even if he did, he somewhat diverted her attempt to shimmy a little gossipy claw in there. Drat. If he'd wanted this place, she could spin that information somehow. And did she want it? Well, she'd run here and was still nearly out of breath, the edges of her lungs simmering too much to blame on merely the morning. But she wanted it like she wanted everything: just to hold for a moment until it stopped being shiny. "Maybe," she chanced, not caring enough to even shrug. The sand was quite soft, pillowing her toward the temptation of sleep. Words trailing, tumbling with suggestion that flowed to tongue as quickly as they came to mind. "I would need to get a witch or warlock or something. Someone to cast spells to keep the storms away." And someone to worship at her paws, of course.

"Well, there's that guy -" huge, dark, and announcing himself on the wave of a coming roar. The female was also large and comparable in strength to him, but she seemed more opportunistic and crafty while big dude seemed angry. Emotions were a burden. "I'm putting a shell on the lady." She blinked and lifted her head to see better.

It was a miracle she made it out of the Cove in time because she nearly fucking drowned in her den. With her injured ribs and healing wounds, she managed to half run and half swim her way out of danger as the waves surged in. She noted that most of the pride made it out safe, but she didn't see Gauthier among the lions gathered when she returned to their old sands. In the midst of the sand, though, was Keligan facing some other lioness that she didn't know.

"Tritt ihr in den Arsch!"" Valaine yelled out before ducking behind some dry crabgrass, slowly laying down due to her still aching injuries. She was looking to lay low and not pique anyone's intent to fight her. She'd remain here and watch the fight until she knew for sure that Caladan Cove was no longer her home.

The dry grass was pokey, yellowed, and brittle, and for a moment while those who'd fight for the Cove settled into their stances, she studied it and wondered how it survived this far into the winter season. Granted, it didn't look that great and she assumed that if she rolled around in this patch, she'd probably break every single lingering blade in half.

I came & conquered what you thought was safe

The season’s weather has been particularly bad that was for sure but he hadn’t expected it to displace anyone from the cove. Least of all the whole pride? Dagge was nearby when he heard the call from the lioness claiming it. This made him give pause and so he roared to those of the lagoon to let his queens and anyone else that could hear him that he was going to go check it out. Moving forward he strolled with haste towards the crowd just in time to see Keligan arrive to challenge. Good. "You got a good bite Keligan. You can do it. For your home and those you care about!" He cheered on the blue maned lions. It hadn’t been long ago that the two had talked about Keligan going after cove heir. It seemed that, that step was not necessary now and being skipped even so he still supported the man.

( Dagge is watching & open for interaction, I prefer not to have him get into a fight unless you are willing to spree it. )

Ah, so instead of a female fighting a female it was a male that took up that mantle. Interesting. @Toblerone spoke which caused one of his ears to twist towards her but his gaze stayed on the two challengers. He didn't really know either one so even when Toblerone put her bets on the lady, Adeodatus just shrugged his shoulders. Storms will come regardless of your witch or warlock. He would state to her bluntly. So far, Gauthier had not been the only one that had lost the Cove to the sea and its storms. So what would stop more storms to come back again to retake what it once owned.

Tilly remembered Caladan Cove. It had been many years since she’d last roamed these lands but she had a distinct memory of attending a challenge here. She didn’t clearly remember the fight, but she had remembered Bhas, Conrad, Aries, Ryuu and even Baby getting into some trouble over a little white scrap of fur - a cub.

So when this new call rises and she is meandering the coast, the strawberry woman trots off to investigate.

When she arrived, there was a deep red lioness and a steely-toned male facing off, though no fight had yet begun. Finding no familiar faces, Tilly flits through the gathering crowd for a moment, before coming to settle by herself. She kept an eye out for interesting or more approachable types. After all, the sea breeze in the dead of winter was making her lack of fur quite cold and if she could find somebody to cuddle up to, it would make this little bit of entertainment a million times better.

Well, the fall of the Cove was mildly disappointing and concerning all at once. She'd been hoping to meet with the king and forge an alliance. Now she approached the sands as lions gathered, drawn in by the sudden lack of energy coming from the now-empty pride lands. They were like flies drawn to rotting flesh, vultures waiting to pick a carcass clean. The first who stood to claim was a woman Tiamat recognized but did not know. It was enough, however, that Tiamat knew she was associated with Ronin. No, Tiamat much preferred the man who approached to challenge her. @Keligan would be open to an alliance, and so she was there to back him today.

Her eyes scanned the crowd for lions she recognized, and she saw that @Dagge was present, also cheering Keligan on. She slithered forward, moving among the small crowd, and came to stand beside her gentry, making it clear that she agreed with him. She believed Keligan could do this, and though she remained silent it was clear that she was hoping he would pull off a victory.

The sound of the challenge reached his ears and it was as foreign as everything in this land felt. This was hid father's homeland and Nathaniel was excited to look around and explore. It has been a few days since he had joined a pride, a place to call family. Something to work for and thing to achieve. His blood boiled with excitement.

First thing's first though. He had to gather information. With a few seconds spared on debating whether he should or shouldn't go, the decision was made and the Darksidy was on the move. It took him awhile navigating through the terrain and trying to find the source of the call and the place it was attempting to claim. By the time he neared the scene there was already a crowd. Green eyes followed over the unfamiliar faces as he came a bit closer, but kept his distance still.

He could feel the tension in the air, the stench of need for power. He scrunched his pale nose and seated himself down, ears perked forward, taking in the unfolding scene and parts of conversations he could hear from his position.

she had followed tiamat when the call for the cove's disbandment came, and saw already two lions who've staked their claim. if fernweh had waited, if she had been patient, then she would have been in the ring. the cove had been her childhood home, this should be her in there. the thought made her heart churn and a wave of bitter tide ebbs through her veins.

it didn't matter now, she realized. the lagoon was her home and her children were safe with her.

who're you rooting for? fernweh asked @Tiamat as she slid next to her, before lowering her haunches. she thought she saw both lions in her challenge, but she wasn't sure. everything beyong tiamat and those she cared for were dappled colors - shapeless and surreal. her eyes turned to keligan, before she said that man seems strong.
