Every night, he falls into the habit of not being able to rest, or fall asleep. Tossing and turning in his make-shift den, until the wolves and owls all whistle their warnings. It seems to keep him awake, well into the hours of the night. Awake enough, to get up and prowl beneath the moonlight. It's well past midnight when Harou pulls away from his almost-slumber. It's dark and deep and religiously blue, when nightfall descends his wintry flesh. He shakes out his mane, allowing the dust to settle all around him, before Harou leaps into the night. He heard something - and it must be real. It's not his dreams, that keep him awake, this time. No, this time, he scouts up ahead, eager to find the source of his distraction.

With the sun taking a breather every now and then from working so hard in its summer months, sunbathing and taking naps didn't seem to happen all that often. A poor and unfortunate thing, mind you, for Zelda was nothing without those moments of recharge. With that she supposed that wandering after a piece of prey was a nice change and she supposed she could at least do one more. One of the individuals that she kept seeing roaming around and killing everything he stumbled across was present. To which she tried to give @Harou a subtle nod of her head in acknowledgement before she looked to the prey. Offering him a gesture that she was here to help.

With the days growing colder, Kian sets a relentless pace across the firm shoreline. Deep-set tracks where he has stepped stretch out behind him in a long line, petering out beyond the sandy horizon line. Now day is ebbing away, and the sweat matting his bronze fur brings a biting chill to his skin. Somewhere in the dusk, there is a stir of sound. Renewed alertness comes into his keen eyes as he diverts his course. Among the charcoal boulders, shadowy figures are pulling free from the blackness, and he unflaggingly strikes off toward them, adjusting his tread accordingly in case of a prospective hunt.

The pale mantle of @Harou has become an increasingly familiar sight on nights such as these. Hubert has come to learn that wherever the beast shows up, the scent of blood is sure to follow.

It's pretty convenient, actually. Sticking to what shadows he can find away from the moonlight, the young Prince steps his way dexterously around the rocks and pools of this place, briefly tilting his skull to consider the silver sheen atop the water. It seems a clear reflection now, but Hubert remembers the sight of the various treasures that lay beneath the surface. Just as he remembered the one who had first shown them to him, though she too had proven to be as intangible as starlight, disappearing with nary a trace. Females are such fickle things, he thinks.

But that's neither here nor there, not tonight. He falls into step alongside the ghostly man with a slight incline of his head in acknowledgement, his gaze flicking briefly towards the Andal woman and the orange yearling both before narrowing his focus down to whatever unfortunate prey had thought it'd be safe to wander about in the dark this time.

Once again passing through the tidepools and heeding her sovereign's warnings of moonseed and its poisonous tendencies, she still could not deny that it was an intriguing concept of a plant. It was a vine-like plant that looked so beautiful in its place with brilliant milky purple flowers that were almost so pretty to not touch or keep. It's beauty lured you right in so that you might find safety in its perfection when its fruits and its seeds could cause you nausea, vomiting and might even be fatal if you take the wrong dosage for how much you weighed or how weak your immune system already was. Perhaps that was why the scents of the other lions around was a nice distraction, otherwise she was certain it might just draw her in. Moving away from its unruly and entrancing web of vines, preparing herself to assist in another hunt.

Beggars can't be choosers, and neither is he.

Hunger coupled with curiosity lured Dumah onward through the night. The chill breath of winter is easily felt beneath the moon's uncaring gaze. Rough sand parted beneath tired limbs, lost to the rhythmic tread of the wanderer. The loner's life was dogged by uncertainty, but it also provided a willingness to look past law and structure. Without the security of a pride to provide for, hunting had become a frequent necessity. No longer does he care for where the food comes, he staked his life on the gathering of strangers and scavengers alike.

Dumah's paws slip into disturbed earth, and an investigatory sniff confirmed his suspicion. Following the trail of larger prints brought him to the coastline and the scent of lions. Dumah's pale gaze narrowed as he tried to ascertain the others, but they are nothing more than suggestions and shadows in the gloom.

Alexander felt obligated now to start bringing back food to the pride. Even if the others were not constantly hunting, it was one thing he did enjoy doing, despite his size. There was something about the thrill of taking down a beast - about being the reason the life left it's eyes. The beast was always, always grateful for any sacrifices these creatures offered and he would never disrespect their life or the gift they gave with it. Still, there was a guilty pleasure in it. Jaws part as he slides into the scene, coming up near the others but remaining silent - pale blue eyes scanning the horizon for any prospective prey. Were the others seeing something in the dark that he wasn't? Regardless, his body was on edge, ready to launch forward at any moment.

Moonlight glints off the tide pools and the ocean beyond, and it makes something tense creep up his spine. It makes him uncomfortable, strangely enough; all that sea-salt in his veins and yet the ocean 2as never a welcomed sight. He's been wandering about, having ng woken up form a late afternoon nap -- night had fallen while he snoozed, and now he was.. here. He should hewd back to the summit but he doesn't; all his chores and responsibilities could be pushed back until tomorrow.... or the day after... or the day after that. You know. Whenever he felt like. A big yawn stretches his muzzle as he falls into line, eager to help in this hunt tonighy; a good way to spend the night 2as always working towards a midnight snack.

It's melancholic the way the moon sits brightly in the tidepools on the beach, only disturbed by the gusting coastal breeze. It was quiet here, save for a few gathered at the end of the beach. There was much on Poltergeist's mind, and that was why he lingered so close to Caladan Cove, despite leaving a few months prior.

His lion scent cloaked with lemongrass - the kind he rolled in early for a failed attempt at another hunt - so he was confident whatever the pretty and striped male stalked ahead wasn't smelling him even if he was upwind. Poltergeist ducked behind a couple of rocks closer to the cliffside as he waited for the signal to begin, to stalk, to follow, to catch.

Sometimes when she couldn't sleep, she took to the beach - parts away from Caladan Cove so no one could question why she was wandering around. With wet fur from the sea and half of a care as to why anyone in their right mind would take a swim in the sea at this hour and at this temperature, Valaine found herself by the Tidepools, dodging the small (but deep) puddles in the sand. The coastal breeze tickled her damp fur, but the chill in the air bothered her very little. She had been soaking her scars, hoping that the saltwater would help make them fade a bit more.

She would have continued down the beach, wandering for the sake of her boredom had she not come across a group gathering under the moonlight. Masked with the strong scent of the sea, Valaine flicked her eyes to the group and its apparent leader, and then she dove behind some conveniently placed beach rocks, awaiting the start of such a hunt. She wasn't particularly hungry, but she wouldn't mind helping for the sake of entertainment.
