December 13, 2024 After winning the challenge for Wolfbron Bluffs and becoming the fourth Dieudonné to hold the crown, Lazare releases all the members and ends the longest standing pride's reign over the island. After seven years of the Bluffs being held by the same family, it now sits empty, waiting for the next chapter of it's leadership.

December 6, 2024 Death came to a witch hunter after she called for the death of Karsa, with Kvare answering it causing Miaran to fall. Lazare Dieudonné challenges Louve Dieudonné for Wolfbron Bluffs. Snow seems to be falling in the middle of the summer as strange animals show up and offer a tempting meal for those brave enough to jump in.

November 8, 2024 Scorpius has gone missing and in his place Zaahir steps up to take the throne of Andal Oasis. How this change of leadership will shake things up in the lands, only time will tell.

October 11, 2024 Something is happening in the Scorched Wilds. There is a battle raging between a familiar force and an unfamiliar one. What will you do? Help or hinder?

October 1, 2024 Spooky things are happening as the afterlife start walking among the living once again.

September 30, 2024 Louve Dieudonné manages to keep Wolfbron Bluffs in the family. What will happen between the Bluffs and the otherwise peaceful pride of Lorien Plains?

September 20, 2024 Ilarion Rurik challenges for Wolfbron, will the Dieudonné lead pride fall?

September 8, 2024War broke out once again in the Lagoon when a wedding had some uninvited guest arrive. The war results in the most death matches the island has seen at once. The Summit was challenged by Brighid with Talisa answering the call. After many years of the Summit have the same two leaders, the Summit changes hands. What will this mean for the balance of Amaryllis? A witch hunt has started by Luther and Miaran which seems to be turning things on an island that is full of magic.

August 25, 2024 War broke out in the challenge for the Lagoon after Cassius tries to take the Lagoon from Isla. The Cove remains with Miaran. The leadership of the Mire switches from Sigrún hold to Rike when Luther comes back to take his birthland back. Elephants push into the Rainforest and push out the lions there. Soon after Lucifer lays claim to his birthland and takes over the Rainforest.

June 27, 2024 Conflict and tensions rise as prides come head-to-head with one another across Amaryllis - just as Pyrrha and Cassius take the leap to try and claim (or reclaim) their own thrones.

May 24, 2024 Rulers continue to shift, family strife ensues, and, per usual, tensions seems taunt and always lingering on the horizon.

April 24, 2024 Things are rocky within Amaryllis as the Dieudonne clash result in three deaths and forces a shift in the rulership of Firnen Rainforest. With Caladan Cove freshly overturned as well, what will the consequenecss of these events be?

March 30, 2024 The lull has ended as a long standing family, the Dieudonné, launch death matches against their own. The Plains sees a challenge from a new comer, Aphrodite, and the quite pride is pushed into the spotlight.

March 19, 2024 A momentary lull has overtaken the lands of Amaryllis as its inhabitants attempt to find their footing and rebuild after a string of challenges. How long it will last, however, nobody can be quite sure.

February 11, 2024 The Mire has fallen from the Stärke family and is now held by Luther Rike. The change has stirred but the fighting nature of those on the island. The Brook finds a new leader with Icefang and Isla takes over the Lagoon after a storm pushes out the old leader. Reti finds himself the leader of the Hollows after Alexander is hurt. The Oasis finds a new leader in Léonie who is soon tested by Harou.

January 8, 2024 The snow has finally begun to melt anew, which means that the world is slowly returning to the much-anticipated summer season. With the various holiday activities and the other jests put on by Nafasi also coming to a close, it is safe to say that winter is finally over.

December 5th, 2023 Nafasi had pulled a cruel trick and has sent Amaryllis back into a renewed winter season! But it's not all bad, because the lands will also see a handful of holiday-themed events popping up as a result. To make things more interesting, a wayward trio of travlers have also arrived and are facilitating a mass competition between the prides, bands, and rogues -- formally dubbed the Amaryllis Winter Games.

December 2nd, 2023 The spring air brings forth a number of pride challenges. A familiar challenger for the Cove and the Oasis arrive to try to earn what they want. The new leader of the Lagoon is tested in battle as well. What changes will come from the challenges? Who will remain standing and who will find their world turned upside down?

November 27th, 2023 In a challenge between mother and daughter, the leadership of Wolfbron Bluff changes for the first time in 5 IC years.

November 22nd, 2023 Two death matches, one resurrection, and an almost-war later, the lands find themselves in a constant state of turmoil and calamity. Families have been torn apart and endless blood has been spilt; but how is it all going to end?

November 3rd, 2023 The lands stir violently as a death match rages on between Aeistrios Saxe and Morrigan Greyflood. Observers spill into the pit in droves to witness what will no doubt be a historic battle -- and it is clear that this familial fued is far from over, no matter who wins and who dies.

October 12th, 2023 With winter comes the surge of more pride challenges; Ludivine challenges Ryker for Firnen Rainforest and is victorious in her endeavors, meanwhile an outcropping of maims breaks out on the sidelines. In a shocking turn of events Luther returns to challenge Bruno for Ecrosia Mire, will the former heir prove victorious or has Bruno got what it takes to keep his brother's ambitions at bay? This has undoubtedly shaken things up as Bruno declares war against Andal Oasis and Allies in the process!

note — all are welcome, but please, be aware that Cake and I do have characters in AO and EM (aka, no claiming from EM pls). Also, please wait until Clodovea and Hana have been posted before bringing in your recruits!

Un tirra ual — the Land of Flowers ; the name danced upon the morning’s birdsong, but the bright and melodious trills were not what Saoirse Visala listened for. Green eyes scanned the early morning skies, skimming across tendrils of cloud until, at last, a flash of black sparked against the pale backdrop. The bird—a black-winged kite—gave a cry and banked, swooping low until it alighted on Saoirse’s pale shoulder in a flurry of trills. The lioness listened closely, gaze sweeping once in the direction of the sand bar that lay before them before turning back to where two of her cheeks—her children—awaited.

The small group had arrived under the cover of night, and while motherly—albeit, selfish—instinct had urged Saoirse to press onward, a whisper of the Great Winds had given her pause. Maybe, just maybe, the winds had whispered, this land—what lay beyond the stretch of sand and mist—could be the salvation they were looking for — what so many others in their now ravaged tribe were looking for.

“Artwh, Vizzishi,” Saoirse trilled softly as the black-winged kite alighted to the skies once more. Thank you. She watched the bird disappear amongst the clouds, then motioned for her daughters, @Clodovea and @Hana, to rise. As they laid beneath the stars, Saoirse had done her best to prepare them for what was to come — what might unfold. These lands were, undoubtedly, unlike their homelands; peace and equality would not reign as it had within their meadows and forests. Saoirse hoped for these things—such precious, familiar things—to gift to her daughters, their family — but the jeweled lioness was a pragmatist; she knew the likelihood of what—or who—was to greet them.

“Maka,” Come, she chirped, smiling softly. She pressed her nose to their cheeks in reassurance, and together, mother and daughters began the trek across the sand. Though she remained outwardly calm, tension roiled within her gut; her gaze shifted as quick as a hummingbird, flitting to and fro; here and there; left to right. With keen awareness, Saoirse studied the red rocks that rose up in the distance—noted the continuation of the rocks as the range curved inland—and as they neared the gap in its center, it became clear to the lioness that they had arrived at some kind of gateway.

Saoirse drew to a halt. “Kuuraa & shey,” Watch and listen, she instructed, the series of chirps and trills a whispering melody, “Leer keyta bwitidara cabe yel nani oowal que tirra.” Study their ways so we might understand this land. And with that, she returned to her guard, watching; waiting — the hope for their future but a tiny flame burning within her breast.

meadowlark fly your way down
i hold a cornucopia and a golden crown for you to wear upon your fleecy down
It was not at all in Clodovea's nature to be silent, but there was something about the towering red rock gate in the distance that held the girl's voice captive. Any time she set her eyes upon it, her stomach became alive with activity; the tickling butterfly wings of eager excitement and the cold wriggling worms of anxious anticipation alike. She had leaned on @Hana heavily at the times when the latter dominated, both figuratively and literally, her bony shoulder seeking out the comfort found in pressing into her sister's spotted one. Now so far from the land of their birth, Clodovea grounded herself in the familiar: the soothing scent of her littermate as she cuddled close; the musical rhythm of their mother's voice as she prepared them; and the kind, blinking eyes of the heavenly bodies as they watched over them from above.

At last—or, perhaps, too soon—the sun crested the horizon and ushered in a new day. A word from their mother called them forth, and it was @Saoirse II's gentle smile and comforting nudge that supplied her pale daughter with the courage to follow. The nearer they drew to the gate, however, Clodovea found that last night's anxieties began to melt away in the warmth of the early morning sun. There was something about the deep amber reflecting off of the rock face that captivated the young girl, setting her face alight with wonder. It just looked different in the daylight.

"Lua," she breathed through an awe-filled smile, lilac eyes trailing toward the northernmost peak of the gate. Beautiful. Good. Safe and secure beneath her mother's watchful eyes, the willowy youth was relaxed and at ease, free to swallow up the sight of her surroundings through wide, hungry pupils. A brief leaning forward of her ears was her silent acknowledgement of her mother's instructions, but otherwise she appeared blissfully unaware, lost in the mountaintops and clouds until there came something to bring her back down to earth.

Aflutter —— everything about Hana was aflutter. Her heart, her stomach, her nerves—even the very breath pooling within her lungs—rippled with the flurry of a hummingbird’s wings; the sensation had her spirits rising in eager anticipation and spiraling in desperation. She waffled between thoughts of wondrous adventures—of the souls she would meet and the stories she would hear along the way—and the oppressive silence threatening to pull her under if she lingered too long at its edge. Bathed in the glow of Viti’Vula, Hana had shared her hopes and worries with her sister, her littermate, but in the end, it had done little to soothe the flutter in the depths of her soul.

For, deep within the shadows of her heart, an emptiness stretched — an unending void yawned. She missed her homelands dearly—her father and her siblings, her tribe, even more—and while she knew that they would be together again, Hana could not help the fear that stirred within that void. So many questions—so many what ifs—and ——

No, came the fervent whisper of her mind, fierce and firm. No more could she dwell on what had been, no matter how joyful or cherished it was — not when those looming red towers beckoned them, ushered them forth. Like stone guardians, Hana thought as her blue gaze lifted to their peaks, which seemed to be just beyond the reach of the tendrils of clouds floating above. Hana slid her gaze sideways, to @Clodovea, and smiled to find that she, too, was entranced by the peaks; she leaned in, brushing her shoulder against her sister’s in search of her familiar comfort.

Ears flicked at Clodovea’s whisper, and perhaps, if Hana had not been entangled in the flutter of nerves, she would have shared the sentiment — for truly, the red peaks were unlike anything she had ever seen. Their homelands had been lush and green—thickly wooded—and what mountain ranges did rise in the distance were grey and snow capped. But now was not the time. With another small shake of her head, Hana turned her attention to their mother, ears tipping forward at the murmur of chirps and trills. She nodded, casting her gaze through the awaiting gateway, and suddenly found herself longing for the familiarity of her favorite brook, nestled amongst a quiet, flower-laden glen.

(This post was last modified: 03-12-2023, 09:12 PM by Reah.)
Reah found herself traveling to the passage once again. So far, her pride was small. It was to be expected, though.

But she was stubborn.

Now that she found herself on a shadowy throne, the woman felt the need to put in extra work. No matter what had happened prior, she didn’t think it was best to dwell on the past. Now, she needed to build her future. Her empire.

The dark, wispy tuft of her tail twitched slightly as she traveled. The scent of a few other individuals was strong. Her dark eyes glimmered with curiosity as she stalked forth, and before her were three women. Two of them were quite young, they seemed to look like yearlings.

The Arcane Queen was calm in her mannerisms, and she dipped her head in neutral greeting. Hello, welcome to Amaryllis, she spoke to them. They all looked rather similar, with spots upon their fur and soft colors. She had to guess that they were all related to each other, but at the same time, she didn’t want to exactly assume anything about the strangers just yet. My name is Reah, and I’m Sovereign of Lorien Plains. She offered them her name and her rank.

If you are in need of a home, I can offer you one. The Plains are quiet at the moment, as it is under a new reign, she explained to them. All the more to join, right? Gather numbers, strengthen the pride, and become one of the founders of a new empire. Why turn it down?

Her last foray here hadn't exactly been the best, but she had been determined to do what she could to help family. Scars littered her body from her various fights, showing her skill in protecting herself and her family. As she approached the Passage and spotted a trio of lionesses, two seeming to be yearlings themselves, the young Broon Queen also caught wind of a familiar scent. One she despised at this point over the chaos it's current bastard king had caused for her recently.

Holding her head high, Cassandra strode confidently forward and managed to catch what the other lioness was saying. Seemed like somehow that plum nastard had managed to get a lioness to like him enough to rule alongside him. How bizarre. She had doubted anyone would like a misogynistic jerk like him enough to even join his pride. But she kept those thoughts to herself, and kept her face neutral as she came up to the trio. "Cassandra Valour-Greyflood, High Sovereign and Queen of Vermeda Brook, a pride that has many members and been around for many generations under the same family." Cassandra said, glancing at the lioness from her peripheral vision. Normally she wouldn't present the Brook in such a way, but in a sitstuo like this she would do whatever she could to lure members from that bastard.

"The Brook is in a gorgeous forest, with a clearing in the middle and a brook passing through it that gives the land its name. We value each and every member, but will still offer sanctuary to those who are unable to pull their weight as well. We consider ourselves a sanctuary for those who need it." She added on, flicking an ear as she spoke. Surely there was value in a pride who had rarely fallen at all, and had mainly stayed under the same family in some way. It provided stability. "The Brook can offer stability to those underneath its banner." Cassandra added as well, figuring that could appeal to the trio at the passage.

He had fallen asleep in the passage, far too lazy to take the long trek home - and rather found a comfy spot to snooze his day away. He enjoyed it, but waking up under the cover of night from his nap had been a bit... off-putting. Groggy still, Aeistrios shook his head and body before beginning to make way towards home.

However, scents stopped him. Rogues - Reah , and the Brook. He was too much of a Saxe to turn away from a good time, and the plum brute had way too much fun in bringing stress to the lives of the Brook members. He'd not let them live easy, not when his bruised ego was still healing and this was his way of healing. Of getting back at them.

Ears swiveled forward to be attentive, and he arrives with a lazy smirk to his lips as he takes in the sight. Two yearlings, a lioness, Reah and Cassandra . The lioness instantly sparked his attention, and his gaze openly took in the appearance of @Saoirse II , her palomino frame seeming able and healthy. He walks up to @Reah then, coming to her side. He lets Reah have the power over this encounter - at least with the rogues - but Aeistrios puts his full attention on @Cassandra . A wicked gleam lights among his purple eyes, and Aeistrios is fond of seeing his scars litter her body. He wondered how much he'd have to anger her to get her to attack again, too. "I am surprised you have not gone into hiding yet, Princess." He rumbles out deeply, emphasis on his little nickname for her. Derogatory, disrespectful, showing her he did not consider her a Queen but rather a child playing pretend. Looking back to the rogues, he lets out a chuckle of amusement. "Just wait till you have to hear what she says about me, I am sure the lies will be grand." His attempt to manipulate the situation - the bend the truth of it all and hopefully the lionesses would see Cassandra as a crazed angry woman over someone spilling the truth and trying to keep them safe. Either way, Aeistrios saw no loss here - he'd be entertained regardless.

Ah, the passage. Her favorite place to go and see which tails she could pull and who she could tempt to join the Lagoon. It had been a bit of a shame during her last trip here to learn that Violarum had lost the Plains. She had rather enjoyed irritating him from time to time here.

She came early, approaching the sandbar that connected the island to the mainland at a slow, purposeful pace. Morning was drawing near, the soft call of birds echoing across the rocks that lined parts of the passage. The air was cool and calm; autumn was well underway now but she was in luck today. There were clouds but it was not raining yet, so the weather was pleasant even if it was cool. No doubt there would be rain later, as was often the case in the fall, but for now the sand was merely cool and not damp as she made her way deeper in.

Soon she heard voices, and her natural instinct lead her to approach them. Her eyes were shortly greeted by a small group that had gathered. A mother with two younger lions, perhaps only just yearlings, had approached the entrance to Amaryllis and had been greeted by several lions. She recognized @Reah, from her last passage trip, and of course she knew @Cassandra even if it had been quite a long time since their last encounter. How could she forget the lioness that, even as young as she was, had been so quick to leap into the fray with her against Alizabeth on that fateful day when her hatred had first blossomed?

The man was unfamiliar, but he smelled of the Plains. Perhaps he was the one who had taken the pride from Violarum? She instantly disliked him, if that was the case. She had enjoyed her encounters with the simple former leader of the Plains. He always had a good fight to offer and annoying him had been fun. Perhaps she could annoy this one as well.

She arrived just in time to hear the words that he spoke to the strangers, concerning lies and Cassandra speaking them. So, naturally, Tiamat stepped up beside the Brook queen. On any normal occasion, they might be enemies simply because of the friends that Tiamat kept, but today she had already decided that she would be an ally to the Brook. "On the contrary," she says, glancing to the man before addressing the rogues who were here. "Cassandra is an honorable lion. She is quick to defend those who need help and she has a big heart." Some of that was assumptions, but she drew from her own experience with the woman a little. "I am Tiamat, high Queen of the Lagoon," she introduced herself with a dip of her head towards the three rogues. "If neither of these prides suit your needs, the Lagoon is open to all who need a home. But I would also recommend the Brook as a safe and well-protected place if that is what you need."

It did not take long for them to descend — the representatives of this land heeding the lure of their siren song. At the shifting of an autumnal breeze, there came the trio’s first hint of company—a whisper of roses intertwined with the markings of a territory unknown. A cry from above, its source hidden within the tendrils of clouds, confirmed Saoirse’s suspicions. With a glance toward her daughters—a soft, reassuring smile upon her lips—Saoirse cast her gaze once more to the towering red stones — to the gateway between, undoubtedly marking the end of the passage and the beginning of un tirra ual ; the land of flowers.

A lioness—no, a sovereign—was the first to approach, her midnight coat a stark contrast to the light and warmth embodied in herself and her daughters. Saoirse offered @Reah a dip of her head in greeting, ears tipping forward at the subsequent words—a pitch—spoken. A glint sparked within Saoirse’s green gaze at the mention of the Plains’ recent change in leadership; however, before she could inquire further, another arrived.

She, too, was a sovereign, and yet, her title differed from Reah’s — High Sovereign @Cassandra. Something stirred within her gut at the brown lioness’ introduction—at the mention of Greyflood—yet, in spite of whatever tugged at the invisible strands within her, Saoirse did not let it show. Instead, she offered Cassandra the same courtesy she had extended to Reah — inclining her head in polite greeting. The lioness continued on, speaking of forest A stillness, ethereal and light, settled over Saoirse at the picture painted — at the vision of bubbling brooks and leaves stirring in the breeze that appeared before her eyes.

But the peace of something familiar did not last as another soon joined them. This time, it was a male, and with a delicate quiver of her nostrils, she detected the same scent that wrapped itself around Reah — his scent. He spoke, first to the Brook queen and then to her, his words rooted in false amusement. Her face remained neutral, schooled into the same polite expression she had offered to both lionesses; she dipped her head in greeting to @Aeistrios, and as she lifted her gaze once more, a fourth representative had joined the gathering.

The newcomer spoke on the Brooke queen’s behalf, her words dancing in contrast to what the assumed Plains’ male had suggested. Saoirse offered one final nod @Tiamat before turning an assessing gaze to each lion gathered in turn. If she were being honest with herself, the allure of the Brook was undeniable — the whisper of something familiar, something revered. Yet, these lands were not the lands of their home; the Brook’s forest was not their deerthana — their Great Forest. She would give each pride their chance — give her daughters ( and those not yet with them ) the best opportunity for their brightest future.

“My name is Saoirse Visala,” she began, sweeping her gaze amongst those gathered, “And these are my daughters, @Clodovea and @Hana.” A pause, then Saoirse turned first to Cassandra, “Your home sounds lovely, but before I make my decision—” Here, she turned to Reah and her unnamed companion; to Tiamat, “Tell me more about your prides — how do you govern your pride and your members? What are your pride’s values?”

meadowlark fly your way down
i hold a cornucopia and a golden crown for you to wear upon your fleecy down
As the first of their welcome wagon approached, Clodovea at last tore her eyes away from the peaks and rested them curiously on the face of the tall, dark lioness. A sovereign she called herself, and the pale girl's lips formed a little 'o' of surprised delight at the sound of the word. It sounded beautiful, powerful, and a little scary all rolled into one title. @Reah was certainly beautiful, to the youth's estimation, and she wondered to herself if she also checked off the other two things on that list.

A second lioness followed, cloaked in the evidence of battle. Compassion surged from Clodovea's heart at the sight of her—poor woman! what creature dared to harm her so?—but then her mother's firm but gentle explanations of what they might expect to find in these lands resurfaced in her thoughts. Her dark tail tuft twitched fretfully between her heels—at least until @Cassandra spoke and bid the thoughts of darkness leave at the mention of her land of forest and brook. Her bony shoulders noticeably relaxed as she listened to the description of Vermeda, and a quiet smile began to draw her lips upward.

But then another voice cut in, and what he said caused the doves of peace that had alighted on Clodovea's spirit to take flight again, their wings beating quick and strong and stirring up a wind of discontent in the girl. He suggested that had Cassandra plenty of lies to share about him, but considering that he had been the first to mention the subject of lies... oh, what was the saying that her mother had taught her? Whoever smelt it dealt it? Or, well, maybe that one hadn't come from her mom. Pale lilac eyes carefully avoided looking at @Aeistrios directly and instead settled on her mother's countenance, seeking the safety and security found in @Saoirse II's polite but inscrutable expression. She appeared at ease in the conflicting presence of these lions, and Clodovea willed herself to adopt the same quiet strength.

The next member of their little party introduced herself by way of coming to the defense of Brook High Sovereign's honor, and Clodovea found in herself an acute affection for the striped lioness. The expression of polite diplomacy that she had been attempting to mirror from her mother's face was quickly abandoned, her freckled features instead bursting into a wide, kind smile as she gazed at @Tiamat. Graceful words were the sweetest honey for this little bee.

As it became apparent that there would be no other rulers to come and greet them, her mother then took the time to introduce their little trio. As her name was announced, Clodovea whipped one braceleted paw into the air in a cheerful little wave while her eyes warmly scanned the faces of the sovereigns—save for @Aeistrios, whose gaze she continued to avoid as if looking directly into it might cause his unwanted attention to fall upon her. She was a girl who tended to move big and loud through the world, but there was something in the massive man's voice and the gleam of those deep purple eyes that made Clodovea want to be still and small.

Saorise commented first upon the Brook and her daughter unconsciously leaned forward, expecting to be led there, but her mother's following words are ones of inquiry—ones about governing and values. Truth be told, those matters were far from her mind, but that was what the girl had a mother for, right? Her eyes peeked over at @Hana and she wiggled her eyebrows in their mother's direction as if to say hey, she's pretty great, huh?

One by one, they descended, gathering before Hana and her family until a veritable wall stood between the Visala lionesses and the passage’s gateway — between the Visala and their new beginning. Three were lionesses, sovereigns, and though the lion that joined the gathering had disclosed neither his name nor his rank, Hana could sense that he, too, held power within his grasp. Perhaps, came the sudden thought, a look of contemplation spreading across her features, he is the High Sovereign to her Sovereign. The other lionesses had introduced themselves as such—as High Sovereigns of their respective prides—but she, @Reah, had only claimed sovereign.

It was an interesting thought, but one that the girl dared not linger on for too long — especially when their mother’s voice, warm and collected, beckoned her. At the introduction, where @Clodovea offered a friendly wave, Hana opted for a smile—small, yet soft—and a quick dip of her head; the only evidence of her still fluttering nerves danced in each twitch of her tail. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught her sister’s look and smiled warmly, leaning to brush her shoulder against Clodovea’s shoulder in quiet agreement.

@Cassandra @Aeistrios @Tiamat
