Prompt: An impala grazes timidly upon the grass near the forested edge of the Brook, alert and ready to run.

Farrow were hardly in any shape to hunt much more, but that would never stop him. Between his age and his old wounds, the beast walked with a permanent limp, but his mind was still focused, energetic. A lone impala had found its meal far too closer to the Vermedan borders, and though he'd not been particularly looking for a hunt, it was a pleasant distraction from his otherwise pacing thoughts.

He'd been searching, desperately, for answers. Perhaps a brief moment where he didn't have to would be relieving, rewarding. Thus, he changed his course and began to follow the scent, careful to keep a far enough distance away that he would not startle it until he (and whoever joined him) were completely ready.

Her newborn cubs were tucked safely back in the den, snuggled up tightly with the pelts and stuff that covered the floor of the Queen’s den. Truth be told, she’d hardly left them alone since they had been born. She was worried that if she left, one of them would disappear. It was odd to have 5 cubs nestled at her belly after what happened with their first litter, but she wasn’t complaining at all.

So when she’d left the den to go get a drink from the brook that gave the pride its name, she caught the scent of an impala. Wandering closer to it, she spotted the creature - along with Farrow relatively near to it. Lump swelled in her throat as she stayed in the shadows and looked towards the large dark-colored male for a few moments. While she knew it wasn’t anything she’d done, the fact that he didn’t remember who she was or who her mothers were stung… Shaking that off, Cassandra stepped forward at his side.

She would assist with this hunt. Even if it were merely an impala, she would help in whatever way she could now that she was able once again.

For her size she was an agile mover. Her dark coat and swirling patterns blending in quite nicely with the shadowed forest.
It had only been a a few days since her joining and she had yet to really interact with the member's of the Brook. Something that she would soon mediate. For now she simply wanted to familiarize herself with her new home.

Neytiri slipped along the Vermeda borders in silent thought. Her mind drifting from one future event to the other. Contemplating on all that she wished to do here in Amaryllis.
A sliver of movement snagged her attention back to the present. Instinctually her body froze, eyes dilating to take in the sight of the impala. The scent of others reached her next and she looked across to spot @Cassandra and a male (@Farrow). Her ears would lower then raise again, a silent signal to let them know she was here if they welcomed the help.

The pink Ranger had been contemplating on hosting another hunt for the pride again and went to go look for @Cassandra. Dipping in and out of the trees, Raizel looked around for the High Sovereign to talk to her. Pink gaze glanced around as she searched for her and then something else caught her eye. An impala. Ducking low to the ground, the Ranger crawled forward under the brush. Not far away was the lioness she was looking for and two others she hadn't met yet. It was only an impala but much better than the dikdik from the last pride land hunt. Waiting for the signal, she prepped herself for the launch.

one year, no bonus

Despite being mute, the prince hears his mother's call echo through the Brook. He had been distracted with following a stray scent through his home when he was interrupted. Leaving the trail behind, Lukas turned and moved toward the area where he had been summoned.

Arriving, he notes the small amount of Brook lions that had gathered. He frowns - was he missing something? Had they all gone on a scouting mission somewhere? Unsure, the yearling finds himself standing quietly beside @Cassandra, nudging his head into her flank whilst waiting for more to arrive. It was impala they were hunting today - if they were successful, he hoped that it would be tasty.

three years, pathfinder lvl 2 +1 to hunt rolls, pride tier 4 Khal hadn’t yet figured out exactly what was going on with Farrow, but as often as strange and unfortunate things had happened to him, he wasn’t about to start questioning anything good the gods had to throw at them. So he would slip up toward the rear of the gathering hunting party, happy to go unnoticed until he was needed to actually assist in what should be a fairly easy hunt, he hoped. The little hoofed creature hardly stood a chance but sometimes the terrain could catch a bigger feline off guard, so maybe he would be of some use of it slipped by the others.

They are, unsurprisingly, successful. Lukas works with the others to bring down the stray impala that had wandered so innocently into their home. Lukas works quietly, in the shadows, but in the end stands and waits, catching his breath as his small sides heave. The oxygen returns to his head, to his lungs, and he takes his share of the meat that was sparse - would it feed all of them?

He was not sure, but he looks to his sister, @Eisa, and with a smile, dips his head. Taking his share of meat, the melanistic yearling departs and heads to his den for a well deserved nap.

It were another hunt for him, in a way.

No matter what all had transpired, no matter what all Farrow had lost and gained, there was a simplistic beauty in the way such simple things never seemed to shift. An impala was easily brought down enough, especially with the strength of their collective. Those who had joined them were unfamiliar to Farrow, all sorts of ages and dispositions, but for so long had the adventurer journeyed with others of all shapes, sizes, and species; Farrow was able to use his size and strength to fell the impala and hold the prey down as they finished the beast off.

It were small, too small, especially with newborns hungrily feasting at the Queen's size. Farrow knew they would need to hunt again soon, but for now, they could rejoice in what they had managed to bring down.
