And survive he must. Even though it was the bane of his existence, Jafar Casales understood now more than ever that a hunt was necessary. Calling upon his pride mates to come assist him in this endeavor whether its prize be small or large, was important. Whatever he had tracked would find its end here today and he could carry on and tend to the rummaging, one month old and growing quickly babies that he adored so. One tiny hunt was all he needed to do and then he could get back to his mewling potatoes. That was all they were at this point but he needed to keep Linn well fed and the children, too.

"I can lead, Padre," she offered in a hush, attempting to brush her pelt along that matching one of bronze. Sedona willed her heart to slow, not trying to scare off any potential prey with the scent of her fear. She was still trying to settle back within the rainforest kingdom – back within the family unit she truly hailed from. Perhaps part of her did not know whether or not she was in her father's good graces anymore.

Regardless, hunting was her area of expertise. The work was more fitting of her than of a king, and she waited only a moment for his objection before starting in to try and pick up a scent trail.

"Sprinters up front, muscle in the back," Sedona urged her pridemates in a whisper, twitching her bobbed tail in a signal before she folded herself into a hunter's crouch. The rainforest was lush with flora and fauna alike, but using the terrain to their advantage would be the real key in their endeavor. She allowed her eyes to wander momentarily to the forest floor, fixating on a set of imprints within the crackling mud. Perhaps they belonged to the same creature they stalked.

"On my signal... go!"

True, Sedona would be spared from much of Thrain's competitive nature - given she was not only female, but undeniably tiny. Yet, he cannot help the excited feeling of sibling fun creep into his breast as he slinks up alongside his sister and father, wanting oh so badly to question her authority and turn this into a game.

Perhaps it can be seen in the way he smirks to her orders and hesitantly falls back to be the support-muscle, deciding at some point he would have to behave like the Heir he was - even when in his litter-mates company.

Marja had rather decided that she was the best hunter, and when she heard the call, she bounced and hopped through the jungle, towards the sound. She wasn't really doing very well making friends in the pride, or making it a home, but she still wanted to show up for hunts. Arriving, she speaks, rather loudly. "Marja here!" She chirps. "Marja help!"

She crouches, rather clumsily, and her tail twitches- as she waits there- near the front, not really good at following directions. Was she a springer or muscle? She did not know. "Dis-tract go where?" She asks again, just as loudly.

She had been quietly making a trail through one of the denser parts of the jungle, towards a cache of herbal plants that she had found, when she heard the call. She had been stretching, and scratching the trees, rendering bark away from the trunks so that she could find her way back to them later- and she kept on doing so, as she slowly made her way towards the sounds of the hunt.

It was only when she neared them that she stopped, crouching and approaching the small group, moving up to be a sprinter, and then she would wait for the signal- ready to roll.

Fashionably late, but not absent, Ilyena stalked her way through the dense brush of the Rainforest to answer the king’s summon. She noted the various smells of the pride as she followed the path. It seemed like they had pulled together a pretty decent little hunting party. She was happy to add her expertise and aid them in their pursuit. The more teeth and claws, the better.

Creeping into view, the Huntress gave her companions a nod before her vivid gaze settled on @Jafar. She flashed him an eager smile while she waited for him to give the order.

Dumah changed the course of his patrol to follow the scents of other Firnens. With challenges for land being a commonplace occurrence in these lands, he knew it was folly to relax in his duty. Dumah had become a living shadow in the wake of his missing family members, keeping silent watch over the rainforest.

As the ashen lion materialised through the undergrowth, he smiled at the hunting party. For @Jafar and @Thrain, Dumah inclined his head respectfully. Sedona was spared a look of curiosity; she was not a face he had seen before. A prickly reminder of how poor his social skills were. Another time. He slipped into a crouch beside @Ansella, muscles taut as he waited for the command to strike.

one year, no perks

She had plenty of experience to know what that call meant now, so she responded when she heard it. Not as quickly as everyone else, it seemed, because by the time she got there a fairly large crowd had already gathered. Sometimes she got there super early, sometimes she got there just in the nick of time. At least she was there. That was all that really mattered, right?

Alvena sniffed the air, trying to pick up on the scent of whatever it was they were going after to see if she could figure out what it was before she saw it. Just a little something to keep her occupied while they waited.

What time she didn't spend helping the pride by going out to the passage (because she'd never been fond of recruiting if she was being honest) she hoped she made up for in attending hunts like this one. She was, admittedly, almost fashionably late, but at least she was present.

Faelyn moved to join Marja, attempting to bump her shoulder against the other woman's in greeting. She was glad the exuberant woman had come to to Rainforest because it meant that they could still spend time together. Marja might annoy others but to Faelyn she was amusing, and in her mind they could always use someone who so unfailingly looked on the bright side.

8 years // no bonus

Though the mauve lion wasn't far off when the king called for the pride, Roan was still among the last to join the hunting party. He moved quietly, not wanting to alert whatever they were hunting of the growing number of lions congregating nearby. Coming up alongside his daughter, the father aimed a light bump against @Alvena's shoulder with his own before his attention went to Sedona. It seemed the young woman would be giving the instructions for the hunt even if it had been Jafar who had called for them. It mattered little for the Hodari as he soon made his way to join the "muscle" of the group. By size and age, Roan was in no way a successful sprinter.
