Well it wasnt as fun or important as he though it wold be. It ended as soon as it started, monkeys saving the Rainforest throat at last. Everyone seemed glad, happy it didnt escalate. Yet on his face, only blankness remained. He felt nothing, he wasnt either happy or upset. He didnt know how to feel, and as such he ignored it. Not giving this as much importance. Perhaps they didnt need help after all, but it wanst like he offered any support or help. Soon stuff began raining over them, this annoying the cub. Forcing him to stand up. Grunting in response. And like that he left, ready to head off and do his stuff. exit +5 Refuse to help another character. |

Despite her anxiety about the situation, the feeling of @Thrain leaning slightly against her own shoulder helps soothe her anxious nerves - even if its just for a few moments. She couldn't help the fluttery feeling in her stomach though at his touch as well. She didn't know what this was, since she'd never dealt with it before. Her non-floppy ear would push back as the golden girl listened to the prince's words.
"That's just... wrong though..." She murmured back, feeling incredibly uncertain over what was going on with the situation at the moment. Other pride members showed up around them, and she felt herself getting extremely overwhelmed by the movements around her.
And then it just got worse. A group of monkeys had appeared within the trees, beginning to throw things at them. Ducking her head down as Thrain butted his skull against her shoulder, she started to rush out of the area. She not only wanted to get out of range of the monkeys, but also to get away from the amount of lions who had started to gather around them.

Kovirah was not an overly religious man, but he thanked whatever would really hear him that these blasted monkeys had found their gathering irritable. He watched with a content smirk under the cold visage, happily scoffing when the challenger was struck with a rock. A few then landed near him, and he had to sidestep to avoid a third that nearly kissed his skull.
He took several steps back to hide under some large foliage, watching carefully as others began to retreat back into their home. One last look at the border, and he began a light jog back to his own little den.

As expected, others filtered in and began to heckle the man so bold as to challenge at their borders. It brought just the tiniest change in his expression, a minuscule curl of the lips upward invisible from a distance. They all called out threats, of a sort, but Thanatos could not help but wonder just how many of those same lions would remain and bow to the man if he won rather than forfeit the safety and security of a home.
Pointed ear twitched to capture snippets of conversation, focusing at one point on talk of gods. He hummed to himself, gaze trailing upward as if he could spot the sky through the thick canopy. To whom should he pray if he wished for the protection of the forest? The patron of war or the protector of women? Guardian of hearth and home?
It seemed this 'Maua' they spoke of was the correct (if local) choice, as quite soon there was a disturbance above and his serene grin finally manifested fully upon spotting the monkeys.
It wilted the next second when he realized just what they were throwing.
Nope. No thanks.
Without a word, he popped up to his feet and turned to disappear quickly into the depths of the jungle once more. He really did not need to find out precisely what gave those snowballs their color.

As everyone else gathered and voiced their opinions on the presence of the stranger Valdi simply watched, glaring. He couldn't hear most of what was going on around him, so he simply decided that staring intently at the very rude man was the best way to deal with the situation.
It seemed that the Rainforest was in agreement with its current inhabitants in its opinion of the intruder. A group of monkeys started shrieking - loud enough that even Valdi was able to hear them - and began throwing things at the entire group. A tree nut of some sort hit poor Valdi square on the head. Thankfully, the stranger left after a few words to Linnea, and the others began to disperse.
Not willing to risk getting hit on the head again, Valdi also chose to slip into the surrounding Rainforest, vanishing into the foliage.

A young lioness distracts her from all the misery, and she smiles softly at the young vision in white. "Yes, mein süßes Kind. Maua hears ahll ze hopes ahnd desires zat don't get said." She would be lying if she said she doesn't have a soft spot for young ones, and she's glad to indulge @Alvena's curiosity. She just hopes that the young girl won't be adversely affected if the pride does end up getting seized. Such developments can be harrowing for an adult, leave alone a youngling.
She notices @Imago begin a ritual, and while she's not usually one for intricate rituals, there is no harm in trying anything in her power to ensure their victory here today. So she takes the bark from Imago, passing to @Alvena before flitting an attentive ear at the man's chant. The bark snaps with a crack, and it is only then that she pipes up. "Vell done. Der only thing left to do now is vait."
She doesn't have to wait long.
Suddenly a brown snowball explodes on Imago's flank, and her eyes grow wide. Oh. She narrowly dodges a brown-tinged projectile, lip peeling back as she hisses at the trees, on which more monkeys are gathering. The prince suggests they clear out, and so she quickly slinks off, seeking the safety of the shrubbery. Once she's well out of the range of the cannon fire, a small smile of relief quirks her lips.
Maybe a higher power did end up having a hand in this, after all...

She waited for Maia to show, knowing the woman would have to fight but not looking forward to it. Her sole daughter came to watch as well, seeming to make some friends within the pride. Well, good. She'd often wondered if her children would share her difficulty with getting to know others, and it seemed as though that wasn't the case.
Fortunately for them all, there was a group of monkeys that seemed greatly offended by their presence, and nature itself drove away the challenger without Maia having to make any effort at all. Would that something like this could have happened one of the times Roan had to fight, she thought. But she was happy for the woman, of course. She wasn't going to stick around with those rocks flying everywhere though. That seemed like a horrible idea.

Alvena's folded ears perked up slightly as Imago spoke to her, listening intently to his words. She hadn't really heard much of Maua, except to know that they were the deity most popularly believed in in these lands. She might have been skeptical if she hadn't seen ghosts before, and when those were around what was so different about believing in a god?
Ingrid confirmed that this was a ritual she could take part in, and she smiled both in happiness at being noticed by the woman and in getting more information about the world. She accepted the bark and briefly inspected it before crushing it under her paw, listening to Imago's ritual.
Almost instantly, objects began raining from the sky, and she glanced down at the bark beneath her paw in wonder. Had they really caused that? "You don't say," she agreed with Imago, still slightly surprised. "Oh no!" she exclaimed with a laugh as he too was struck, amused by his turn of phrase and not the fact that he'd gotten hurt. "That's a good plan," she agreed, turning and high tailing it away, ducking her head as rocks and other less pleasant things went sailing past her.

There were many lions among the Rainforest that he didn't know. It seemed that perhaps not many of the Hollow lions had come to join them here. Perhaps they didn't know where the Hodari had gone, or they weren't as loyal to the family as they were to the place or the security it had provided. Well, there were still many lions within the pride, and he would have to get to know them at some point.
Not right now, though, as he watched them gather and jeer at the challenger, who accepted their taunting. What he didn't accept was being pelted by monkeys from the trees. Whether Maua or fate had intervened, Tobin didn't know, but he was grateful that he was tucked away where even the monkeys couldn't see him because he couldn't make the mad scramble the others were doing to get away. Lucky for him, he could just wait where he was until things settled down and walk away normally.
