September Y13
Fall
Though the air is still warm and the sun is bright, the summer is beginning to wane and, with it, the humidity has started to die down. It is a welcomed relief for the inhabitants of the jungle, as more moderate weather will mean that the rainforest will not feel quite as stifling, as well as those from the desert, who's early autumn will see calm winds and mild nights. For the rest of the peninsula, the change in seasons will be gradual, hinting towards the colder months that are soon to come.

The borders had been patrolled already but Adeodatus would make another trip so that he could double check himself and make sure he didn't miss anything. He had been lazy (aka his player is lazy) so Adeodatus was trying to make up for it. So here he was doing it more than once to make sure he did it right. His large form traveling through the area with ease, as he had grown accustom to moving about the Mire with ease but that was also making it a bit more boring as he came to the realization Adeodatus would stop in his track and blink.

When life bloomed in the swamp, it really did bloom. The vines had snaked readily across the muck strewn earth and greenery had returned in a flood to cover every inch of available space.
Unusually, the azure warrior had grown tired of her ceaseless wanderings and settled herself in amongst the very depths of the foliage, athletic body stretched out beneath a low canopy of leaves and fledgling trees. If one weren't looking particularly for an intruder beneath a blanket of green, they might pass her by altogether.
And seemingly, that is what @Adeodatus does. The sapphire gaze of the monarch watched the silver male stalk past without word, idling as she was and not quite a filled with work ethic as he.
It was only as, sometime later, that the familiar grey coat made it's return that the lioness realizes her own laziness and lifts herself up into a sit, revealing her hiding place as she did so. "Hae ye lost yer way Adeodatus?" She said jokingly as she smiled at the noble.

His first round he hadn't seen @Sláine in her hiding spot until she got up on his second trip and nearly got smacked. Good God, you shouldn't do that. He would remark at her before catching his breath and shaking his head at her. If I wasn't lost then I surely would be now. A chuckle erupted out of his chest as bloodied jewels looked her over. How long have you been laying there? Though Adeodatus had not done anything stupid there was still a chance that he could do something stupid in her presence. It wasn't hard to do when it came to pretty women these days.

Her words did catch him a little of guard but Adeodatus blinked it away. Seems like I've missed the congratulations party. He would tease her with a smirk to follow. She would make a good mother, this he knew and Adeodatus was keen to keep her well protected now that he was aware of her situation. Though the Devorre knew deep down she did not need his help. And then a flash of embarrassment flushed through his fur and he would shake his head, Other than keeping the border protected, you just caught me off guard. Something he'd work on for sure now that he was aware of this.

Her dismissive behavior didn't go unnoticed but it wasn't pointed out either. There was no need as she explained to him that it was early. Understandable. And though the conversation had been light it now turned into something more personal for Adeodatus and a small smirk formed. I do. I wish to restore the Devorre Empire. Eventually. There was time and patience when it came to these certain things and though Adeodatus was determined to grow the Empire back again, only time would tell. So for the time being, Adeodatus was fine with patrolling the borders of the Mire to keep all those inside it safe.
