the greyflood and rike have a bitter and bloody feud between the two families, so what better way to worsen it than a litter between the two? in comes fernweh, the heiress of illyria summit, and andras rike, the brooding rike widower. their budding relationship is catapulting them to surprise parenthood, one which fernweh will not realize until it's too late. she has yet to know that andras is a rike, nor vice versa, but has since felt a strange attraction to him from their brief affair. nevertheless, fernweh will strive to be a good mom and make sure the cubs grow up surrounded by family. they will have plenty of adopted relations to interact with from mom's side and, in the future, rike family from andras' side.

Personality. fernweh will most likely keep them around the greyfloods, but sooner or later andras will know of their existence. we will play out icly how that'll happen, but generally speaking, the cubs will sway more towards neutral as that's quite common among the greyfloods and even andras himself.


Family. they will be from entirely new bloods but will also have lots of family from both sides! they will, for now, take the greyflood surname, but depending on what ic gives us, they can change to rike or even greyflood-rike. if fernweh inherits the summit, these cubs will most likely be royalty. naming conventions should be sindarin/german!

plot hooks: her personality will be shaped as she goes, but i am particularly interested in seeing how her trust in family but unserious attitude gets challenged when andras comes in the picture — does she want to learn more about his side of the family? does she stick with what she knows? does she think about it at all or does she go in headfirst? things like that i'd love to explore!

i also, of course, want her to get into mischief. lots of it. nothing life threatening, but definitely things that fernweh can correct her over so that she learns to think before she acts and considers that she's connected in more ways that she knows. anything really that will challenge her perspective on life — that everyone and be her friend, that there's nothing more important than fun, and that thinking about the future and the consequences of her actions comes second to what's fun and interesting in the moment.

personality:

aravira is a jovial girl from her very first moments — good natured and easy to get along with. shy cannot describe her. a friend, after all, was once a stranger and there’s little she loves more than meeting new people (and bombarding them with every question that comes to mind). she’s not picky about who can be her friend, as long as they aren’t boring.

to her friends and her family, she is nothing short of reliable. her promises, both the good and the bad, are always to be delivered on. as good as gold. she can be counted on for her honesty, unfiltered as it is. lying is no talent of hers, impulsive as she is. she can’t help but say the first thing on her mind, even if it means apologizing for it after. she can’t help but do the first thing on her mind either.

the world is, after all, a big and exciting place. who wouldn’t be adventurous? curious and eager to try new things, she’ll run headlong into anything that sounds fun, regardless of whether that’s a good idea. why would worry about that when she’s has her family to guide her? she trusts them to love her, protect her, and direct her like no other. they would, in her mind, never steer her wrong and she’s quick to take what they say to heart.

to her, everything can be made a game and her youthful outlook on life lends to her being airy and insouciant. serious things are for adults to worry about, and to that end, she becomes the comedian, making jokes when others are far more serious. lighthearted and always wanting fun, yet emotional and excitable. within her is great passion, just as there is impulse that drives her to seek out anything and everything that excites her. never, does she want to be seen as boring.

in the end, the most important things are what she can see in front of hers and what she feels in the moment. they guide her actions as much as the adults around her and her family do. the future is a far off thing that she doesn’t consider when there’s so much to do.

Cold, like the Summit air that chills him when he takes his first breath. He is reserved, prickly even — unfriendly, but not as unfeeling as his steely mask would suggest. Quite the contrary, he is alarmingly emotional in his responses when pressed. He is rigid — yet brittle. So very brittle.

persona notes - cool and biting. suspicious, wary - even of his family, at times, when their views do not align with his own. his loyalty, however, is not overly fickle, and he will continue to serve despite differences of opinion. yet he struggles to forgive when wronged. he can be very bitter, to the point of harboring incurable grudges. very proud, a bit vain - can mistake simple feedback for criticism and turn sour and anxious, paranoid. greedy - likes pretty things, and casts aside whatever he deems unattractive, even individuals. is hesitant to share his longings and dreams though, due to his guarded nature. reluctant to let anyone close, but wants them near him and not somebody else. for as thorny as he is, he really does not like to be alone. craves a hero’s praise and renown, especially in the eyes of his family and pride, but lacks the compassion to be one. not evil — by no means does he enjoy violence. he merely uses it as a tool when needed.

persona:

ianthel is wander-lust personified, a soulful young lass who spends most of her time with her head in the stars- dreaming of what could be, and what secrets the stars may hold. A bit of airhead, but a loyal and just female, she's more apt to watch butterflies in a field than play with her siblings, more inclined to trades of the mind and spirit than of claw and teeth.

Cool, detached, she seems aloof but in reality is just existing in another world, different from the one everyone else sees. Ianthel genuinely enjoys exploring, and making her own way in the world, even if that way is often upstream against the current- the difficult path, the one with the most struggle because she is simply lost in her daydreams.

Born to Fernweh Greyflood and Andras Rike, Lorelei is automatically born to a tense world. With her parents technically on opposite sides of a feud, her life is bound to be wrought with insecurity and strife. While she’ll aim to be the confident, bubbly daughter worthy of both of her parents, Lore will hide a massive insecurity behind her big actions. Always wanting to do more, be more and make her family proud, she’ll struggle a lot with her image. If she’s told of who her father is, and made aware of the situation she was born into, she’ll struggle a lot with her identity and who she is truly meant to be.

With her insecurity hidden and tucked away, Lore will appear to be a very promising daughter to follow in her mother’s pawsteps and become a strong Greyflood warrior. She’ll still have those moments where she hesitates and her insecurity shows through clearly for all to see, but she will do her best to hide that entirely from view. As she grows older, she’ll start to realize that her talents lie completely elsewhere. Lore was never meant to be the warrior princess her mother and other women of the Greyflood bloodline seem to be. She’s meant to heal others, help with other children.

When she looks back on herself as she grows up, she’ll notice the natural affinity she had for helping out with cubs younger than her. She’d always enjoyed helping teach the cubs younger than her, and it seemed like something she was meant to do. But her insecurity of knowing that both her parents were skilled warriors and feeling unseen pressure to follow in their pawsteps had caused her to push away what she’d truly love doing. The more Lorelei matures, the more she’ll start to come into her own and that insecurity about not being who she’s expected to be will start to fade away (though it’ll always hide in the background of everything she does no matter how much she tries to avoid it).

TLDR - insecure daughter who feels she needs to be what her parents are (warriors) but finds out her true calling is to be a medic and a nursemaid, helping others heal and taking care of cubs. Loves both her parents but struggles deeply with her identity for much of her early life.
