Tall lanky legs carried her sure-footed across the sandy dunes, the sun shining high in the sky warmed her back- keeping her contentedly warm, but not swelteringly hot. As she had grown, her fur had become less soft- less kitten fluff and closer to what she would hopefully settle into. Her legs now seemed endlessly long, and definitely helped with seeing what trouble she could get herself into- because they made it far easier to jump from one place to another.

There didn't seem to be much out here- except a lot of stupid sand. And more sand. And then... you guessed it, more sand.

Huffing with annoyance, Aideen made her way to some scraggly looking brush and flopped down rather unladylike onto the ground with a dramatic sigh. This entire island was so boring.

He hadn't seen any sign of his siblings at the passage. No one had been able to tell him where they were and his frustration had been boiling in his veins. So where better to go to help with his heated emotions than to the desert, where the sun, though spring hadn't quite pushed winter away, might burn him up even more?

The sand found its way between his toes and he grumbled to himself, disliking the feeling of the friction against the skin there. Why had he bothered coming here? What could he possibly find that would help him reunite with his siblings.

Oh.

He saw her ahead, laying in the sand beside a bush that looked rather dead. Her back was to him, but he could just see the familiar site of one of his sisters' light fur. Doing his best to keep a growl from rumbling in his chest, he bolted the few yards towards her and attempted to leap on top of her. "Where the hell have you been @Aideen?" he demanded. "And where are the others?"

Sandy dunes stretched as far as her eyes could see and she loathed every inch of it for the lack of amusement it provided her- there was simply nothing here. What was the point of this stupid island? They hadn't found their dad yet, and she was tired of looking for him- if he was so worth finding why hadn't he found them?

Huffing softly, she doesn't note the approach of another, until the paw steps are almost thunderous- and she turns with a screech as weight leaps on top of her. It's only the familiar voice that stops her from ripping out his throat- as if she could- and she snarls in annoyance at her brother- who's weight is annoyingly on top of her, as she struggles to roll over- to somehow get some leverage.

"Get off, you lump!"

"You're crushing me!" She snaps, her tail lashing in the sand. "Where have you been?" She growls. Yeah, the brother that hadn't joined them in the passage... where had Zander been?

The satisfying screech of his sister as she realized what was happening made all of his anger take a backseat for a moment in his glee. She immediately tried to roll over, snarling at him, and he was quick to push back from her, letting her up from beneath him. He wasn't here to start a fight - not just yet, at least.

"I've been in the damn Rainforest, looking for you three!" he yelled an answer at @Aideen. "You guys ditched me!" They'd left without him, leaving him behind to try and pick up the pieces, and now, for all he knew, they were scattered to the wind. "Where's Donati? Laerra?" he demanded, refusing to let her dodge his question even more. He glared at her, his anger at them returning. "We were supposed to find our dad." he grumbled. They had not done a good job of that at all.

Hell, he couldn't even remember where they were supposed to find him at. Some Oasis or other? He had no idea where that was.

like it's do or die

Snarling at her brothers was as familiar to her as her own name and scent, as @Zander backed off, she pushed herself up- fluffing her fur to look as scary as possible. Read: not at all, probably. Annoyance shown in the angry flicking of her tail as she glared at him, that movement only halting as he spoke.

Rainforest? She wondered. Huh. "Glad you've made yourself at home" Came the scathing retort, that likely lacked any real bite because he was her brother after all. "You should have been faster!" She says at his accusation that they had ditched him. They hadn't- he had been slow.

She shrugs. "Dunno. Haven't seen them in a bit." Truthful words (no matter where she ends up because prides can be big sometimes) If not a bit vague. "You haven't found him either then?" She challenges, because if he's gonna grumble at her and he hadn't even found their Dad then... well... she didn't know what because she was kinda confused.

@Aideen puffed her fur out, making her look like a scared little kitten and Zander scoffed at her childishness. They were old enough to be more grown-up than that! What was she, a baby? Probably, honestly. He lifted his head and looked down at her with what was almost a sneer of disapproval.

"Yeah well at least I have a home," he said with a roll of his eyes. Since she had avoided his questions he could only assume that she didn't live anywhere, and that meant the other two probably didn't either. "Maybe you guys should come live there with me. The leader is really strong. She and some other guy fought over me and she kicked his ass!" It was entirely true, too. Maia had, indeed, beaten the crap out of the other guy when she had come swooping in to challenge the claim.

He ignored her comment about his speed. He'd woken up and they had been gone. What the hell was he supposed to have done? Not sleep for fear of them running off? He wasn't that concerned about it anyways. "Nah, I haven't found him but some lady at the passage said she might know him and would watch out for him," he said with a shrug. Hopefully she'd run into their dad and let him know they were looking for him. "Do you remember where mom said he would be?"

When Zander lifted his head like that to look down on her, a bit of a sneer to his jaws- she raised her own head- to remind him. Hey, we're the same age butthead. She bared her teeth, glaring at him, before she burst out with a soft laugh. "You're a hare-brain." She accused, shaking her head. "I missed you, Zander." A rare moment, of softness for her to admit that, but Aideen did really love her siblings- even if they were the best ones to beat up.

"I'll tell the others. Maybe we'll come visit you." She says, almost nonchalantly. She didn't know if she liked the idea of a rain-forest. (And timelines lol) She tilts her head. "Did she beat him good? Sounds impressive." She says. "You learn anything? Show me?" She directs, wanting to learn any move that her brother may have learned. 'Cause surely they all learned something from each and every fight they watched, right?

"I don't remember where Mom said either. I figure we'll find him eventually though, maybe that lioness will find him and he'll know we're here?" She asks. Seemed kinda sketch though- why would anyone just offer to help strangers?

"Yeah well, you're my sister so you must be hare-brained too," he retorted with a roll of his eyes. They all jabbed at each other consistently so the insults were expected. He wasn't about to admit that he had missed her and the others, too. It had been a little lonely without them on his way to the island, and then in the Rainforest. Sure there were others around him, but it wasn't the same as having his littermates around.

He moved to stand in front of @Aideen, facing her. "Yeah, she beat him real good," he boasted, proud that he was with a strong leader. "First she went at him like this," and he lunged forward, trying to shove his shoulder into Aideen's chest to show her what had happened. It wasn't a hard push, so he knew he wouldn't hurt her.

"We'll find him eventually," he huffed as he finished the move. "There's four of us. That's eight eyes to look for him," he joked. And hell, maybe their mother would show up soon too.
