Jaws locked, unwilling to release his grip, he would rock backward in place, trying to forcefully pull her off balance and to the ground. At the same time also trying to get a good hold on the space between her shoulderblades with his still-raised right paw, in an effort to grip and yank in time with his backward movement.

As he caught the movement of her paw from the corner of his eye, he'd angle his skull slightly to pull the eye itself out of danger and present his lower left cheek/jawline instead. Facial scars were sexy, right? He could probably live with whatever remained after the scratches her claws left behind healed up. Get a little balance to the set by his opposite ear, maybe. Flesh stung, blood oozed, and Ryker ignored most of it. He could go laze around and get Iofiel to patch him up later if anything seemed serious enough to require a healer.

At the moment, all he really wanted was to get the woman to the ground.

Since the other two seemed intent on fighting over him for whatever reason - not that he minded, it was pretty cool to see them fight - he settled in near @Ghyslaine. His eyes tracked the movements of the fight, his tail twitching with excitement behind him. But he kept one ear turned towards the woman as she spoke, because she was the one who was taking time to answer his questions.

"I would like some help," he offered her, a little of his sass bleeding away. He really did need to find the other three, and then probably his father after that. And then, when he did find them, he could at least give his brother a good thrashing for leaving him behind. The girls were always getting into trouble together. Zander had hoped that at least Donati would have seen a little reason and waited to travel as a group.

And then Ghyslaine mentioned knowing some Miroslavs, even though her words were cut short by the battle, and Zander turns his head towards her with his eyes alight with excitement. "You do?!" he questioned, ears pricked forward. "Maybe you know my father!" By then he'd stood up and fully turned towards her, tail lashing even more excitedly now. Of course, he had never met his father - only knew his name, in fact. But maybe she had met him!

she's a mess of gorgeous chaos

Perhaps it was the woman's sheer will or determination that seemed to push her forward to success. @Ryker's jaws do not seem to want to let go, and the High Sovereign can feel herself growing increasingly infuriated with the lack of movement she seemed to be offered.

Her claw does not seem to catch his eye, but it does make contact with his face, which Maia was thankful for. It seems to make contact with his lower left cheek/jawline and the fine trickle of blood would drip to the floor. Eventually, though, his strength and pushing is too much, and so Maia's knees buckle under the male.

But she is quick, and if she is able, Maia would turn onto her back and kick Ryker away, attempting to put some space between them, even if he would not let go of her fucking neck. Enough. She spits, scrambling back to her feet to face the male. The boy comes with me. Maia comments, watching Ryker carefully before turning her attention over to @Ghyslaine and @Zander. What is your name? She asks, curious to find out who she had been fighting for.

If you asked him, later, how it happened, he wouldn't have a good answer for you. Just a vague shrug and a noncommittal 'I dunno' noise. What actually happened, of course, was that the woman dropped and rolled and wrenched her scruff from his mouth by luck of a chance kick to his throat of all places.

Ryker backed off with a gag, and what might have been a curse except it took a second to regain the power of speech. When he found his voice again it was still slightly strained, "And what if he doesn't want to go with you? Hm?" She'd been damn determined to ensure the kid didn't go to Andal, and he wasn't quite sure if that was because she had something against the Oasis (or him, personally), or if it was the idea of withholding choice from the boy. If it was the latter, could she see the hypocrisy here?

A rough cough to clear his throat, and he shook himself off, straightening back to his usual posture of casual confidence, despite the scattered streaks of blood and fully in spite of each little ache. He had little interest in presenting a weakened image after all that talk about running a place built on strength. Nor was he keen to run off before the kid had a say. Just in case.

She had been both focusing on the fight and listening to the cub, standing as close as she felt she needed to him- as she studied the battle. He admitted that he would like some help, and she nodded. "Help, I can do." She agrees, and yet- his excitement is something she can't help but find infectious- as he turns towards her- tail lashing. "I may- I know a few of them. Who is your father?" She questions him, and notes the fight ending- with @Maia the victor.

She looks to Maia, who had won the fight. "Maia is a strong, fair leader- you would be safe within her pride- and I'm sure she won't mind if I visit you there to help with the information I have." She says softly. "Are you comfortable going with her? She will ensure you're fed, and I've lived in the rainforest myself- it's spectacular." She says kindly to the youngster.

The fight winds down to an end and, much to Zander's surprise, it is the gray woman who comes out on top. The man had spoken of his pride as being a place for strong lions, but his loss clearly pointed to the woman's pride as being stronger...at least in Zander's mind. Though he couldn't say that he wasn't a little disappointed that the man had lost. He'd seemed interesting enough.

"Guess you aren't so strong after all," he said to the man with something between a smirk and a sneer on his face. "I'm Zander Miroslav," he told Maia firmly with pride in his voice, turning to catch her question as she separated from the man and informed him of her decision. @Ghyslaine doesn't seem too bad either, even if she didn't hop into the fight, and he turns to her with renewed excitement. "My dad's Leander," he informed her. "My sisters are Laerra and Aideen and my brother's Donati." Maybe she had seen his father. If not, then perhaps he had heard the names of his siblings somewhere along the line. They certainly had a tendency to be loud when they were in town.

To answer her second question he just shrugged. Who he went with really didn't matter at the end of the day as long as he found his family somehow. "Yeah I'm sure she'll be fine. Too bad he wasn't stronger." He chuckled, his eyes shifting to the man for a brief moment. "So I'm going with you?" he called out, turning his head to the gray woman, Maia, in question.

Her sides heave and her head begins to ache but she focuses her attention on the child. @Ryker’s words fall on her ears and she turns to look at him, answering simply. He goes with Ghyslaine, should he not want to come with me. But he will have a strong upbringing in the Rainforest, where he will have the freedom to develop and fight as he pleases. My sons will see to that. She comments with a flick of her ear in annoyance, before turning back to @Ghyslaine and @Zander. She nods at his question. You are coming with me, yes. I’ve met your siblings briefly. The High Sovereign comments, recalling the time she came across the trio within the Passage, much similar to how she had come across Zander. We will teach you all you need to know. Depending on what you are interested in specialising in, I may be able to mentor you. Or my husband might. She offers with a gentle smile. Shall we go? She offers, turning to face the direction of the Rainforest before departing.

He didn't really care which of the lions he went with. Both the man and @Maia had battled well, so either of them would be an excellent choice. He was a fighter, and if he was going to live somewhere then he needed a strong leader or he would never look up to them. But he wasn't a total heathen (most of the time). Since it was clear he was going with Maia, he turned to @Ghyslaine. "If you see my brother and sisters or my dad will you tell them I'm with her?" he asked, remembering at the last moment to add in, "Please?"

Of course when Maia mentioned having run into them already his attention focused on her. "Do you know where they went?" he asked excitedly, leaping ahead to follow her to wherever she lived.

Ghyslaine's focus is on @Zander as he speaks, and when @Maia comes closer- she nods to the Rainforest ruler, politely as she speaks. When Zander goes with Maia, she nods at his request. "I'll keep an eye out for Leander. When I see him- or if I run into your other siblings- I'll let him know where you are." She promises simply. With that, she merely nods in the direction of @Ryker , before she turns away to make her own exit- to take her leave. She would have to make a point to try to find Leander, and let him know what she's learned.
