Did she have one last hunt in her before she gave birth? Or would this be the hunt to send her into labor? She kinda hoped for the latter because she was really starting to want her own body back, to enjoy the feel of herself- and only herself in her skin. She also wanted to meet the cubs that had taken residence within her. Ghyslaine sighed softly, at the thought, as she prowled the land, moving more slowly than she had normally done.

Her nose twitched, as she scented something warm, something tasty- and for a second she prayed for an easy meal- a simple take down- as she let out a chuff for the pride to see who would join her in a hunt.

Lucien had woken up earlier in the day with a plan to patrol the borders of the pride. He had been here for a little while now and so decided that he needed to do a little more to make himself useful and to show he wasn't some lazy sack of bones under a dun coat. He'd taken to a light jog to get him to the west side of their borders, movin' just fast enough to elevate his heartrate but not too much to fully wind and overexert himself. Every now and then would he stop to observe his surroundin', yellow eyes takin' in what he saw with a watchful gaze, before strengthenin' the pride's border markers and goin' back on his patrol.

The chuffs from his Queen would gain Lucien's attention, ears twistin' forward in alert before he began to make his way over to her. He knew she were pregnant but really wasn't keepin' track on all the things that came with it, but he had to assume she were about ready to pop any day now. And as she finally came into view that assumption was made correct as he noted her very swollen belly. Should she be huntin' in that condition? "Miss @Ghyslaine," the dun man would greet her in his drawl, givin' her a bob of his head with his words. "You tryin' to force them kids out?" The query was spoken in a jokin' manner, lips curlin' in a soft grin before he himself sniffed the air, catchin' whiff of what she had caught on to.

There is a disappointment she feels, that only Lucien shows up to her call- and yet, there is a sentimental sort of feeling she feels towards the male. Perhaps he is the only one she can rely on. As the pair of them go after an Oryx, somehow taking the beast down- a beast that must have been injured or aging, or perhaps they were simply lucky- she stands to catch her breath, heaving a bit.

"If this doesn't make these cubs come on out, I don't know what will," She says with a soft chuckle- looking to @Lucien, with a grin, that fades into something more serious- as she considers him. "Thanks- for coming, I won't forget that. You were the only one. I don't forget these things." She says quietly. No, not quite. She had no intention of forgetting that fact- and he would be rewarded for it.

It made his lips purse into a thin line to see that he was the only one aside from @Ghyslaine to show up to a pride hunt their leader was leadin'. It made Lucien wonder if the others in the Plains cared much for their pride or pride mates, but soon would his thoughts flutter away as the image of their prey came into view. He watched the Oryx with a hungry gaze, and with no time wasted would the two of them spring into action.

He made sure to keep her safe while also watchin' the long and sharp horns on the animal, and somehow they managed to bring it down. "Well I'll be damned!" The dun mane would exclaim through pants, lookin' over toward Ghyslaine with a proud expression on his face. His ears would twist forward then as he began to speak, and he could tell by the tone and weight of her words that she meant what she said. "Just doin' what I need to for the pride." He would give her a warm smile before glancin' back down at their catch, decidin' that he would drag it to their cache before doin' anythin' else.

Once he placed the Oryx at the cache would Lucien then decide to go back to patrollin' Lorien's borders. A quick jog would bring him back to the borderline, the lion beginnin' once more to run along the borders and stop here and there to remark their scent markers, doing this for some time before decidin' to head back and eat his share of their kill.
