Luther found himself resting atop a jagged rock, at the border of the Mire that met the sea. His piercing green gaze was seemingly staring into the kingdom beyond the water - Scilla Lagoon. He knows the lands like the back of his paw - vater would have it no other way. As the firstborn prince, he must be knowledgable of the Amaryllis politics. Even if he wasn't constantly present at large events, information always found its way to his ear.

Although for now he's been more or less instructed to stay away from challenges and events that had the chance of turning into an outright battle, Luther knew that this will be coming to an end now. He was no longer a child, and he will no longer bend to the rules that a child must bend to. Indeed, soon the world will know of him.

@Iona

Whatever remains of her, when one whole half of her soul has perished, is yet to be seen. She had known even before mother had brought the grim news to the den, a fact of which she has no proof save for the absence of dreams these past few months. Iona had been used to such vivid imaginings, living wild and facing new foreign beasts on an almost daily basis. The child had always felt the connection to her twin, entwined since their first awakening. It is a strange feeling now, as she moved through the jungle canopy, neither fully alive nor yet fully dead.
Patchwork nose shifted a branch out of her way, dark tipped ears struck forward to hear the crash of waves against the rocks that bordered most of King Alaric's territory.
The Prince upon the rocks was easily spotted, the tell-tale white hue of his young body in contrast to the green and gray backdrop. She approached, feeling an unusual inclination to seek out interaction.

"If ye are surveying your kingdom. It's that way." She gestured to the swampland behind them with a jerk of her chin. She jests, but her features do not smile. She's a rather serious child, most of the time.

The crashing waves couldn't hide the approach of footsteps from behind. @Iona didn't seem to want to hide her approach, either, which was a good thing for her. Luther disliked surprises, especially those including claws and teeth. He'd shown time and time again to his siblings that such things were unwelcome, and it brought him immense joy to watch Bruno struggle beneath his grasp. As for Yrsa? She rarely dared to squabble with him. As a matter of fact, Bruno was simply another one of his victims. The dark-haired boy never gave Luther a reason to punish him, but neither did Luther need a reason to do it anyway.

His cold eyes watch the abyss-pelted twin step forward. Which one was this? The I-named one or the M-named one? Honestly, he always mixed them up. The cruel princeling was unaware that one of them was missing, too, nor did he care to know. "It's good to keep an eye out on my options," he said with a dismissive shrug. The Mire would one day be his, that was without a doubt, but Luther was endlessly greedy. The idea of having multiple kingdoms was tempting in theory, but difficult if not impossible to achieve.

Iona lept up onto a flat topped rock that stood beside the pale boy's, perhaps even a little taller than his own. If she chose it consciously or not, well, that was yet to be seen.
It did not concern her that he might take it as an afront to his gods given right as heir to the throne to observe this paradise across the sea. Ringed eyes beheld a far off island as she folded her legs beneath her into a sit. She could see nothing inherently special about his 'options'. Perhaps he was more travelled than she.

"Hm. You really want it?" She asked, looking out across the waves. But that is not all that she asks. Do you really want a crown at all? The blood that flowed in her veins was without a doubt more feral than his own, but Iona did not have a thirst to rule, to hold herself higher than others. Her dreams had only ever encompassed travel, exploration. She and Mirari had spoken often of what they would do, where they might go. But without her sister, Iona would have to do it alone.

He watched onwards all while keeping an eye out on @Iona out of the corner of his eye as she climbed up atop a rock nearby. "Hm. You really want it?" Her question had two meanings, he could sense it from the tone of her voice. Luther turned to glance back at the blue-pelted princess, his expression stoic. "It's only my birthright," A pause. "It wants me as much as I want it." Luther was not the Heir who was haunted by his right and sought every little chance to deny it. He was not the "I do not want this" type, suffering from success. Oh, no, he wanted power. For him, power was like the air - he cannot thrive without it. A smirk pulled on the corner of his lip, before he gazed back beyond the sea. "But I cannot expect you to understand it." After all, she was but a simple girl that will grow into a simple woman.

The figure of him was held within the outer edge of her vision as she looked across the sea. @Luther ♔ was so pale that he felt more ghost to her than lion. As such, it was all too easy to drop her guard and relax into a stooped posture that was most unbefitting of a 'princess'. Even as she felt his gaze prickle upon her patchwork skin.

His words are that of a man. Though, when she did eventually look back at him, she saw that he was only a boy still. Draped in the expectations of his lofty father and an inner belief that he is somehow better than every other creature that he walks amongst. She cannot know this truly, it is merely her youthful disdain for everything and everyone that gathers such thoughts into her head.

Of course, she would not understand it. "Aye, that's right. I'm just a mongrel underling." She snorted, mocking him lightly. "Well ye can have your swamp. I want to explore."
