It should have been her. This should have been her battle. This should have been her standing in the middle of the chaos fighting for ownership of the sands. This should have been her delicious, sweet revenge to her darling auntie, but it isn't. She was pleased to see Seraphiel taking part, however, and barely acknowledged the other combatant as anything more than a Wolfbron member. Her eyes narrowed solely on Seraphiel, a favorite of her mother's. Nephthys certainly hoped he would prove victorious, but she knew firsthand how wicked those Dieudonne loyalists could be. The maroon woman settled in for a show hoping neither would disappoint.

He was correct in assuming it wouldn't be long before someone would make him back up his call, and the other man came at him in a rush of brown fur and the scent of the Bluffs. It didn't surprise him in the slightest, given how large and ambitious the pride was. He was willing to bet it wasn't part of the vendetta between their two prides (well, his former pride now).
Claws and teeth sank into his left hip, fangs digging at his muscle while the claws caught towards his hind end, leaving furrows there. He ignored the pain for the moment, pivoting to the side to reach over with his right front paw to attempt to stomp at the other man's own left hind paw and give himself a better angle to attempt to sink his own jaws into the man's left flank, aiming for the hollow of where his hip and side met.
He paid no attention to the gathering crowd, didn't notice his own daughter on the sidelines as he fought for a home for them. He couldn't risk being distracted by looking. He'd have been relieved to note a lioness of the Brook keeping an eye on her, though.

Solanum looked up at Revna as the lioness walked over and crooned to her, she sniffles a bit and wraps herself around the lioness's leg, her wide teary yellow eyes too scared to take off of her father, she pointed at Seraphiel with one paw, "That's my daddy. Her voice has the break of pitches only a sniffling child could make, she wiped her tears away with one paw and huddled tightly to the female. She was raised by Seraphiel, she didn't remember her true mother abandoning her, or the abuse her real father had done, she didn't remember the day she'd been found, she'd always assumed Seraphiel was her true father, as for a mother, she'd never had one that she remembered so she never thought about one. But she found comfort in the females shadow, and the voice of a mother was soothing to her.

(1/2) +5 Practice speed or strength
It was the thunderous roars and the rumbling of the ground that caught his attention before the calls of claiming echoed in the cool air. Caladan was his birth home, and even though it now harbored the memories he wished to forget, he was still curious as to what was going on and why there were challenges for the beach pride ringing out. Colossal frame would move in the direction of the Cove, first at a slow jog and then turning into a full sprint. Arkyn was always practicing his speed and endurance, always wanting to make sure he were ready and in shape for whatever could spring up at a moment's notice. It was one of the few things that kept his mind clear, especially with everything that had happened in recent months.
He wouldn't slow until he was at the borders, slowing back into a slow jog until he were finally at a walk. Yellow eyes would glance over the crowd that had already gathered around the two males engaged in battle; he didn't know either of them but the scents of the Oasis and the Bluffs was strong enough to tell them which prides they were from. With a snort would the Viking see the familiar form of his aunt, feeling his lips tighten. He hadn't seen her in some time, and even with the news of his mother and grandmother passing he still kept himself at a distance. With the roll of his shoulders would he make his way toward @Morrigan, giving her a soft grunt of a greeting, eyes flickering to look at her before they skittered away and back to the fight.

Artemisia
This was interesting.
Artemisia had yet to experience the power hungry ways of Amaryllis, and when she heard the call she knew she would have to see what was going on. The woman wasn't too far from the Cove, making her travel to where the call had come from a relatively short one. She was sunbathing atop a rock, soaking in the warmth of the sun in the cold weather, trying to keep herself as comfortable as possible. She wasn't a big fan of the chillier months, but she knew it was something she could not escape from, no matter how hard she tried.
After rising to her paws and giving herself a good shake and a stretch, Artemisia would head toward where the call had come from. Casually, would she make her appearance, crimson eyes darting around to look at the numerous of unknown faces. Taking in a slow inhale of breath before releasing it just as slowly would she move on the outskirts, her eyes now fixating on the two males that were fighting one another. So were those the ones duking it out to call this beach their home? Finding a suitable enough spot to settle down in would Artemisia lower her haunches to the ground, taking the time to sit and simply observe.

His call rose above the winds of the Bluffs and caught Amara a little off guard. What had Ryker started? She was fine with one member leaving, even more so since he had managed to unseat an enemy, but she didn't want all her members leaving. Let alone one that she started to trust. She couldn't tell where the call came from at first but as she started along she could only guess it was the Cove. She didn't have anything against the leader there so why would that be the pride he would go for? Though with the Oasis under new leadership, Amara wasn't fully sure what other pride she would want to be targeted. The Lagoon maybe? But she wouldn't want the beach back at all. She arrived to see the fight already going but it's not the leader she spoke to that fights @Gauthier but one of the former Oasis members. She gave a small thought to the leader and his wife that had been here before. If they needed a home, they knew where her lands were but otherwise, she didn't see a reason to do much else. She glanced around and landed her gaze on @Nephthys for a moment, then @Morrigan before she focused back on the fight. She stood ready, as always, for any fights that might come her way. |

Well shit.
It was probably a worst case scenario for Alaric, watching the fury of the sea wash through the prideland of his closest ally. Concern for Sahir and his family struck through the heaviness of his heart and as soon as it was safe he was making his way to investigate. If he could find any of them he would offer them reprieve, food and shelter and safety until they could regain their footing in the world.
To his dismay he found no sign of the Caladan members, and only vultures ready to pick clean the bones of the former pride. Alaric couldn't find it in him to be angry, and while he settled down to watch he scanned constantly the growing crowd, looking for any familiar faces. He worried about what this might mean for the stability of his own home, so much had been in flux it seemed impossible to rest easy, but mostly he worried for the well being of his friends.
A small nod is given to @Amara and his gaze lingers briefly on all of those that have come that he knows, but otherwise his attention shifts from the fight to what is left of Caladan, hoping that not all were lost.

she follows -- always she follows -- as the call rings out across amaryllis. mother is there, as ever, and for a brief second the girl considers sitting away from the monarch if only to gain her own sense of self. but if there is one thing she knows it is that appearance can be everything, and so she sits dutifully by the side of @Amara and levels her gaze on the fight. there is nothing to be said, really, and so she merely watches closely as the two men go at it. one of the oasis (an enemy, once, but now a friend?) and the other of the bluffs -- still, she knows where her loyalties lie. gauthier is the face she knows, and while she would not wish to see the vicious fighter leave them (along with those sharp claws) she recognizes the benefit of having another ally in the south. her gaze sweeps briefly to the king of the mire, noting his haggard appearance, but it does not rest there long. the fight is more interesting, and she is always keen to learn... |
