History is written by the victors, or so they say. And Hubert has no intention of emerging as anything less. Perhaps he should weave his own tale about Ottilie's antics here today - wouldn't that be fun?

It was something to contemplate once she finally remembered that she was, in fact, a lion, and not a touch-starved octopus.

His attempt to shrug off her too-tight embrace around his neck seems to have only encouraged her to bounce back with more force, making his hindlegs skid through the dirt as she pushed him back in turn. Oh, why did they have to be so evenly matched? She was a girl, after all. What did that say about him and his slender frame?

Well, he's certainly not a gentleman, if one was to judge from the smug smirk that flashed across his face when his blow sent Ottilie into a coughing fit. A pleasant distraction from the constricting feeling around his own neck, his breaths steadily growing more labored as the seconds ticked past. But reality is harsh enough to snap his focus back, and suspiciously shaped like his sister gnawing mercilessly on his forearm.

With an irritated growl, the Prince would snake his head forward to try to grab her by her exposed scruff, to tug it harshly to his right. His left paw, still on her side, would seek to forcefully shove against her towards the right too, all in an attempt to knock her off-balance and force her to release her stranglehold on him.

He's finding that he isn't much of a hugger, after all.

bury me in the mariana trench Hers was a wrestling match more than a battle between two predators. For each step, Hubert took back (or rather slid back), Ottie took one forward. And vice-versa. It was an equally matched push & pull. Her jaws wrapped tightly around his forearm, and she purposefully began to produce a lot more saliva than a normal lion would, slobbering over her brother's onyx fur. If she can't choke him out, then she will use other means to make him give in! However, out of pure inexperience (and idiocy, let's be honest), Ottilie doesn't notice her mistake until it's too late and Hubert's jaws pull on her scruff. Yelping and then growling out of frustration, the girl attempts to latch onto her brother even tighter - because she loves him so, SO MUCH! As Hubert's paw presses into her side, she begins to tip over to her left, desperately trying to balance by moving her legs. Hubert may not be much of a hugger, but what about a dancer? Funny, somehow Hubert had never envisioned that dancing would involve getting drooled on so much. But then, that was about the level of elegance to be expected from a girl such as @Ottilie, wasn't it?

The Prince coughs through his mouthful of plum fur as his sister's ever-so-loving embrace grows impossibly tighter, the pattern of his breathing marked by the loud blasts of air from his dark nose. Are his eyes about to pop out of his skull? It lowkey kind of feels like they are. Someone didn't skip leg day, clearly.

Yet stubbornness keeps his jaws clamped around her nape, keeps him pushing forward for just that last little bit...and something shifts, and Hubert would waste little time after Ottilie's slight wobble to attempt to throw her gracelessly to the ground, moving to try to pin her shoulders down beneath his forepaws. "See? I win!" He crows, triumphant, the electric rush of victory undamped even if his slippery sister finds a way to escape his clutches, even if she dragged him down too. She lost her balance first, and as far as he's concerned, that proves that he's stronger. As he should be, since he was a boy and all.

His right forearm twitches, his skin beginning to crawl as the wet sensation of all her disgusting saliva seeps in deeper and deeper through his ebon fur. Ugh. "Looks like I get to tell everyone about how I found you drooling all over yourself like a baby, huh?" After all, if they were to be making stuff up...

bury me in the mariana trench They sway and step side to side, but at one unfortunate moment the plum Princess loses her footing and tumbles down on the ground, crumbling beneath the pressure applied by @Hubert's front legs. When the dust settles, Ottie is pinned beneath her darker sibling's weight, her maw contorted in a snarl. Turns out she wasn't a dancer. Hubbie's mocking tone sends an annoyed growl rumbling from the depths of her throat, however weak it was. "Ugh! You're such a.... such a..." her eyes fluttered around in irritation, as she tried to find the perfect word to describe her aggravation with her ebony brother. "... flamingo poop!" It sounded way better in her head. Embarrassed by her defeat and subsequent inability to find a good insult that befits Prince Hubert, the young Starke girl attempts to whirl from her spot and shake off the parasite that was her sibling. Once on her feet, she would shake her pelt off from any debris and flick an ear towards the words that served to only taunt her further. Turning around, her lips twisted upward in the beginning of a smirk. "History is written by those..." she takes a step forward and another... and another... "... who reach the Mire first!" Dirt flew behind her nimble feet, as she began to sprint toward Ecrosia. Catch her if you can! exit

He raises his brows expectantly as he watched his plum sister scramble for the most appropriate insult to lob his, his gleeful grin growing more and more smug by the second.

Flamingo poop, huh? Hubert scoffs, unimpressed. "That the best you can come up with? You lost, so what does that make you?" He chirps out, tail raising in a proud arch over his back. Things really are looking up for him.

He lets out a soft grunt when @Ottilie starts flailing again in his grasp, an indignant blur of plum fur. He stubbornly holds on for a few moments longer, but her determination wins out, and he sidesteps neatly(ish) before she can send him staggering or something equally embarrassing.

The prince is grinning still when she swings around to face him, leaning his ears forward in an exaggerated show of indulgence when she speaks. Only to be caught off guard when she whirls at a sprint, throwing both dirt and a taunting challenge in his surprised face. "Wha-? Hey, come back here! Not fair!" He yowls as he furiously tears off after her, leaving a cloud of dust in his wake.

The flamingo flock is left to carry on the rest of their day in blessed peace.
