Plenty of others soon began to arrive.

Daenerys' gaze found itself drifting from studying the creature, to observing the faces that came to show with similiar curiosities to them. A lot of them had their own thoughts on how this creature came to be- and she would listen, head tilting every so often in focus before she would take back to her neutral expression.

"A feast." She muses as the others speak on it being a massive meal. They were right- it would of kept stomachs fed for days. She could only imagine how full she could of gotten.

The floodgates seem to open all at once, as often seems to be the case with these types of discoveries once that first unveiling step is taken. Cerberus is soon surrounded by a variety of faces, most of them somewhat familiar at this point, all eager to share their thoughts and theories about the existence of this magnificent skeleton.

As if their words would be the thing to give these ancient remnants meaning. How amusing.

The hound steps away as others begin to crowd in, coming to stand off to the side near @Léonie and @Hazarin, who are arguably the most interesting out of all those currently gathered, at least in his eyes. Léonie because she knows his blood, and Haz because he is the first to say something about the massive bones that doesn't have to do with mundane things like food or potential threats.

"It's said that the sea once ruled over the entirety of this world, until the moon reined it in to unveil the land that we walk on today." He adds on to Hazarin's statement, lavender eyes still gazing contemplative upon the pale ivory shards. That massive skull makes him think of the story he'd shared with Ygritte not that long ago, about the sea serpent that threatened to swallow the sun. Perhaps there was more truth to the tale than even he'd been inclined to believe.

"You might not want to be so quick to judge." He drawled out, his gaze flitting towards @Valaine, the young woman he recalled as being rather easy to provoke a reaction out of. "The same could happen to us any day now. The sea's been rather turbulent lately." Things seemed to slowly be evening out again, true, but he, himself still wasn't entirely convinced that this peninsula wasn't about to go back under.

A smallish lion soon joined them and as he revealed his theory, Léonie turned her head to listen. He believed it had come from the sea, causing her eyebrows to arch high in wonder. “That might be … the most MORONIC thing I’ve ever heard,” she snorted sharply, her feigned awe abruptly overpowered by an impish smirk. “We’re in a desert, genius. There’s no sea for miles.” She’d no idea that he’d already been informed of this by another — there was another male who spoke in a weird language, but there was no way for her to understand him.

But @Cerberus seemed to think it was possible. The sea, he said, had once covered all the land, until the moon had brought it under control. It seemed more like a fairytale intended for children than anything, and for Léonie, seeing was believing. … most of the time.

“Well, however it got here, it’s too bad it’s stuck,” Léonie sighed as she looked back at the fossilized remains, not arguing with Cerberus as she had the other. Their suspected familial ties maaay have had something to do with that. “I’d love to have some of its bones for my den. They’re pretty wicked.”

Should he find the sharp tongued yearling as amusing as he did? Probably not, as she spoke sharply to the small lion about it being moronic that the beast came from the sea- Eskel couldn’t help but snort a laugh. He stepped forward, sniffing at the bones, before expertly attempting to uncover one fully, before kicking it in the way of the the young female - @Leonie . There. For decoration. He grunted, as he sniffed at the remainder of the bones.

After sniffing at the bones for a moment, he would step back and out of the way with a shrug. Whatever it is, it’s dead now. Doesn’t matter much, I suppose. He says- before wondering off, following the long trail of bones curiously.

Hazarin's gaze moves away from @Léonie and to @Oleander who spoke to him, and he nodded at the other male's comments. Oui, mais la mer bouge et il y a peut-être de nombreuses années, la mer était peut-être là. Ou quelqu'un a déplacé les pierres. He comments, trying his best to explain the impossible to Oleander.

It is @Cerberus' voice who catches Hazarin's attention next. They appeared to keep meeting one another, which was quite the surprise. Perhaps they should spend some quality time with one another or something - a date, since they kept meeting under such strange circumstances. But what he said, that really did interest Hazarin. The sea, ruling the world... but that idea, of course, was short-lived.

The loud and brash voice of Léonie obliterated the short silence, and Hazarin's eyes were quick to move back to the young female. You seem so sure of yourself, He comments briefly, before she changes the topic slightly. Doesn't look like you're going to get any bones, though, kid. They are pretty stuck in there. Maybe she'd have to find bones from a rabbit or something to decorate her den. What a shame.

She doubted there was any way for her to pry one of the bones from the rock wall, but the comment from @Hazarin was not appreciated. She turned her head around to give him a mild look that said “SHUT IT” because she was already aware of that, thank you Captain Obvious. But @Eskel moved forward to fuss with the bones, causing Léonie to squint at him in confusion, given that she’d accepted the fact that the bones were stuck. How was he going to—

OH.

To her disbelief, the colossal male managed to dig up one of the bones and swatted it in her direction. With a beaming smile of surprise and delight, Léonie quickly pounced on it, gasping, “Are you KIDDING ME? Thanks, dude!” For all she knew, it could’ve just been the very conveniently placed bone of another animal, but she chose to believe it was from the monster in the rock.

Snatching it up in her jaws, the desert daughter paused to look directly at Hazarin. A scampish smile caused her cheeks to swell while she rolled her striped shoulders forward, posing and teasingly batting her eyes at him. Sooo sure of himself, hm?

With a following snicker, Léonie whirled around and bounded away with her new favorite toy.

Cerberus's whiskers twitch in amusement, one dark-tipped ear curving to better hear Leonie's hotly spoken words directed at @Hazarin. She was a fiery one, wasn't she? Intense in a way that was different from his own cold burn. It was fitting really, considering who her mother was. She doesn't rebuke the hound with the same ferocity, but he still has to chuckle. She doesn't seem all that swayed by the legend, he can tell, but that's alright. She's free to believe what she wishes. Whatever the truth is, it will not be changed by the thoughts of mere mortals.

The banter continues with Leonie expressing a desire to have one of these ancient relics. As decoration. Because, of course. Cerberus might have chimed in that the bones were better off left alone - they'd been here for a countless number of years already, and they'd do fine here for countless more. But the ill-named Rabbit is faster, plucking a magnificent specimen out of its prison of layered sediment like it was nothing. Even he has to blink at that one.

"Well. It's all yours if you can carry it." He has to trail off, however, as the delighted girl is already scooping the massive thing up in her jaws and prancing away.

The smoke-wreathed beast can only toss Hazarin an amused look, lifting his shoulders in a shrug. "It seems that nothing is truly 'for sure' in this world, hmm?" He comments with a slight smirk, before stepping away. "I suppose it keeps things interesting." He throws over his shoulder as he departs, the curls of his dark mane ruffling in the wind as he steps away from the rocky shelter.

Perhaps he will return later to have another look, once the crowd has dispersed and he's certain that Leonie has returned to her territory safely. The latter activity will have to be done subtly, of course, but he's sure he'll manage somehow.

Oleander's ear twitches as Hazarin explains his point of view to him. He still didn't exactly get it. He didn't know how something could be somewhere and then suddenly not, even though he had experienced such an occurrence himself with the mist. It was still something that he struggled with for he was unable to explain it.

Either way, the young lioness didn't seem taken with the explanation and had no qualms with saying something about it. Her brashness didn't last long as she was given a bone and she immediately took it away. There would be no such trophies for himself though.

And no meat to be found on the other side either. "Il n'y a plus rien de l'autre côté des rochers." Ole came back to speak to his kin after he had finished his exploration. And really there was nothing further to be said or done here and so Ole headed away back to the Bluffs once more.

Oleander Exits

His eyes watch @Léonie as she is given one of the larger bones that seemed to be looser than the others within the rock face. There is slight annoyance shown in a singular flick of his tail, before he watches the younger lioness depart with her new-found prize.

Hazarin's attention turns to @Cerberus as he makes a comment to the girl before departing. Hazarin is the first to smirk, before his attention is snatched away by @Oleander. Viens, rentrons à la maison. Hazarin comments, looking to the other male before too departing away from the badlands and back to the Bluffs.
