Stumbling into the chambers that would hopefully keep her safe from the winds that threatened to snatch her from the very ground she had been born on. Astrid was confused. Worried. Amaryllis seemed to be in a turmoil with itself and Astrid wondered if it had to do with all of the recent wars. There had been so many as of late that she hadn't been able to keep up with. Her family had been her first priority. To keep them safe but how could she keep them safe with their world crashing all around them.

As she stumbled further into the chambers, away from the howling winds, Astrid began to think that going underground was even a worse idea as she felt the ground beneath her paws shake and the walls crumble, causing her to stop from walking further into the chambers in case there was a risk of her getting trapped inside. Seam foam jewels glancing around as her mind wondered about what she could possibly do to keep her family safe.

The winds were picking up as she moved from the western most side of Amaryllis in an effort to get back to the Cay. That was more or less where she went whenever she needed a quick rest or a place to stay. They were always more than willing to help her usually given that her last name was in their Band's name. However, judging by how the dunes to the north of her were swirling sand, dirt, dust, leaves, branches everywhere -- she didn't think she fancied heading all the way to the Cay. Not until it died down outside. The weather above her was dark and stormy, and while she might not have great experience with weather she knew that that didn't mean that the sky above was going to litter her with shiny prizes.

Unfortunately, the only option she had to get away from the wind was inside the Labyrinth. That alone could be a one way trip to Hell should she take the wrong path and end up somewhere that she could get caved in on our involuntarily squished. These thoughts were a tad late to the party as she had already gone inside and figured she would take her chances in here. At the very least she could see the entrance she had come through and could bolt back into the sandstorm outside rather than getting covered or flattened by rock and debris. She'd rather inhale the sand than be flattened like a tortilla.

Ears twisted on top of her head as Astrid would listen carefully to her surroundings. There were rumbles all around her and some of the tunnels that she would have gone down and be familiar with, they had been closed off by rocks. A grumble formed in her throat as she would end up taking a different path, unaware that there was another in here that could possibly get lost just as much as she could. Claws slipped out of the sockets and would scratch against the ground as she walked, leaving behind marks that she could barely see. But the idea of leaving them had crossed her mind.

The tunnel before her was new and never ending it seemed and finally Astrid forced herself to come to a stop. Finding herself in the middle of a light that had broken through the ceiling which caused the viking to look upwards and wonder if the weather had calmed down enough for her to go back to Vermeda and gather her family. They hadn't returned to the Caverns yet but it would be soon, or later due to these strange weather acts.

Chaos had always been something that she had thrived in whether it had come to her naturally or she had created it out of boredom. There was something in the madness that made her feel alive and truly seen but it never truly deterred the fear. Not that she was keen to let anyone around her see it in her body language or expressions. No, she'd never allow it.

So as Ember carefully moved around in the Chambers with a careful grace and curiously perused the destruction it somehow felt like home. Looking at the broken bits of the ceiling and the walls, finding some small bit of comfort in the metaphor. This Chamber had been whole not so long ago but with each tremor and shake, it lost crucial parts of its being. Just as how she had lost important pieces of her own life over the expanse of her first year and how it had changed her.

In the destruction and her analyzation of its similarities to her life, she hadn't expected to run into anyone... literally. Oof, she murmured as she was ricocheted backwards a good bit only for a tremor to shake the ground beneath her just as she looked to @Ástríðr. A great pause given as she failed to find an apology. Neat, huh? She asks, awkwardly avoiding apologizing for walking into them and hoping to do so by covering it up with idle chitchat. Adults loved that shit, right?

She had been so interested in the new light in this new tunnel that she hadn't realized that another had came through. Hadn't walked the same path as she had until they bumped into her back end and she stumbled forwards just a few feet and turned to see another. Ears twisting as she would calm her temper that would have normally snapped quickly on such an accident but this girl seemed geninue about it and Astrid would not tear her ear off for it. Claws scrapped the ground at the tremor and her legs bent to keep her steady as Astrid glanced around. Neat wouldn't be a word I'd use. But it was something.

From a very early age, Ember had known that she was different. That she experienced things in a different light than most did and chaos and disaster seemed to be where her excitement began. So, she was not all that surprised to not only be greeted with a quick snap of @Ástríðr's neck eyes on her, that her response wasn't all that weird. If anything, she was probably looked at like the villain. Which, to be honest, was fine -- she may even prefer it. Sooooooo why are you here? she asked, feeling the question to be intrusive but also genuinely curious as to why the woman was here if she didn't particularly enjoy the danger.

Why was she here? Sea foam jewels left the others form as she would begin to look around again and even move throughout the cave that they had been found in. Well, to escape the weather. She would muse though she wasn't entirely sure that was why @Ember was here and if she wasn't well then that was the young girls business and not Astrid's. And she wasn't going to pry either, though the question was still asked. Why are you here? She traveled into a new tunnel before stopping and glancing over her shoulder to see if Ember had even followed her or not. 'She thinks.'

A very strong and solid voice in her head told her that she should watch her tongue. It was an older voice and one that she knew was telling her the correct scenario that should play out in front of her and yet, she struggled against its hold on her. As she always did. @Ástríðr was, obviously, older and wiser beyond what young Ember had seen and done and yet she couldn't help but feel like the woman wasn't as smart as she should be. Especially if she was trying to escape the weather. I don't really think there is anywhere... here, referencing all of Amaryllis, that will allow anyone to escape. She gives small pause before shrugging, unless you leave-leave. Then you might have a chance. Ember wouldn't mind if anyone decided to leave-leave Amaryllis as it would mean more solo adventures and no one prodding into her business and interrupting her voice. This lioness was not entirely boring and was leading her to make some dark revelations but other than that held no strong ties as to whether or not this woman was conducive company. Exploring the weather, she gives a cheeky smile -- she didn't fear any of this and it only made her that much curious about what was around and changing. Ember Galloway wasn't going to let a little earth trembling stop her party.

@Ember would speak and Astrid would listen. What she said was true. Even though Astrid came into the Chambers to escape the outside weather, it was just as bad here as well. Well.. for now, we are safe from the outside world. Just watch your step. And then she began to travel more into the tunnels that made up the chambers. Sea foam jewels flickering from side to side and to her front and even behind her. Astrid wanted to make sure they wouldn't be trapped here. I don't plan on leaving Amaryllis. She would voice, What is your take on the weather? She wanted to know someone elses opinion outside of her own.

There was no surprise in knowing that other lions didn't have the same love for chaos and danger that she did. Biting her tongue as the woman suggested that she watch her step as though Ember wasn't already aware that the ground was a little shaky inside the chambers. Biting that tongue hard so as not to explode. As @Ástríðr moved away to travel more through the tunnels, Ember stood there for a few seconds longer and pondered whether or nots he cared to follow. Eventually the idea of a conversation and knowledge won out and she took a few quick skips forward before being at a comfortable pace behind her new company. Temperamental... but also interesting. Seeing as this wasn't a normal occurrence for any of the territories experiencing these strange weather phenomena, she couldn't help her curiosity. So she followed the woman and gave idle chitchat for as long as she could stomach it before setting out on her way. exit ember.
