October 11, 2024 Something is happening in the Scorched Wilds. There is a battle raging between a familiar force and an unfamiliar one. What will you do? Help or hinder?

October 1, 2024 Spooky things are happening as the afterlife start walking among the living once again.

September 30, 2024 Louve Dieudonné manages to keep Wolfbron Bluffs in the family. What will happen between the Bluffs and the otherwise peaceful pride of Lorien Plains?

September 20, 2024 Ilarion Rurik challenges for Wolfbron, will the Dieudonné lead pride fall?

September 8, 2024War broke out once again in the Lagoon when a wedding had some uninvited guest arrive. The war results in the most death matches the island has seen at once. The Summit was challenged by Brighid with Talisa answering the call. After many years of the Summit have the same two leaders, the Summit changes hands. What will this mean for the balance of Amaryllis? A witch hunt has started by Luther and Miaran which seems to be turning things on an island that is full of magic.

August 25, 2024 War broke out in the challenge for the Lagoon after Cassius tries to take the Lagoon from Isla. The Cove remains with Miaran. The leadership of the Mire switches from Sigrún hold to Rike when Luther comes back to take his birthland back. Elephants push into the Rainforest and push out the lions there. Soon after Lucifer lays claim to his birthland and takes over the Rainforest.

June 27, 2024 Conflict and tensions rise as prides come head-to-head with one another across Amaryllis - just as Pyrrha and Cassius take the leap to try and claim (or reclaim) their own thrones.

May 24, 2024 Rulers continue to shift, family strife ensues, and, per usual, tensions seems taunt and always lingering on the horizon.

April 24, 2024 Things are rocky within Amaryllis as the Dieudonne clash result in three deaths and forces a shift in the rulership of Firnen Rainforest. With Caladan Cove freshly overturned as well, what will the consequenecss of these events be?

March 30, 2024 The lull has ended as a long standing family, the Dieudonné, launch death matches against their own. The Plains sees a challenge from a new comer, Aphrodite, and the quite pride is pushed into the spotlight.

March 19, 2024 A momentary lull has overtaken the lands of Amaryllis as its inhabitants attempt to find their footing and rebuild after a string of challenges. How long it will last, however, nobody can be quite sure.

February 11, 2024 The Mire has fallen from the Stärke family and is now held by Luther Rike. The change has stirred but the fighting nature of those on the island. The Brook finds a new leader with Icefang and Isla takes over the Lagoon after a storm pushes out the old leader. Reti finds himself the leader of the Hollows after Alexander is hurt. The Oasis finds a new leader in Léonie who is soon tested by Harou.

January 8, 2024 The snow has finally begun to melt anew, which means that the world is slowly returning to the much-anticipated summer season. With the various holiday activities and the other jests put on by Nafasi also coming to a close, it is safe to say that winter is finally over.

December 5th, 2023 Nafasi had pulled a cruel trick and has sent Amaryllis back into a renewed winter season! But it's not all bad, because the lands will also see a handful of holiday-themed events popping up as a result. To make things more interesting, a wayward trio of travlers have also arrived and are facilitating a mass competition between the prides, bands, and rogues -- formally dubbed the Amaryllis Winter Games.

December 2nd, 2023 The spring air brings forth a number of pride challenges. A familiar challenger for the Cove and the Oasis arrive to try to earn what they want. The new leader of the Lagoon is tested in battle as well. What changes will come from the challenges? Who will remain standing and who will find their world turned upside down?

November 27th, 2023 In a challenge between mother and daughter, the leadership of Wolfbron Bluff changes for the first time in 5 IC years.

November 22nd, 2023 Two death matches, one resurrection, and an almost-war later, the lands find themselves in a constant state of turmoil and calamity. Families have been torn apart and endless blood has been spilt; but how is it all going to end?

November 3rd, 2023 The lands stir violently as a death match rages on between Aeistrios Saxe and Morrigan Greyflood. Observers spill into the pit in droves to witness what will no doubt be a historic battle -- and it is clear that this familial fued is far from over, no matter who wins and who dies.

October 12th, 2023 With winter comes the surge of more pride challenges; Ludivine challenges Ryker for Firnen Rainforest and is victorious in her endeavors, meanwhile an outcropping of maims breaks out on the sidelines. In a shocking turn of events Luther returns to challenge Bruno for Ecrosia Mire, will the former heir prove victorious or has Bruno got what it takes to keep his brother's ambitions at bay? This has undoubtedly shaken things up as Bruno declares war against Andal Oasis and Allies in the process!

HAUS OF DEVORRE

SÂNGELE ESTE VIAȚĂ
Those who traverse the great, desolate scrape of the eastern wastes know not to tread the shadow of the mountain without an offering. It is blood that feeds this land, and blood that keep it, and none other may sate it so.

ADALIA x THORNOPEN ADOPTS

HISTORY

For ages the Devorre have held the rolling wastes of the deadened velds to the south, securing their place in the bloody tales of merciless ruination. They have reaved and ravaged, plundered and pillaged and harrowed for resources, power, sport. The sanguinary but elegant aristocracy of the Deivalun in the eastern mountain forests were recently the first to make a steady ally of the Devorre, and have since made such great strides in influence that the two clans are near indiscernible. The Devorre have adopted much of their culture and beliefs, but will forever retain their primal hungers, their brutal natures, shadowed by the ancient curse of unrest and insatiable wants.

CULTURE

-- RELIGION; pagan-similar ideology, loose polytheism. they believe in nature as a force, but also believe an individual has the capability of making oneself a deity through memorable acts great and/or terrible.
• The only god beside ancestors they may honor would be the Naesarpe - a flighted serpent that lives in the mountains and can be an omen of fortunes or terrors.
• To be born under the appearance of the Naesarpe is a blessing.
• There are "hallowed grounds" of significance that are to be respected highly, and one will know them when they see or feel it. Disrespect is to be punished.
• Moon cycles are regarded closely: the Waxing cycle is for preparations; Waning is expense and action. A clear full moon night is great fortune; a starless, moonless night may be inopportune for anything but rest.
• Glory to those who die battling. Immortality is offered only to the brave and ambitious.
• One's power is in blood, and therefore, consuming a powerful individual's (or prey's) blood or flesh is to absorb that power.
• It is believed that blood from a living being is most potent and powerful.
• Astronomical events are significant; a clan may rely on their clerics to interpret.

-- PRACTICES;
• Marriage may be consummated by the sacred act of exchanging the partners' blood - a clan will not acknowledge any other union.
• Yearlings, at the mark of their first birthdate, will be sent on a hunt on the night of the first full moon following. They may not return to the pride until they are successful. (anything gazelle-sized or larger)
• When cubs are weaned they are bathed in the blood of worthy prey.
• Significant decisions may be made by a "council" of Elders (an age group often 8+) and higher ranks.
• The Devorre place a high value on freedom so arranged marriages are rare but may be seen as necessary in certain situations.
• Runts of the litter, by custom, have always been killed and offered back to Naesarpe or eaten in Its name. Only the strongest may survive.

-- RULES;
• High Sovereign is given the first choice of cut from a hunted prey. The Sovereign follows, then cubs (under 1 year), then the rest. Brains are typically avoided after an unfortunate spread of madness once.
• None may touch a cleric but a medic. To harm the cleric is punishable by death.
• Polyamory is not discouraged but only cubs born within a blood union may take part in the clan's practices unless proven worthy by some monumental event.
• Partners outside of a blood union are not Devorre, and therefore are excluded from Devorre practices.
• Disputes may be resolved in battle, but no battle may result in the death of a relative unless deemed proper consequence by trial.
• Prisoners may not be killed, unless deemed useless. Most are kept as bartering chips. Sharing clan information with a prisoner is forbidden.

TRAITS

-- PHYSIQUE;The Devorre have always known to be massive, burly, squared things, but modern descendants have been known to be a more elegant balance of leaner muscle to the titans they are.
• They tend to be on the high side of Medium build or Large.
• Small & X-Small offspring have been known to be born, and most of them may have been eaten by a parent or few.
• Not many are known to have a light, graceful gait - moreso violent and sweeping or a heavy plod.

-- COLORS;
• Earthy hues: clays, bronzes, browns, grey/blues, etc. though color varies by bloodline.
• Albinos are revered and guarded, rare, seen as fortunate signs.
• Stripes, gradients, dorsals, and spots/freckling are common. Brindling and rosettes are uncommon but not unheard of.
• Silver, light blue, orange, and red are common eye colors. Partial heterochromia is also common.

-- MUTATIONS; not all Devorre have mutations, and few have all - lives of more comfort in the modern bloodline have allowed for most genes to become recessive.
• Slightly longer fangs, for ripping
• Slightly longer claws
• Extra fluffy, from originating in chillier temps - but not year-round full winter coats
• Slitted pupils, their ancestors having been ambush-animals in the Wastes
• Maned lionesses & half manes are rare but occur.

INFLUENCES

The Devorre family is a new congregation built off the original family of the Deivaleonne (Deivalun here), who were vampiric and based solely in Romanian lore. Not the sparkly-boi vampires or the proper kind that give interviews but the charismatic and primal vampires that lure you into the dark and rip your throat out, unabashed of the blood spray. The Devorre can be considered something more of a lycanthropic influence - they are feral, insatiable, and more often than not, ruled by their savage whim. You may also liken their demeanor and clan-life to that of the Dothraki from GoT, though the culture is entirely their own.

Their names may be Romanian, French-similar, and Dark Elven. Any bloodline influences by marriage will be affected otherwise, as seen in the Adoptable lineages.

The languages the Devorre speak are broad due to mixing cultures by marriage or absorption via their invasions. They are mainly known to speak Commontongue and Romanian, but also have a very basic comprehension of French and Swahili and have been seen mixing languages either by habit or with the intention of confusing foreign company. Their knowledge of French and Swahili does not venture far past common words, greetings, or commands. Dependence and comprehension in otherwise language varies by bloodline, I.E. the Vicario-influenced line may speak Italian.

Their religion is based on ancient and neo-pagan ideology that is immersed with an awe for nature. They believe that the afterlife for those who make something of themselves in life is a route of immortality - and they may live on as spiritual deities, and that they exist as facets of nature with the purpose of guiding the Devorre in intuitive practices, hunts, and battles. The Naesarpe is the appearance of the Northern Lights, but the big kitty death machines don't know that.

RITE TO GODLINESS

Today's Devorre believe that they as individuals may be made a deity through acts that are great and/or terrible, should the Naesarpe find them worthy. If they are remembered by enough beings, whether famous or infamous, they believe it is possible that they may 'live on' in their afterlives. Yet, this is only possible if they have died a hallowed death. Those who die cowards will suffer an afterlife of anguished terror and must not be spoken of again.

In the manner of the way souls may continue in the afterlife, the Devorre find it necessary that they may continue the stories of those ancestors. They believe these ancestors must be spoken highly of, especially if one expects help from the afterlife. It is for this connection that they believe clerics are sacred - they believe that clerics may help the living transcend to glorious death and make the bridge from one realm to another. This is the list of ancestors (by time/era) that many Devorre rely on for protection and wisdom, holding on to their names and stories. They are equivalent to Idols in Amaryllis, but may only be prayed to - they will not appear in threads as gods or idols may unless they are an Amaryllis Idol.

DEITIES

CATURIX; -- A Deivalun warrior King. Many tales are woven of Caturix the Savage, Caturix of Kings, the Moon Drinker. Caturix developed as many enemies as there were allies to the Deivalun, and in the end of his life the count of enemies may have outnumbered allies. He was a bloodthirsty, merciless King that ruled staunchly by the Old Ways and believed this would grant his family fortune in the eye of the Naesarpe. He and his family were cursed by an enemy's cleric to never find satisfaction even in his most revered successes. It were Caturix who ultimately drove his enemies to seek his family and drive them out of their homelands and into the mountains, but it was also Caturix to instill the dread and horror in the Deivalun name. He was known for attacking at night on full moons, and feared for bathing in and drinking the blood of live, mutilated enemies.

VALEREIA; -- The first Deivalun matriarch/Queen. Prior to Valereia, the Deivalun were only led by a patriarchy - only the males of the family were the ones to fight for the right to rule the pride. The female members were commonly medics, herbalists, scouts and hunters, but never leaders. Valereia opposed this rule and fought savagely for her right. When her brother defied her, she wounded him and killed his heir. Years later when her brother and a small group of treasonous males attempted to dethrone her following a hunt, she and the hunting party of lionesses tore them to shreds and left their remains strewn as a lesson. She devoured the entirety of her brother and kept his bones. What remained of his children were permitted to stay, only after they swore loyalty to Valereia over his bones. Valereia went on to live a long, bloody rulership. A fable of betrayal and equality.

AVRAM; -- a Devorre warrior/heir. In a time where the Devorre were being raided ruthlessly by an enemy pride, Avram visited a once-allied pride to ask for aid. He was turned away but promised safe passage on his journey back home. Half-way in his return he was ambushed and chased into hyena territory by a treacherous group and was wounded by the encounter. Near death, he was found by a Deivalun herbalist who aided him to health and helped him return home. Deivalun family numbers dwindling, the Devorre and the Deivalun agreed to a marriage and joined to battle both the enemy and the betraying pride, ridding most the foe families and scattering what remained of them. They secured what land that pride held and maintained a strong alliance to today, holding a vast amount of the Wastes at the foot of the mountains. Regarded as a spirit of diplomacy and revenge.

DUMITRA; -- A Devorre hunter. During the long, grueling stretch of a famine in which their numbers were cut hideously and their enemies seeking this weakness, Dumitra travelled far and long through months of trailing migratory patterns with a small hunting party with the intent of seeking to fill the cache. In their journey they made gains and losses, suffering the assault of an enemy's party as well as gaining an ally through a new pride. By her diplomacy, mercy, and ambition she and a party reformed by this new alliance pushed a herd of antelope across the Wastes over the span of time back to Devorre grounds, where the remaining family made a bounty of the bringings. Dumitra carried on to lead many successful hunts following, and is called upon for guidance during hunts today.
