There are a few small things to note that we will be enforcing and implementing moving forward:
- The pride uprising system is paused until the Staff team has a chance to review the mechanics of the system and rework it. If you have ideas on how to improve the system, or would like to see what others have suggested, please take a look here!
- A minimum font size of 10 px for all tables, profiles, and other on-site content.
- You can now purchase extra genetic markings for rolled cubs in the shop.
- This will cost 50 petals per additional genetic marking, and you can't purchase bonus markings.
- The maximum amount of markings your cub can have (including any purchased ones) is the highest amount found on either parent. So, if one parent has 5 markings, the other has 10, and you roll 6, you can purchase up to 4 additional genetic markings to a max of 10.
- The timeframe to request re-rolls or +1 for cub requests has been increased to 72 hours. We will not be making further changes to these timeframes.
- Soul of the Warrior will post to declare when a thread has reached war/raid status. Wars and raids are only official after this has been done. In order to have the status of a prospective war/raid verified and to have it added to the log, please post in Fight Updates and utilize our new War/Raid form.
- Birthday gifts! On their birthday, members can select one of the following as a gift: a free RDG re-roll or 200 petals. Please indicate that it is your birthday gift when claiming.
- In order to be able to have this claimed, you MUST have your birth date in your OOC profile so we can confirm.
- The "longer claws" mutation has been moved down to Tier 3.
- Wounded rolls will now be displayed on a character's mini profile with the use of an icon. Hovering over the icon will reveal the date that their wounded status ends (without healer intervention), but players still need to request to have the wounded rolls reversed, their dice re-added, and the wounded status removed from their profile.
Please take a look at the Mini Update Log for other small adjustments and additions.
Get your costumes, candy bags, and jack-o-lanterns ready, because Amaryllis’ Halloween Event will be released on October 6th! We have a variety of different things planned, so stay tuned for that announcement! Welcome to the spooky season!
After some consideration, we will be modifying how luck rolls are done and handled within the fight system. Currently, they are only rolled in the last round of the fight — but we realize that this has caused the luck component to feel underpowered, and even moot at times.
And so, from this announcement, for any new fights luck rolls are to be rolled in every round of a fight. Rolling a "20" is still the only number that counts as a success, and the other rules will remain the same.
We hope that this provides additional balance to the system moving forward and that you guys enjoy this change!
In order to increase fairness for pride challenges, and to give all of our members who want to lead a pride an equal chance, we are making changes to how challenge cooldowns work.
Currently, if your character loses a pride challenge/defaults, only that specific character is placed on cooldown. We are changing it so that the player themselves will go on cooldown. This is to prevent individuals from simply cycling through and challenging with a variety of their characters after a loss.
- If you lose a pride challenge from official dice results, you will be on cooldown from challenging again with any of your characters for 2 weeks.
- If you lose a pride challenge by default, you will be on cooldown from challenging again with any of your characters for 1 OOC month.
In addition, we are adding a clause for repeated instances of disbandment that happen as a result of the same player.
- If you are a pride leader and have a pride disband twice beneath your rule, your character will be placed on cooldown from challenging, claiming a pride, or becoming high sovereign for 6 OOC months (1 IC year).
We understand that not all characters are religious, and also may not have the opportunity to learn about Maua in order to receive wisp cubs, as per the current Guidebook. This is why we are going to be expanding the wisp cub system to be more inclusive, fair, and wide-reaching than it currently is. Maua is still the center of the wisp system in order to work within our lore, but does not need to play an obvious role, in the way they did before.
- Regardless of how the wisp cubs are delivered, the couple in question still needs to be in love and have a strong desire to have children together. There needs to be evidence of this desire and relationship within the parents' threads.
From here on-out, Maua does not need to roleplay back and forth with the prospective parents of the wisp litter. This can be requested if the players would like, but it is not mandatory.
Instead, Maua will work in a more flexible and open-ended way. Maua will still post to the thread to finalize the "conception" of the litter, but players have reign on how this is done. This includes options on whether Maua appears or not, what form they take, etc. When requesting Maua and the opportunity for a wisp cub litter, members will have the chance to specify and detail what way would make the most sense for their characters. This could look like:
- Maua taking the form of another deity or religious figure;
- Maua blessing the parents in secret and making one of them pregnant (if two lionesses);
- Maua blessing the parents and bestowing the cubs upon them after they have been "born"; or
- Any other ideas that you may have. The Staff team will work with you to find a way that makes sense for your characters and Maua.
We hope that these changes provide more inclusivity and allows you more control over your characters and what makes the most sense for them.
Moving forward, we are implementing a Death Match Form that must be submitted to an Admin prior to initiating the fight against another character. This is available in the Guidebook, and is a way for Staff to verify the validity of IC reasoning and to have a heads up that a Death Match will be occurring.
On a similar note, if you feel as though a character is hiding behind their PVP for any reason, at any time, please approach a Staff member so that the situation can be rectified. Hiding behind PVP levels is not allowed, and is an example of breaking the site's rules.
To provide some clarity and to promote fairness throughout the fight system, we would like to provide some outline on how summoning a character to a fight works.
- If you are in a thread with a character you would like to fight, you can challenge or initiate fights against them as you wish (within their PVP restrictions). This is the status quo and doesn’t change anything about how things have been done thus far.
- Creating a thread and initiating a dominance, maim, or death match challenge and summoning the opponent into the thread is non-enforceable. The person you are summoning to fight is not required to respond unless they are already in the thread.
- Example: Bob and Tim are in a thread together, and Bob initiates a maim match against Tim; Tim needs to respond by either fighting back or attempting to escape — vs. — Bob creates a new thread in the Pit challenging Tim to a maim match. Tim is not required to respond to the thread, and will not suffer consequences for not showing up.
- Claims, thefts, pride rank, pride uprising matches, and pride challenge are the exception to this. Failure to respond to these challenges at all within 72 hours will result in a loss, and the consequential loss of the member/pride, as per usual.
We have a few bigger things that we are working on that we are aiming to implement for the November update. Please note that this is a work in progress, but we thought that you guys might be interested to know some big-ticket items that are on their way!
- Trade perks re-balancing;
- Partial trade experience for dead threads;
- New size charts; and
- Changes to how to claiming disbanded prides work
