Aria needed to shake off the boredom of inactivity brought with, and what better excuse than a hunt? The intoxicating scent of rain and late blooming flowers surrounds him, enveloping his fur. Why not take it a step further and smell like the gardens? The cheetah rolled in the dirt, broken flowers and soil clinging to his sides as he sneezes. Once that was taken care of, Aria shakes out his damp coat with a grunt, head bowed, as he scurries off in search of shelter. A fine mist covers the land, shrouding everything in a watery haze.

It's tempting to go home, they think, turning their head this way and that. The fields are mostly flat and featureless from the looks of it, yet something catches his eye. Pink gaze narrowed on a rocky outcrop, and he climbed up it's side. To Aria's frustration, the view from his vantage point isn't much better, yet his whiskers twitch as he tasted the air. Finally, he smiles, his tail twitching with excitement. The cheetah lets out a low series of calls, hoping to attract the attention of the Aviary and others alike.

4 yrs, no perks

Azhira, fortunately, wasn't far when she heard @Aria's calls. She, too, had come to Ivelum Gardens, hoping to find fresh and perfumed flowers growing in the approaching spring. It was a scentless and lonely winter, and she craved the smell of fresh flowers for her fur once more.

She was disappointed to find that she shoots weren't mature enough to pluck and take with her, to add to her bath later on, so instead, she just picked a patch that looked lively enough and rolled in them. She made a mental note to return to the Gardens at a later date to collect the flowers.

When she heard Aria's calls, she righted herself and stood, shaking the leaves and petals that clung to her fur with haste. The floral scents that clung to her were faint, but they would do for the moment. She made a beeline for where Aria was and crouched low in the shoots as she waited for others to join them. Beyond them was the scent of something delicious, though mixed with many other scents in the breeze, she couldn't quite figure out what it was that they'd hunt today.

It was easy for him to get actual lost in the Gardens, due to most of the giant flowers able to hide him completely within their green, leafy arms. There were perks to being extra small, but usually, Hyperion just found it annoying.

He soon found he had stumbled upon a couple of big cats crouched low and ready to hunt. They weren't your usual lions, though. In fact, one was a tiger and the other a cheetah. They were both animals he did not yet come face-to-face with before, so Hyperion naturally kept his distance. In fact, he kept himself hidden within the taller flowers in the gardens behind them. He wasn't really hiding, but he wouldn't mind if they remained blissfully ignorant until they actually started the chase...

It is instinct that draws Viveka towards the gardens, chasing after the tantalizing scent of her next meal amidst the thick perfume of the many flowers crushed beneath her prowling form. It almost makes her feel dizzy with how often her nostrils flare to take in deep samples of the air, but hunger is capable of honing a hunter's focus to startling sharpness.

The ragtag pair of felines she stumbles across are...unexpected. They aren't quite lions - the golden, spotted one is too lean, the striped one is too...stripey.

She watches the beasts with narrow-eyed suspicion, her chin tilted upwards pretentiously as she skirted around them into the taller strands of grass and flowers. She wouldn't need their help to being down her prey, of course.

But if they wished to donate their efforts to her cause, she supposed it might be acceptable.

The spring rains have brought forth a plentiful bounty in this corner of the prairie, new life surging forth in a burst of color, the hills overflowing with an abundance of bright and aromatic flowers. The dappled beast is unusually light on his feet as he traipses his way through the gardens, his head dropped low to brush his nose against the soft blossoms as he studied their patterns.

The nearby calls for a hunt find Mircea at work, digging his claws into the earth to uncover the roots of Devil's Claw, his massive paws pausing in contemplation.

Ultimately, the Savante cannot escape the promise of spilled blood. Uninspiring though a hooved beast's essence might be.

He finds a mix-match of felines gathering in preparation, a lovely silver-furred tigress amongst them. He crouches as low as he can manage in the tall grasses near @Azhira, offering her little more than a rumble of greeting before his tan eyes shifted away to look forwards towards their quarry.

Azhira arrived, followed by a motley troupe of lions. Aria sighed with relief that the miserable weather hadn't disrupted their plans. Take that, rain! He scanned the gathered felines, and the way they largely kept to themselves. Lions were odd, for such typically social cats; they weren't the friendliest bunch, but then hunting was treated as a necessity rather than an excuse to exchange information. With a soft chirp, he greeted a lioness (@Viveka) who looked at him and Azhira with narrowed eyes. Hm? What was her problem?

The arrival of an enormous male caught his attention, as did the interaction between @Mircea and Azhira. A shy smile curled up at the small detail – though it was none of his business, he felt genuine joy for the tigress. She'd worked hard, didn't she deserve the good things in life too?

Loud noises ahead put an end to any further observation, as two large shapes emerged from the tangled greenery. Two young rhinos. Aria is on the move, dry earth and shredded foliage marking his path. “Quick!” The cheetah believed he could keep up with the calves, but lacked the raw power of his leonine cousins to do little more than nick the animal's thick skin. “Take them down!”

Unlike some of the other members of this motley collection of cats, Viveka feels no compulsion to 'socialize.' @Aria's cheery chirp of greeting is merely met with a side-eye from the Rike, offering the skinny, spotted feline a cursory glance before turning her head away with a 'hmph,' making a demonstration out of the way she lifts her nose into the wind to unravel the musky scent of her prey from the garden's perfume.

Rhinos? Rather tough creatures to go up against in almost every definition of the word, even if these particular specimens happened to be quite young.

A fanged smirk curves her lips slowly, revealing the pearly whites of her fangs to the open air. She doesn't need to hear the cheetah's insistent cries before she's off like a bullet, a dark blur racing across the flowery fields to shadow one of the calves like the grim reaper itself. All the while, she revels in the way her muscles flex beneath her elegant hide, cherishing the way they burn, the way her breath quickens.

Like this, there is no question of her power.

Considering the height advantage that the colossal beast occasionally remembered to make full use of, it's not so difficult for Mircea to spot the two large, grey silhouettes snuffling through the garden's blooms. Rhino calves? The hooved creatures of Amaryllis certainly seemed to have an unfortunate knack for leaving their youth unattended. It made for a predator's paradise, really.

The spotted feline signals that the hunt has begun, practically darting halfway across the field in the blink of an eye, and Mircea lunges forward to try to keep them in his sights. Though not before he offers @Azhira a meaningful look, inviting her to keep pace with him, wondering if she might understand. A lumbering beast such as he is not exactly built for speed, but if the most agile among them were to tire their prey out in the meantime, his energy could be best used to bring a rhino to its knees.

A tiger made for a fine partner for such strategies, in his experience.

Azhira was too focused on the prey to notice the shifty look of the lioness. Either way, they would all work in uniform to bring the animals down.

When the prey had come into view, it was obvious why its scent was mixed with so many others - it was a duo of dirty, little rhino calves. As they ran, a dust trail followed behind them, and Azhira squirmed inside thinking of getting blood on her fur. Still, they must eat, and if they were going to make the effort, they would have to get their paws dirty.

Their first attempt was unsuccessful. @Aria had the speed, but not the strength. He needed their help a bit more. Running alongside a lion with similar coloring as herself, Azhira traded a glance with him, a nod, an unspoken plan. She got the message and easily kept pace with him, feeling her breaths puffing out through parted jaws. She'd follow his lead then, and provide him support in his plan.
