Trigger Warning: This is my little corner of mad brainstorming and creative thoughts. I rather post this here, than in the plotting section, as it's easier to keep a track of and much less cluttered
23.01.24 I'm back from one of my hiatuses, and looking for more threads with my characters. I'm chosing to stay out of the discord server for personal reasons, but feel free to contact me on site via messaging. I check my alerts daily and I am very invested in the site. If we've written before, and I let our thread die, I'm very sorry - sometimes, my muse just abandons me and I can't revive it no matter how much I try to care. I'm back now though, my muse has ressurected itself, and I'm looking to write some more words with those who are interested. My only request is that I would prefer to avoid all major plots involving prides and families, because my characters tend to be extremely fickle, and joining another group is just not for them. I've learned that they're non-committal towards almost everything, and "staying" in one place for too long kills my muse for writing. In short, they're anti-social.
Anways, we can always just write, and see where things go. I have a loose idea of what kind of path I'd like my characters to lead, but nothing is set in stone. All are hermits in some way, the males more than the females, but they are capable of feeling and connecting with others - it's just difficult for them to stay. My characters usually have an undertone of romanticism attached to their names, but it's not really love in the end; it's more of an obsessive feeling that comes and goes whenever they feel like expressing themselves. If it's love, it's rare. So often, they choose themselves.
@Katana - Formly known as Eurielle. Cold, dark, graceful, detached, selfish, reserved. She has no connections with any family despite her lineage - or anyone soul for that matter - and prefers to keep it that way; even though she currently has her eye on someone. Currently wandering around, haunting various locations in the Freeze and the Thickets, spending her days alone. Ideally, I'd like her to have at least one friend, someone she can confide in, but that remains to be seen, and she doesn't trust, easily. She's both venomous and girlish at once, looking at the world through a whimsical, blood-colored lense. Strangely romantic at heart (in a vampiric sort of sense), but for a soft girl, her emotions are frigid, often tumultuous; with an underlying darkness and fascination for death. Chance meetings are high - she's quiet, and she's there one moment, and gone the next; her vibes are dreamy, vampiric, touch-and-go, fleeting. Hard to pin down. Hard to understand. Don't even try. You'll just get poisoned. But do enjoy the melody as you wither away.
@Riven - Formerly known as Amaroq; the revenant, the ghost, the wanderlusting spirit. Amaroq the heart-broken; withering away, and still pining after his late wife. Well, before my hiatus, I had been planning Amaroq's death, because he had become too burdensome and too emotionally overwhelming for me to write. But after my time away from the site, I began to realize that he's too much apart of me to simply let go, so I've decided to kill the old Amaroq and keep the ressurected version: Riven. Riven means 'to split or tear apart, violently', which I feel is the perfect new name for him. His life has been all that and more; chaos, love, death, isolation, rebirth. He doesn't remember much of his past, now; perhaps it's the numbness setting in, or he's simply forgotten bits and pieces over time, but Riven is colder, crueler, and more detached than ever. Being so cold helps him move on; move on from his failures, his vices, his lost loves. He still feels like a ghost, a revenant, but there is now an acceptance to all this wintry cold; and apart of it is due to his new-found emotions towards a cryptic and violently beautiful woman, who is (in her own devilish way) guiding him into the 'light'. Riven doesn't need friends, but he does need to wake up from time to time and touch the realm of the living. Anything to remind him that he, too, has to breathe.
@Harou - Morbid, violent, icy, detached, wolf-hearted, steely, callous, aloof. Did I mention aloof? Aloof. Just like Riven, Harou has ressurected himself, too; ressurected himself into a self-made path of isolation and solitude. He views himself as untouchable; a wrathful entity with no room for remorse or love, and moves now with the only motive to survive on his own. In his youth, he had been charismatic, wild, uncaring and perhaps even charmingly arrogant, but the Harou now has no room for others in his heart, and in his darkest of moments - questions even his own existence. Shrouded in a constant state of hungering - volatile, festering and forever touched by winter's wrath - Harou's path has become one of isolation, unpredictability and devout solitude. There is a disturbing sense of restlessness about Harou, something unsettled and cursed, as though he's lived for hundreds of years and still cannot find peace. Darkness and violence follows Harou, an intimate feeling he knows all too well; a feeling, he leans into with a great passion. Usually seen lurking around in the shadows somewhere like a mad, deranged ghoul; a man of few little words, strange in his behavior, although mesmerizing to some who shares his fascination for death. He's open to most interactions, such as fights and flings, but like my other characters, expect surrealism and a dream-like state.
@Arawn - My newest character and perhaps the softest, Arawn is my young warlock male who is a lot more gentler in persona, conpared to my current roster of brooding and vampiric heathens. He is atleast somewhat optimistic and charming, viewing the world as one great big adventurous tale of magic, beauty and chaotic wonder. He is inspired by Howl, from Howl's Moving Castle, and the series The Sandman. He is ethereal, intellegent, elegant, somewhat cold (but never cruel), charming in his own quiet way - and very much refined in mannerisms. Despite the refinement of his graceful masculinity, there is still a feral edge about him; eyes that look at you with the silent cunning of a wolf. Moving through the world, gracefully, he seeks to understand those he comes across, him being an empath and healer. Currently, he wanders around, looking for the next new adventure.
@Artem - My young baby dragon in the works, he will need other cubs to thread with when he enters the Amaryllis scene. He's gonna be a wild, mad, elegant heathen - selfish, violent huntsman and incredibly detached - think of Artemis in all her proud, feminine glory, being reincarnated into the body of a hot-blooded male. Yeah, this will be my attempt at a social-but-still-detached character. In the future, I may be open to more volatile plots with Artem, but for now he's a lurking, dark baby.
@Brielle - A soft baby viper with blood-stained teeth. Eyes of criminal red betray the tainted innocence and dark beauty burning from within. Calculative, cold, detached, observant, graceful, shy. Only speaks when spoken to, otherwise a silent ghost, keen as a blade and wise beyond her years. She's elusive, she'll never try to fit in. An eerie shadow on the wall, no matter who or how many surrounds her.
That's it, that's my current roster. Anyway, if you are interested in writing with me and my eidolons, do let me know via private message. I'm always around lurking and I'm happy to brainstorm loose plots.
Note: If you read all this, thank you.
