Fissure was finding success in his hunting trips of late, which was quite an accomplishment during times of such chaos. It would seem the worst of it was behind them, and he was eager to explore and see how the prey animals had been influenced. He had not been back to the jungle since he first observed the fire, now he could see the results of it. Much of the jungle appeared charred and ashen, trees burned up but still standing, the ground rough without the familiar moss and grass coverings.

Sweet, lovely, powerful mother nature, please allow this doting subject safe passage through this tainted jungle. While observing the surroundings, he would notice fresh tracks in the resting ash, deciding these were the ones to follow. Hopefully, he would leave this jungle with a bit of food to bring back to the Cove for his famished pride.

He did not exactly make a habit of following his members, but picking up on Fissure's trail leaving the cove was all too tempting. The lion had struck Sahir as odd, to say the least, and he was interested to see what he might get up to during such a time of tribulation. He wandered along at a steady jog, deciding that he could use the outing as an excuse to work on some stamina training. Even if he was not willing to admit his weaknesses aloud, Sahir, like any large and brawny lion, was a bit less than agile.

The terrain around him turned from open plains to more dense vegetation, eventually revealing the jungle, of all places. Sahir lifted his muzzle to the air and drank in the sour stench of charred ash, coming to approach a large boulder amongst the trees and sharpening his claws carelessly along it. This was when he realized he had finally caught up to the dark lion.

"Hunting?" He asked in a low murmur, not eager to scare away whatever the lion was after. He tore his gaze from the lion to the tracks he was staring at, trying to get an idea of what they might belong to. Whatever it was, he would try and assist.

This wasn't what he expected when he left to take stock of this place. The jungle has become a skeleton of itself; a naked framework with its charred, skeletal fingers jabbing demurely at the sky. There seems to be nothing left of anything that once made the jungle inviting and appealing. He can still smell the soot across the air, unpleasant and dry. Looks like it could have been a wildfire, but that would be quite unusual for this time of year. Seems like the jungle is yet another habitat to fall to the ravages of the extreme weather. He continues to push through the quiet jungle—devoid of the life that previously inhabited it—until he comes upon two lions. Going by their hushed tones, there might be a chance for a potential dinner here. "Did I miss the party?"

3 years, no bonuses The Oasis also needed food, and even more as the water scattered and hunger seemed to attack sooner than before. As the newly ranked Lead Hunter, she was right away going around hunting and bringing all the shit she could, whatever really. She was never a picky eater, and she wanst about to start being one, that was stupid on her own point of view. But things were improving, atleast outside the Oasis, and it was time for her to use the chance to bring food to the always gorwing numbers of the pride. More cubs and new members meant more stomachs to fill up. Luckily the jungle seemed to had chilled out with the fires, leaving only smoky places and some heat but less harhs than before. There she spotted some other lions. In the process of hunting aswell. Oportunistic as she could be, she hopped into it, hopping to steal from whatever they managed to catch,she willing to help bringing it down. Yearling, no bonus

Thrain had every intention as a freshly fledged yearling to start exploring the abilities of his body and skill. He had partaken in some loose hunting lessons, and surely Jafar's sleuth training would come in handy? The jungle was a nightmarish place the last time he visited; overrun with fire and raging baboons. It seemed quieter today.

One could hope.

The distant bellow of smoke only partially conceals their scent, and he detects the hunting party eventually; pausing by a pile of ash and soot to roll liberally within it, masking his own cavey aroma. Through the fire-scarred trees he slinks, assessing the situation loosely before joining them.

"What are we hunting?" he asks the group, looking from maned woman (@Alma) to the multi-hued male @Ambrose. Amethyst gaze flitting casually between the two darker males - @Fissure and @Sahir. He hopes nobody will really notice his youth, and he'd do his best to fit in and appear more capable than might have been true.

The trees pressed in close, blocking out the sun. They shelter lions and fire today; The smell of heat and ash fill his nose, burning even worse than the grass itself. That was a hell in itself, but he's come inland in search of exactly this. A hunting party -- small, but hopefullycapable. With the lands being so unsettled it means the sea, too, is suffering. He will do many things but let his children starve was not one of them. Evem if it means coming ashore to hunt what little prey tbr fire hasn't driven out. Hulking paws bring the man into the fray, settling in towards the back of the growing group. Palomino ears tick forward, intent -- ready and waiting.

He, too, is curious about them.

He weren't no stranger to hunting parties -- hell, he weren't even a stranger to ones run by @Fissure, the black lion with a luscious head of hair that didn't seem to have any other hobbies than KILLING. Doe weren't judging, though. It keeps him fed and fit and happy, and so he comes when called -- beckoned forward through the jungle on uneasy paws. Fire and brimstone had no place in a jungle but here it was anyway. Hopefully it'd mean the prey they were after would be a little out of sorts. Can't run for your life with smoke in your lungs, right? Dont worry handsome, we're just gettin' started, he croons to @Ambrose with a gleam in his eyes, lips curling back in a wolfish grin. He weren't late at all, but he would have to work. And speaking of work -- his gaze lilts towards the leader of this little group, tilting his head, ready.

She had been hesitant to return the jungle, ever since she had first caught sight of the ominous glow of flames pulsing from between the trees and smelled the first hints of smoke on the breeze. In the recent days, however, things seemed to have calmed. Not entirely, perhaps, but enough so that Adrien finally felt brave to venture back into the rainforest, to see how whatever of it remained had fared.

She is relieved to see that many of the trees still stand, though their trunks have been charred and blackened with soot. Some of the lush, green vegetation has survived as well, new sprouts even poking out from piles of pale ash.
The devastation had been terrible, but the land would recover. She had to hope that it would, in any case.

The jungle seemed quiet. A heavy silence having fallen beneath the dense canopy in the wake of the roaring destruction that had plagued it for so long. Adrien stumbled upon the hunting party by accident, gilded violet eyes blinking slowly at the gathered faces, some more familiar than others, tilting her head in obvious curiosity. “Is there even anything left to find here, after all that’s happened?” She asks aloud to nobody in particular, though she keeps her voice hushed out of politeness. She doesn’t want to scare anything away, in the off chance that there was still prey lurking within the ravaged undergrowth.

If there is, Adrien wouldn’t be against helping out. She like to think she’s getting better at this, considering the success of the previous hunts she’d joined. She slides amongst the group, ears perked forward in interest as she awaited any sort of signal.

It seemed Asylum had found her way to another hunt, rather unintentionally. Fissure was becoming a familiar face for her, present at every hunt she partook. She had seen his talent for it and so was rather compliant with him as a leader of one. She would simply play her part, using her small stature and agility to help corral prey and direct it back towards those of weight to bring them to the ground.

Before that, Asylum had been simply wandering the blackened jungle, closely connected to the Mire. Even with its ash smudging her fur, she found herself more tolerant than the mud of her current pride. Sometimes she wondered why she was still there with Ronin no longer as attentive as he once was. He might be the only one that might be disagreeable with her leaving it. Worry over a home could come later though, for now, she was intent on a hunt, as well as keeping an eye out for anything of value or intrigue.
