Winter does not wane like usual.
Something is amiss and abnormal.
Nature is reacting.
Nature is bending.
Will you break?

The blizzard comes quickly and unexpectant. It was only a few minutes ago that the sky was blue and clear. Now it was grey and dark. The snow began to fall at an alarming rate, the precipitate is thick and heavy. Dangerous snow, the sort that easily builds up and could more easily crush anyone below its weight. The paths to safety down the mountain seem to have been stuck hard and fast by the snowfall, they are too dangerous to trek through while vision is inhibited by the blizzard. Shelter must be found elsewhere and the storm must be waited out...

Gareth was beginning to have no idea what to expect when it came to Amaryllis and its constant changes. Whether it be external, internal or environmentally everywhere -- it never ceased to amaze him. So when he stumbled upon the extraordinary he couldn't help but feel his skin crawl. This was not Maua's doing. It couldn't be. He had met them and they had seemed kind, considerate and protective of their children. They would not subject them to this but if he knew anything about these situations it was that there was always someone to help. To see this winter storm come on so quickly was odd and unnatural. Quickly beginning to place itself upon the ground and not disappear as he had hoped. So he called out for anyone around him, eager to put his own strength to work and to escort anyone to safety and to a cavern should he be able to remember the path...

She was pretty sure that the gods were angry with them. This winter storm seemed to appear from nowhere, and she had just been hoping to have a mildly cool day on the mountain. But the looming storm had sent a shiver of alarm down her spine, and so she sought out shelter. She moved quietly, and quickly, her eyes darting around for both shelter and for any others who may now have seen the storm, when her eyes landed on a male. ( @Gareth)

“Crazy storm coming!” She called as a greeting as she neared him, studying him for a moment before offering him a smile. “Any idea where any caves are?” She asked, shivering a bit, as she cast a wary glance over her shoulder at the impending storm.

This is no weather for a lion accustomed to the desert climate. But the Heir of the Oasis had ventured this far to keep tabs on the natural disasters wreaking havoc on Amaryllis and it is far too late to turn around. Ears flatten on top of patched head as the weather grows worse, mismatched gaze narrowing as he thinks he can pick out some figures ahead. Perhaps they would know how to best deal with the blizzard.

So he approaches, his vision and his sense of smell obscured by the sleet and by the time he realises that one of two lions gathered is someone he would rather not encounter in such conditions, it is too late. Leander Miroslav considers walking on by but that would be daft -- there was some safety in numbers in such a phenomenon.

He is close enough to hear @Ghyslaine's question to @Gareth and the patched male motions towards the distance with his head: "I thought I passed some structure over that way," he offers as evenly as he can, gaze shifting from the male to the Mire woman, keeping his distance. The chill was beginning to set in and Leander was keen to get out of the cold -- even if that meant dealing with a former friend turned foe.

He didn't think anything of going up the mountain in the middle of spring, but perhaps he should have considering the odd happenings in the lands recently. At any rate, he'd wandered up there and now it looked like he might well get snowed in and become the land's biggest popsicle.

There was a call from nearby, and as he drew near the source he picked up on the scent of the Oasis. It seemed as though he wasn't the only one to have decided to come up here.

He moved to stand beside Leander, his already bulky frame becoming more so every moment that passed as the ice and snow stuck to him, weighing him down. This was lovely.

As far as introductions to places went, this one was dramatic. How had ended up in the coldest part of the lands before passing through everything else? Plot convenience.

Sudden storms were a thing he hadn't really experienced before, coming from a moderate and stable climate. So it was interesting to feel cold and snow for the first time. It was far less interesting to see the sky darken and the snow come down almost all at once.

Movement ahead caught his bicolored gaze and he shifted himself back into gear, pulling his attention away from the clouds above. There was safety in groups, and it was smarter to join up even with strangers than risk getting himself buried and frozen.

"Hey!" he called as he neared the others, "Is this normal?" He honestly didn't know. He'd never been here, never experienced a snowstorm outside of tales told to cubs to keep them from crossing the mountains to get out of the kingdom.

The lionesses was beginning to think she just had terrible luck. A trip out to the Peak to try and hunt birds or smaller mammals tucked away had lead her straight into a storm. One that seemed to be getting increasingly bad. Alizabeth was not a large feline, she was small - and the only advantage she had in this cold was the thickness of her fur. With that said, however, she was still not large enough to draw in a lot of body heat when it mattered. It's why she had Ransom and Alabaster to keep her warm at night. And other reasons, of course. Shivering started early as the temperature began to drop fast, her teeth clenching together as she fought her way through the growing storm. It was pure luck that she happened upon a somewhat medium sized cave like structure - more an overhang than anything, but it had secure walls. It was then she noticed the others, looking for something to hole up in. Damn...that was a lot. Instead of remaining quiet like she should've, the lionesses called out to them. "Over here! We'll hafta fuckin' squeeze in!" This was going to be one helluva night. @Gareth @Ghyslaine @Leander @Seraphiel @Zagreus

Oleander had gone out searching. He was determined to find that nothing place again. He had to know where he had been so that he could prove he had been there. He hadn't just disappeared, he had been somewhere. The place to start was going back to the place of snow. That was where he had ended up. If he could trace back from there then he was certain he would eventually find that nothing place once more.

He found the snow again easily enough, sooner than expected really. That meant the nothing place couldn't be far off, right? Sadly wrong, all that was up ahead were a number of others but they were seeking something as well. Turns out the something was just shelter. But maybe someone would know of the nothing place still.

Social venture weren't something he was used to and he didn't even know how to begin to phrase the question. All he could managed for the moment was an acknowledging grunt to those gathered.

"Little in. Big out." A decision was made after the proposed shelter was looked over.

The blizzard had come in so fast that white-out conditions were making it hard not to accidentally walk off of one of Freyr Peak's cliffs. He heard voices of the others, but to be truthful, he couldn't actually see them. He just followed the sounds of their voices, carefully. His large paws made deep prints in the snow, and his gray coat would help him stand out - at least a little. But none of that mattered since the snow was collecting quickly on his fur and quickly filling up his prints.

Someone yelled from farther away, and he tried followed the sound of their voice, eventually finding that he had reached other bodies now. Dark shapes begin to form around him, but a few lions mention that they have shelters they can take anyone to.

"Who knows a shelter big enough for us all to fit in?" Reynir calls out, wondering if the woman would volunteer that hers would, or the man who mentioned seeing something like one just a few paces back. If neither of them would answer, then it'd be up to the group to find something... and fast.

He had the heavy coat and he was used to living in these conditions, but he worried for the others. Not everyone was built for such snowy and cold conditions. They'd really need something deep to protect them.

One lioness appeared to him first and she was a bright gold amidst the backdrop of the incoming snow. Even @Ghyslaine's admonition, he could feel in his bones that something was certainly brewing and it would be detrimental to anyone if they stayed out in it. I saw one, not too far back.. but then as it would have it several more lions were beginning to surface. An unfamiliar lion motions in the direction from which Gareth had come to let the two of them know that there was something back there. Perhaps that had been the one the Taur had seen. Likely the one I passed, he murmured quietly to himself as a means to show the male that he knew which one was being referenced and could help get there.

Another lion (@Seraphiel) settles in besides Leander, and another comes in to ask if this had been a regular occurrence. Not at all. Not for Spring. He would give his answer to @Zagreus. Up north is could get pretty cold but for the Peak? This wasn't natural at all, not like this. Attention then given to @Alizabeth as she called out to all of them that there was another location near her that they could find relief in but that it was going to be a tight squeeze.

Turning to @Leander first and foremost since he had been the one that had known of potentially the same cave as he. You can lead a few of us to that shelter. Then turning to the small hardly-seen white woman that had found another location. There is another cave nearby. This lion will lead a small group to that one so that we don't have to bunk without air and space. Not that that didn't sound cozy, or anything, but given how many large builds were in this group he didn't think that them all bunking in one would be sufficient.

@Oleander had the right idea to put the smaller well within as their bodies couldn't produce as much heat. Plus, the larger could block out most of the cold and wind that would break in. Glancing towards @Reynir, he opted that now was a good time to begin directing. Split up into two groups. A few can follow this lion, he had no name for the gold and white guy, and the rest stick with this woman within the shelter she has found. If anyone else had any grand ideas, he was all ears but this seemed the best way to wait it out.
