NATURE’S WRATH

Winter does not wane like usual.
Something is amiss and abnormal.
Nature is reacting.
Nature is bending.
Will you break?

The other residents of the forest are getting restless in this cold. Foliage and manner of things to eat are sparse so what little remains is growing more and more valuable by the day. Creatures prepared for winter, not for a cold spring without relief. In the edges of the thicket two immense creatures are beginning to grow heated- an elephant and a black rhino square off at the edges of the thicket. Little leave sprouts dot the length of the thick and thorny plants. One of the few food sources around. Both of these titans want the share of it for themselves, their violence grows, and will not stop for any unfortunate lions who stumble into their path.

To linger amongst the hides of moon-high, and fire flames is something that does not seem wise to a man of healing stature. He should be home. Away from the chaos that endued the slaughter of Amaryllis - and yet, home was just as safe as anywhere else in this time shockingly. Between the toxic algae that grew in numbers, and the rising heat from the fires amongst their borders. A change in scenery seemed as if it would do more than good for the brute that held selfish needs. So - he staggers. Hobbling amongst the withering green growth, peeling apart at the edges of what remains and what has yet to be picked off by the relish of disaster. He wonders if they will starve, if his fate will become much like that back upon the isles. If he would be forced unto a world of lion eat lion once more only to watch his partners, friends, family be gutted and eaten alive. It's a thought that is too damning to bare, something that carries his mind way wards from his natural surroundings - so far wayward that the beast barely registers the sparce creation that is the fight for survival.

The ground shakes and rumbles beneath scar clad toes, a confused expression pulling tautly at the corners of Vághan's brows. Rising the furred muscles downwards into a crease as he drags a shallow foot amongst the rumbling grounds below. Then - the foliage breaks. Beasts. Demons, larger than he barreling straight towards his frame. No. Barreling straight towards one another, and he? Well - he's caught within the cross fire of eat or be eaten. It is too much to register within little time, and soon - he is caught between the stamping of angry feet and marring tusks. One wrong move and he surely is to be squashed amongst their quarrel, so he dances. FUCK! Ill and uncoordinated he spins and jumps, twirls, leaps - crawls and yet they're all too quick all too angry for he to find a way of escape. What a lovely day to die huh?

Ember had only been exploring and wandering, taking part in this strange new and chaotic world around her. Not at all concerned for anyone but herself, though she did feel a small amount of fear bubbling when she noticed two very large beasts tussling among the madness. Whoa! She screamed, immediately shrinking down to the ground as she realized the noise that she made could very well have been way too loud and they might have heard her. Thankfully, they seemed overwhelmed by their own instinct to fight but another lion hadn't quite been as perceptive as she.

They had wandered a bit too close and seemingly was within their crosshairs unexpectedly. So Ember moved to make noises at them. Trying her best to appear beastly in her voice but she was still just a lion and not as beastly as they. Got a deathwish? She cried, no longer fearing about the noises that she was making for the sounds of the beasts grunts and stomping was easily drowning it out on her end so she could only imagine what little they were hearing.

You couldn't miss it. The roars and trumpets and pawing of fleshy feet. They were giants, their rumbles and snorts like the bellies of great monsters over-head. For a few, imaginative moments, Thrain could have blamed these wildly displeased beasts for the storms themselves. With tempers like thunder and anger like lightning.

Though, as he emerged through the cold and desolate thicket, he see's a youngster - seemingly dancing about trying to make noise. What on earth. He approached, though not daring to loom right by her side, realizing there was a lion darting about amidst the chaos.

"What is wrong with that guy?" he mumbled, half to @Ember, half to himself. Then, he tried to muster up a manly roar of distraction, which wasn't that manly at all just yet.

It was the noise that drew him in. The sound of something big fighting something else big. That was always a good show and, occasionally, a good meal.

Upon arrival, it seemed he'd be treated to an even more entertaining sight. Two others had gotten there before him, dancing around the beasts. One of which he actually recognized.

Eyes narrowed as he stalked forward, keen to see what might happen to the once-trespasser, and very curious to see if a chance for a little comeuppance might appear. He'd slipped away too easily before, but hey, maybe he'd be crushed by an elephant or rhino and he could skin the bastard and present the pelt to Amara. Or Vermier. He'd probably appreciate it more.

Ryker settled himself a safe distance away, watching the scene ahead with unrestrained delight.

+15 - BWP XP - Barbarian exp The gray Sigrun made her way through the thicket, she was just in the mood to think and walk by. A lot bothered her mind, many insecurities builds in her chest. But as well trained as she grew up to be, she did her best to not let them affect her abilities to survive and weaken her will to live and be strong for those she had to protect. Being a mother gave her just the right amount of renewed strenght and determination to fight and be strong for someone. She once did for her mother and now she will do for her children. She wandered quietly through the vegetation, sniffing and having her senses up and aware of her surroundings. That was when she heard crashing like noises, like if two giants ran and clashed. She needed to see this. Quietly she approached to spot an elephant and a rhino fighting each other, causing such a destruction within their paths. But what made her even more interested where the lions nearby, one almost caught on the fire. Disaster. How thrilling.

Such difficult circumstances would bring the best and the worst out of individuals, and Fallon was keen to figure out what side trumped the other from those around her. Venturing beyond the border of the Mire, her belly swelling of children, the Salem woman decides to cast aside the worrying thoughts that Alizabeth had put in her head. A mother? Her? She wasn't sure if she was ready.

Thankfully, there is enough commotion ongoing in the thicket to distill her worries. She strides up next to a woman who sat away from the rest of the other's, coming to sit beside her as bright fuchsia gaze studied the creatures at war. Unfortunately @Vághan escapes death by trampling and Fallon cannot help but sigh in disappointment. "My money's on the elephant -- you?" she queries @Ragna, unsure if her company would be welcomed but caring little regardless.

With the Lagoon slowly sinking, or the ocean slowly rising (just which she wasn't sure), Dysnomia knew they might need to find a place to move to for a time. So she'd gone on an excursion to see what places were less devastated than others. This place didn't seem to have fared any better, but judging by all the noise nearby something was going on.

Attracted to chaos as always, she made her way to the source and spotted the two behemoths duking it out... and a rather unfortunate man in the middle of it. "You'd better run!" she called with a laugh. She figured he'd manage to get himself out of that particular mess before they noticed him, given how the titans were focused on each other.

The fires here had kept the Lagoon King away, but with food growing scarce along the shores, she was a bit desperate to try and find something to take down. Flickering flames, still dancing but dying, were scattered around the territory. Some still raging where the thicket was still lingering. She heard it before she saw it, the thundering vibrations the titans made in their aggression. Never before had she seen grass eaters fight in such a way, but it was damn interesting. Magenta eyes notice @Dysnomia and @Fallon, and even @Ragna, but the King remains next to her Queen. "Looks like we're not the only ones fuckin' fighting to survive." She drawls with a heavy sigh, features drawn into a mild scowl.

I'm a King, not a goddamn princess.

The world shifted around her, growling and beating its paws beneath the surface of the ground. It worried Shiva some, even as she crossed the lands, finding herself in Amethyst Grove, where all the chaos seemed to come to a climax. There had been a group gathered, watching two larger animals duke it out for a bit of vegetation that clung desperately to a nearby plant. The snow around the area sat comfortably upon everything, and it didn't look like it was going anywhere. There was a cool chill that lingered in the forest, and anyone standing there watching the titans would have noticed.

She watched as the titans went at it, and suddenly an idea came to her. "If we can decipher a losing opponent, maybe we can help and walk away with a meal suited for a king," she spoke loudly to the group, wondering if any of the other lions that gathered were brave enough to throw themselves into the fray.

She was, if the reward was worth the risk.

It would seem that she had not immediately noticed, two others had involved themselves in the fight. One lion - a gray beast with a white mane - and another female - brown coated - tried to involve themselves in the fighting pair. Shiva was all for the chaos, but she wanted to make strategic advances, not just throw herself into the fray.
