He felt the need to escape, to lose himself in the depths of the jungle. The obsidian ghoul had walked until his pads blistered and cracked. He stopped out of necessity, sitting and resting his back against a fallen log so that he could check his paws. Jungle floor debris had sunk into the wounds, he could see tiny parts of wood and vines had mingled with the newly formed scabs.
Ransom hissed at the stinging sensation as he tried to use his mouth to pick at it. Grumbling to himself, the male huffed and slid down a little more against the log, feeling the rough bark scratching his back .

She had taken the time out of the day to travel further than what she normally does. It wasn't something she was used to but she wanted to push her limits. Ygritte knew about Aquila's fight for Vermeda again and that he had one. That nothing would have to change again and she wouldn't have another panic attack again. She was safe. For now. So Ygritte traveled to the jungle and enjoyed the peace.her other senses were extra alert today as she would walk through the jungle. She walked until she began to smell a familiar scent and stopped short of a few feet from Ransom and would call to him as well. @Ransom

The ghoul was too concerned with himself to notice that he was not alone. It wasn't until @Ygritte's scent swelled into his airways that Ransom looked up, his brow furrowed in surprise. The lioness called to him shortly after his realisation and he watched as her petite blue form danced into sight and stopped before him.

This is far from your home @Ygritte, do you need my help? The concern that came upon him was as unusual as it was immediate. The behemoth rose to stand up, forgetting his cracked paws until he felt the roughness of the jungle floor shoot up through his legs. Fuck. He slumped back down to a sit._{BG — IMAGE — CODE}

She heard movement and her ears twisted towards it but her head didn't move. Nothing moved actually other than her ears. Foggy jewels stared into nothingness as she listened for the behemoth - not that she'd ever know that unless they touched - as he moved and called out towards her in return. Slowly, she pin-pointed his voice and moved towards it just as she heard his last word and concern etched it's way across her features quickly. Is everything alright? Don't be silly she had herbs in her bag as usual but it would depend on what was his issue. His own question and concern was ignored as she moved in the direction she had heard his voice though it was a slow pace. @Ransom

Ransom curled up his right forepaw and regarded it once again, his nose wrinkled in irritation at the sight of fresh blood seeping from the wound. @Ygritte neared, her concern pulling his attention back toward the blind lioness. Cerulean stare watches her for a moment, fixated by her careful, considerate movements toward him. All the while she seems to think nothing of her own safety, of the dangers that lurked all around. Ransom had been that danger once, though perhaps not anymore.

I've been careless, my pads are cracked and bleeding. He informed her, growling at his own stupidity. Instinctively, Ransom reached out one of his injured paws to touch Ygritte's shoulder as she came close. It was as much to guide her as to take the opportunity to feel the odd coloured fur. Ygritte could now smell the blood. It was thick in the air but she didn't stop as she got closer until she felt his touch to her shoulder. It was only then that she stopped and would push her nose against his paw gently, a way of telling him thank you without speaking. Ears twisting at his question and Ygritte would nod her head at him. I can help, I always have herbs with me. She would state, sitting down directly in front of him now that she knew where he was and would shrug off her pouch and begin to nose her way through it. But then it hit her and her head would shoot up. Actually, we need to clean your pads. There should be a river through the Jungle, can you walk? Of course he could but she was still concerned about his pads. @Ransom

Ransom felt the subtle press of her shoulder under his touch, encouraged, he let the paw linger longer than was necessary before pulling it back.
The ghoul watched with interest as she began searching in her satchel for something. Obsidian skull leaned forward to get a better look but he was caught by surprise when @Ygritte looked up suddenly. He jerked his head back, narrowly missing a collision with her own.
The river? Yes, I can walk. In his anger it hadn't occurred to him to wash out his paws. Ransom knew where the river was of course, the path to Ecrosia was through the jungle and it had become as familiar to him.
The lion stood up, better prepared this time for the stinging sensation in his feet. Though even so, Ransom winced.

She had no clue that she had almost head butted into @Ransom's own head as her concentration had been solely on finding a herb before she had a squirrel movement. However, that squirrel movement was gone as she focused on getting to the river with him. Shrugging her pouch back on her shoulders she would nod, That would be nice.. Thank you. She would answer, a bit shyly towards the male as she would move to brush against his side. Well leg. He was huge! She would've never known if she never touched him. But now she walked along side of him to the river. Dip your paws in there and clean everything off real good and let me know when they are clean. She would instruct. How did this happen?

Ransom guided the healer toward the river, allowing his legs to continuously brush against her side, nudging her this way and that, avoiding the larger obstacles. The short journey was done in almost silence between them, his dark ears twisted toward the sound of her breathing, listening to its steady rhythm.

He had entered the jungle with fury at his heels. But now, here, he was strangely calmed by @Ygritte's presence. The lioness was so unassuming, perhaps even fragile to his eyes. She had not hesitated in helping him today, even after he had scared her on their first meeting.

When they arrived at the river the ghoul did as he was told and ventured down to sit on the bank and bathe his paws. He would use another paw to scrape out the debris from the first, wincing in the process.

I walked all night, heavy footed and without care. He replied, finding truth came easier than lies. The male moved on to his next paw. I was forced to give up a fight and I was angry with the one who had demanded I forfeit it._{BG — IMAGE — CODE}

Sitting down near the water, Ygritte would listen to him as he cleaned his paws. He began to explain that he had been fighting and then forced to stop. Ears twisting as she listened to him patiently until he was done and then she would gently reach for his cub and hold it in her own tiny paws taking notice that compared to her paw, his was ginormous. But she wasn't scared about it at all and would begin to pull out the herb (Cape Aloe). Smelling it to make sure it was the right ones, and feeling the leaves with her free paw before beginning to gently wrap it around the first paw. I've never been in a fight... With being blind I wouldn't be much of a fighter so I stick to my herbs. She would admit to @Ransom.
