she slinks back into amaryllis under the cover of night, the moon high and making her even paler than usual; in the silvery light, her pelt nearly blends with her markings. the badlands aren't nearly as awful to travel through as they might've been in daylight, nor as they might've been in summer; winter still grips the island, and at night, it means that this area is traversible for the tepes woman. during summer? absolutely not, but tonight, at least, it's fine. a sneer curls her lips a little as she peers at the sludge-y remains of snow all around, paws stepping lightly through it. it's disgusting, but necessary if she wants to explore and learn more about the island.

he moves easily through the night, thankful for the way that winter has lessened its grip upon the lands. the dessert will be nigh unbearable in the peak of summer, making travel by night a necessity, but for now it is choice that guides his paws.

he is on his way back to the oasis when he comes upon her, a shining beacon in the star-flecked evening. drawn to her like the proverbial moth to flame he stops just short of the light-coated creature. markings like hers he has never seen before, and for a moment he is silent as he studies them, squinting slightly against the pressing shadow.

"rather late to be out alone, hmm?" who knew what kind of monsters could be lurking in the shadows.

@Alaric's approach, and his subsequent staring, elicits a subtle grin and the striking of a pose - muscle rippling, hypnotic markings swirling and moving with her. she's stunning, teal eyes glittering at him, sensual challenge in her gaze. his words, however, have her grin morphing into a wicked smile. i am quite comfortable in darkness, she tells him, eyes narrowing to examine him.

i am comfortable in darkness, for i am born of it. though why men seem to think a woman ought to be afraid of the night and what lurks in it, i will never understand. her teeth flash in a wolf's grin, sharp and gleaming and hungry. she is the most dangerous thing out here - no would-be attacker is going to frighten her. if anything, she's the one that'll be doing to frightening.

he is easily intrigued for he is a simple creature, drawn in by coy words and svelte figures. a wolfish grin rises to match her own, unperturbed by her predatory ways. "you may think yourself safe, but there are those that would seek to take what you are not offering." Or maybe she was, but that was a conversation for another moment.

He made another show of looking her up and down. "Though, I expect you'd put up a damn good fight." It was as close to a compliment as she'd get -- he was half tempted to test his assessment right then and there.

they can try, she murmurs, wolfish grin spreading wider. @Alaric's assessment of her is met with an even wider, creepier grin - eyes glittering ever-brighter with heightened excitement. i do enjoy a bit of blood every now and then. a soft, hair-raising laugh escapes her jaws, ending in a throaty chuckle that is more than a little suggestive. besides, she murmurs, padding closer to him, cheshire-cat smile never wavering, i'd never fuck a weakling, anyways. if he cannot subdue me, he does not deserve me.

with that, she aims to slide past his left side, flicking her tail at him on her way - another one of those throaty chuckles sliding into the air. it's been a long time since there's been anyone worthy. hips swaying, she continues walking away - half-hoping he will attack. she loves a good excuse to sink her teeth into someone, loves the feeling of flesh breaking and tearing beneath her ivory teeth, and oh, it's been so very long indeed since she's had a drop of that sweet red wine she's craving.

an uneasy shiver traces down his spine, but at his very core he is still male. the way she purrs shoves all thoughts of worry from his mind and he licks his lips, intrigued and drawn in by the basest nature. "good thing i'm not a weakling," he growls in return, a lip curling now to reveal yellowed canine teeth.

she moves to slide past him, left side pressed to left side, and he does not hold back. if it is blood she wants...

when her tail flicks along his side he unleashes, spinning in place and unsheathed his claws in one swift move. the male lifts his bulk from the ground, his weight shifting instinctively to his hide legs, as his forepaws aim to grasp on to those swaying hips with his claws flexed for purchase in her flesh. he wishes to use his weight to drag her down, to pin her beneath him and show her who is boss. they might be evenly matched in size but he hopes she will not be able to bear his weight on her hips, that she might crumble and he would have her.

he attacks - as she had wanted him to - and a low gasp is torn from her throat as claws press into her hips. immediately, as he seeks to place his weight on her, she drops her hindquarters to the ground and twists back towards him, seeking to slash at his unguarded face with pearl claws. teal eyes spark and glisten with macabre delight, morbid desire written in the smile still painted across shell-stained lips. rapacious jaws snap, reaching for any flesh they might find, retaliation for his attempt to simply brute-force this battle. she only looks delicate - beneath plush fur is a bodice of steel, ready and willing to crush the woman's victims.

as expected she sinks -- he might have laughed except he was no fool. he knew she would not go down so easily, so even as his bulk moves towards the earth (with her beneath him) she twists and is a fury of tooth and claw. now she has his attention, even as he jerks his head back she is fast and her claws make their mark.

his blood flows from light scratches across his face, dripping on to the pale coat as he snarls and flashes his teeth in response. her own are all but ignored (and if they find flesh he does not care) as he narrows his eyes and strikes. towards her flashing teeth, his aim her pretty little neck where he attempts to sink in his own canines and taste the prize he years for.

his paws, meanwhile, had fallen free of flesh (due to her movement) and thudded back to the ground -- they do not stay still for long. he moved forward with his above attack, pressing his bulk in to her space, uncaring if she made him bleed as long as she was his in the end.

he presses in against her, and she shoves back, gathering her hindquarters beneath her and pushing hard against the ground. he aims for her neck, and she seeks to twist her head to the side, snapping her jaws at his own - trying to catch his lower jaw in her mouth, thereby preventing him from gaining a grip on her throat. wicked white claws reach for his flesh again, large body grappling against him. they're of similar stature, and she hopes to keep him from pushing her over, meeting strength for strength. she will not go easy on him - her father had not raised her to submit at the first sign of blood. no, he had brought her up to feast on her opponents, and she has no intention of casting his lessons aside.

his teachings had kept her alive when the rest of their family died.

he rose to meet her, then. her front legs lifted to grapple and he did not shy from it, hefting his bulk to strike out with both paws, claws unsheathed. he attempts to wrap his arms to the outside of hers, seeking to sink his claws in to the tender flesh of both of her shoulders. his weight balance over his hindquarters, relying on brute strength to hold him true.

his teeth miss their mark and her jerks his head to the side, avoiding her own snapping retaliation but wasting little time in attempting to repeat his attack. this time, though, he does not aim for her neck but her face; attempting to sink his teeth in and leave a mark. a scar to remember him by, perhaps? though if he manages to knock her down he will try to leave her with much more than a measly scar...
