Summer
With the last of the rainfall seeming to have swept across the peninsula, summer days await! The days are warm, though comfortable, and peeter off into more mild evenings while the humidity remains low. It is the perfect inbetween until things transition towards more sweltering temperatures, so best enjoy it while it is here.

Basura
She was older than she'd been when she first came to these lands (okay, was first dumped in these lands) but that didn't mean she was any wiser. For example, she hadn't learned about staying out of the sun. So she was a little singed around the muzzle and paws as she wandered around the passage, looking at all the pretty fish that passed by. She'd tried to catch a couple that came close to the shore, hence why the fur that she did have was damp and she smelled briny instead of just... plain bad like usual. Yeah, bathing herself wasn't something she'd picked up on either.

Jewel approached, head down, ears towards the form as she moved across the sands. The ebon queen frowned when she realized the singing on the poor childs more sensetive areas. "Sweetling... where are you from?" Her tails flickered near her haunches as she approached, lifting her gaze to look around the area - trying to find sign of an adult or parent.
"Are you alone out here?" She frowned, her tone gentle as she moved to stand in the sun to use her shadow to block the harmful rays from the little yearling to prevent any more damage to their sensitive flesh. "Why don't we get you out of the heat? Food and water... get you some rest..mm?" The claim was subtle, she didn't want to scare the child..

Basura
Basura might not have understood a single thing that came out of the woman's mouth, but she could understand tone just fine. That and she understood vaguely what the word food was. It was something important to say the very least, since she wasn't the only one to mention it to her.
The very young woman made her way over to the darker woman who spoke to her so kindly, noticing with great interest that she had two tails. She made a quiet sound of awe as she peered around her at them, and then remembered that she'd been spoken to. "Food?" she repeated, hoping it really did mean something useful.
"Comida?" she asked in her native tongue, not that she'd found anyone that could speak that either. Finally, she pointed at herself with one paw and proudly exclaimed, "Basura!" Yes, that surely had to be her name, since her parents had said that when they looked at her.
@Jewel

There was a smile that touched Jewels lips as the yearling spoke, and she let her gaze roam the girls form. Jewel wasn't sure if it was a genetic anomaly or some sort of injury that caused her fur to grow in the pattern it was, but she knew that if @Basura stayed out here in the sun much longer, she would end up with worse burns. When the girl introduced herself, Jewel tilted her ears forward.
Repeating the gesture, she would lift her paw and gently tap the back of her wrist to her own breast. "Jewel." She wasn't sure if the young female had a working knowledge of the language - based on the unknown word that tumbled from her lips, but Jewel was willing to try. A nod was the other answer that the girl was likely waiting for. "Yes, Food."
She wasn't sure how to explain that it would be a bit of a walk - but once they got there, she knew that the youth would be well cared for. "Go?" A tilt of her skull towards the direction of the mire as she lifted a paw, waiting to see if the young lioness would seem interested in the idea or not.

Basura
"Jewel," Basura repeated, struggling briefly to shape her mouth and tongue around the new word. She was getting past the stage where it was easy for her to pick up a new language, but she was still trying. At least this time she'd been able to introduce herself, or thought she had.
The woman also repeated the word she'd said before, the one that had been said to her several times by others in this land. Oh, shoot, was that actually her name? Food? Well, maybe, but she knew her parents had always called her Basura. So she'd stick with that, even though she had no idea where they were now.
She pranced forward as Jewel gestured with her head, recognizing that at least as a sign that she was to follow. She could manage to understand some things, at least. Besides, the lady seemed nice! That and the whole two tailed thing was interesting.

The youth was adorable, and Jewel smiled at her, making sure that @Basura was following before she would check her footsteps - to keep the pace slow enough that the young feline could keep up, and not to stress her already injured paws any more than they were. While the mud of the Mire might not be the _best_ place, the soothing temperature would certainly help the young girl. "Basura..Nice to meet you." She would speak softly, her singular gaze focusing on the girl as well as the realm around them.
The lands of Amaryllis weren't as peaceful as they had once been - and she worried that someone would come with ill intentions towards the young feline. And as such - was careful to ensure that they weren't going to get snuck up on. To the best of her ability, that was.

Basura
She trailed along after the woman, occasionally reaching out with a paw to bat at one of the twin tails she had. It wasn't polite and she was definitely too old to do such a thing, but she had never been taught such things. Thankfully, when Jewel said her name again she stopped, for she at least knew what her name was, and padded along beside the woman as was more proper. Not that she realized that.
Hopefully Jewel didn't want a serious conversation because even without the language barrier Basura wasn't much of a talker to begin with. She did make the occasional odd noises as she chattered to herself, just keeping herself occupied though. They just... didn't mean anything.
