June Y13
Summer
With the last of the rainfall seeming to have swept across the peninsula, summer days await! The days are warm, though comfortable, and peeter off into more mild evenings while the humidity remains low. It is the perfect inbetween until things transition towards more sweltering temperatures, so best enjoy it while it is here.

hunger
10-12-2021, 08:02 PM
Young and still learning but hungry. Deimos didn't know what to do or where to start when it came to food and his tiny form was beginning to show signs of hunger. His belly growled and Deimos had no clue where Hanneth or anyone else went to, so there was no way he would have food ready for him. Such disappointment. Mother wouldn't be proud of him. At the thought of disappointing his mother, Deimos whimpered with a tear sliding down his cheek. There were times that he wished he hadn't left his family behind but had stayed where he was suppose to be. And now here, he was staring into the bottomless pit of water wondering how to catch a fish or even a frog.

She had been so rattled after the fights and then the loss of the Mire that she had lost track of Deimos. Worried that he may had died in the flood she felt a huge relief when she caught his scent once again. She followed it until she spotted him and chuffed softly. Deimos dear. I am so glad to see you. Are you hurt? She couldn't tell as she walked closer, he looked ok but his father had once been attacked by a gator and lived to tell the tale. The boy came from strong genes so hiring pain wouldn't be hard for him.

He thought he was alone and so the tears had flowed swiftly down his black cheeks but when Deimos heard a familiar voice and pink jewels spotted @Hanneth, the black cub would quickly wipe his face before turning to her. He dashed towards her and hugged her leg tightly. I didn't know where you went.. Or.. or.. He began to stuttered and his tears tried coming out again. I missed you.. He would whisper into Hanneth's leg. She was like a big sister, or an aunt. And either way she was family and that was something he treasured greatly.

Hanneth pulled the cub in closer to her as he clung to her leg, she bent over and gave him a number of kisses on the top of his head. I am sorry. The waters caught us all of guard. He seemed ok and that was good. It's ok now. Let's be sure to stick close to each other from now on, ok? She didn't want anything to happen to him. His parents were some of her dearest friends and Hanneth would raise this one as her own until they came to find him. She hoped they would, she missed both of them so much. Let's see if we can find some food before we go find the others. What do you think? If he wasn't hurt, it was likely that he needed to eat. She gave him a big hug before she looked around to see what might be in the area for them to hunt.

The hug felt nice and so did the kisses as Deimos enjoyed it all. Ears twisting and falling on top of his head. A soft child purr came from his throat as he would begin to listen to @Hanneth. It had been his first time being caught in such a threatening state, the water had been everywhere and though he now had a slight fear of the water he wasn't totally terrified of it. Just shaken up was all. But at her next words, Deimos would nod his head furiously. Yes please. He would stutter before the mention of food was brought up and instantly his stomach began to rumble in protest. He had been hungry for a few days now but Deimos didn't know how to hunt or fish or anything. Hungry..

Hanneth smiled as he nodded for food. That made it easy to decide that. Have something to do made her feel good and hopefully he wouldn't go hungry again after this. She gave him a kiss, Wait here and I'll be back with something soon. She didn't want him getting hurt if she came across some larger prey. She gave him a long look before turning to see what she could find. The bronze lioness didn't want to leave him to long so she was willing to take whatever she could get. A piglet was the first thing she saw. It was alone and Hanneth made it's death quick. She didn't linger, its last screams could call its mother in and she didn't want to deal with that. She returned to @Deimos with heavy sides as she set the piglet down for him. Here you go. She laid down near him and kept her attention focused around them so that no one could come and steal his meal.

He was told to wait and so Deimos would settle down and wait patiently as @Hanneth would go off somewhere. Where ever she had gone it wasn't long and he could smell the growing scent of something freshly killed. Ears pushed forwards as Deimos would perk up with attention and stood up from where he had been laying down at. The piglet was something he hadn't tasted but with his stomach grumbling Deimos didn't care. A squeal formed as Deimos began to dig in before grinning up at Hanneth with a bloody nose, Thank you! It's delicious.
