it was no secret that things on the southern coast had been eventful as of late -- nymeria had heard small tidbits of information here and there, but felt as though she needed to see and understand the situation for herself, in order to get up to speed with what had been transpiring beneath her own nose. in the same vein, the valour also owed this visit to @Magnus, for he had always been a loyal and steadfast ally to the brook, never once faltering in his devotion or allegiance. and just because he may have chosen to relocate his pride somewhere else did not mean that nymeria intended to throw what they had had before to the wind.

and so, it was with deliberate steps that the woman made her way southward, setting out in the early hours of the morning for the long, though familiar, journey towards the ocean. it was odd, truthfully, to head in the direction of the lagoon as opposed to the hollows -- but upon arriving on the edge of the border, there was no denying that he was here. dropping the small bundle of herbs that she had brought with her onto the sands, nymeria would finally let out a soft series of chuffs for the high sovereign, hoping that he was up for another visitor. it was only then that she would decide to take pause, settling patiently upon the perimeter of the territory as the sun began to warm her back, and the sound of crashing waves lulled softly in the distance.

A trusted ally would always be welcomed here.

Better yet, one with supplies, and the expertise with which to apply them. Elijah was sorely missed for many reasons - it's your own fault, it's your own fault, it's your own fault - but his skills as a healer were second to none. At least in Magnus' mind, anyway. He had been lucky for Starling and Faevyre, most certainly, but with wounds like this it was definitely a case of the more the merrier. The brute needed all the help he could get. The soft and patient chuffs would be heralded by low rasping calls of his own; I'm here. Then, as @Nymeria came into view, his steps would slow. Once positioned before her, the man would lower his haunches to the floor. "Welcome, Nymeria." A nod of respect followed. "I planned on seeking you out sooner; I hope you don't think me negligent."

He already knew the answer - or, at least, he thought he did.

unsurprisingly, nymeria was not left waiting long upon the borders of the lagoon -- for there, out across the expanse of the sands, came the familiar and domineering shape of @Magnus, who stood out strikingly against the backdrop of pale coasts and crashing waves. the druid's chest rumbled in a soft and content sound of greeting as the man settled before her in a calm and easy fashion, opting to mirror his movements as her haunches fell to the earth, and her ears tilted forward to carefully catch his incoming words. "oh, come now, magnus -- i would never even dream of it. you are many things, and negligent is not one of them." nymeria hummed lightly in response, feeling comfortable enough to jest with the long-standing ally and companion, even in the light of his new regime change. it was evident, after all, by the fresh scars that littered his frame and the heavy musk that surrounded the breadth of the lagoon -- all of which meant that today had been more vital than ever, and that the valour had made a good decision to come and visit the sigrun when she did. "i thought it was about time i checked in on you, for i feel that a lot has changed in the last little while. i also thought i could help patch you up some, if you'd like." she felt it only appropriate, of course, to offer her services when and where they were needed. and while it was perfectly reasonable to assume that the lagoon had a healer of their own amongst the ranks that could tend to their king, nymeria was nothing if not a dutiful healer. if nothing else, she supposed the local medic would have additional supplies moving forward -- because, by the rate things were moving, maua knew it would not be long until they were needed once more.

As expected, Nymeria was more than amenable. Understanding; a calm tone and soft, open expression. It was enough to put even the Sigrún - still partially immersed in a fight or flight response in the wake of his brawl with Amara - at ease. And so he would relax a little more, regarding her with a half-smile and nodding at her response. Even after all this time she still seemed to think highly of him. Reassuring. "You are too kind." He stepped back half a stride, gesturing for Nymeria to step over the threshold and join him in his territory should she wish to. Surely a part of her wanted a tour; if it were him, and the shoe was on the other foot, he knew he'd be curious. "There has been a great deal of change. Some positive, I suppose," he gestured to his new surroundings with a cock of the head, "but.... Well." He curled a lip in vague amusement, shrugging his shoulders. Making enemies came with the territory; quite literally, in this case. "I would be much obliged for your assistance." He needed all the help he could get, truthfully. "We currently have no medics in the Lagoon." An admission that he would only dare make to an ally and a friend, and certainly not something he said to get sympathy. It was a fact; nothing more, nothing less. "How does Vermeda fare? It seems you've managed to keep yourself out of trouble, for the most part."

she moved in unison with @Magnus as they are swept beyond the scillan borders -- a land which, though familiar from her childhood, seemed so extraordinarily different now. it held different meaning and different weight than the lagoon she had once known and loved. she loved it still, she supposed, but it was in a more nostalgic manner than anything else. nonetheless, the woman's ears swiveled to catch the king's words as they tumbled across the air between them, cupping the bundle of herbs close to her chest as they continued along the shoreline. "well then, i'm glad i came." she mused softly, gesturing for them to take refuge beneath the shade of a nearby palm. it would take her a moment or two to properly analyze his wounds and what would need the most immediate attention, and she did not see why they couldn't continue their conversation while she worked. "what's bothering you the most?" she would inquire before sweeping a glance across his figure, taking note of what she could see, before her attention settled upon his final, and perhaps heaviest, question.

magnus may not have realized the weight that his inquiry held when he had asked it, but it sat upon nymeria's chest for a moment or two before she was able to gather a response. she could very easily spill forth more pleasantries and easy tales of prosperity, which were not untrue, but it would feel wrong to keep their troubles guarded behind a veil, especially after everything that they had been through. "vermeda is well, but it has been -- difficult." her voice caught slightly as she spoke now, albeit the fact that she was not afraid to let her walls down in the company of the sigrun king. he had been there, after all, and bore witness the the tragedy in the same way that she had -- it was the mere memory that the valour found to be the most jarring, prompting a small shake of her head, before continuing. "losing valhalla, and nearly losing my cousin, in the firnen war has been devastating." another honest admission, her eyes sweeping up towards dark features in an attempt to gage his complexion, or perhaps level with him in a more personal manner. they come from different worlds, that much was clear, but tragedy was tragedy, no matter where someone was from. "we will survive, as we always do, but i'm sure you know that life is rarely kind these days." nymeria offered finally with a weak and wry smile, before her eyes fell once more to the herbs at her feet, and continued to mash up a small salve beneath her heel.
