The tension that fills the gap between them suffocates her, the queen keeping her defiant head gesture as he now steps forward with his own rumble of warning. Everything that happens next stuns her. From the growl, the intrusion of her space, and the hurtful spat that he had nothing to apologize about. Brow furrows her black lips pulling back to revealed aged fangs as she bares them in warning. “You fool,” she snarls and as much as she tries to hold back the pain in her tone, her voice cracks under the effort as she rapidly rises to her feet and throws herself at him attempting to tackle his larger form head on. Despite her weariness in getting used to her partial blindness, the rage is too overpowering and prevents her from attempting to approach this brawl with a strategic method. With her first move, she avoids using claws or teeth on him and rather she just wishes to try and somehow pin him beneath her to remind him of where they truly stood on the totem pole of her world.

Delicate. Dangerous. Each heartbeat between his words and her reaction was agonizing. She was stunned. Taken aback by his boldness, by his disobedience. He stood by his words, however, he had nothing to apologize for. Not in this argument. Black lips drew back to reveal aged and worn teeth as she bares them in warning to him. Snarling that he is a fool, but it is the pain that caught his attention, an ear swiveling forward. The crack in her voice was enough to tell him he had wounded her already, in a way few ever did.

She rose to her feet, the movement fluid and rushed, throwing herself at him in the form of a tackle. He stumbled back against the force of her weight, jaws parting as he reached, attempting to grab her by the scruff. Though he had no inhibitions about using his teeth, he did so with just enough pressure to grasp and hold, to bruise but not penetrate flesh. He kept a tight chain on his emotions, he could not lose control- not with her.

He was beneath her in rank, but he would not cow to her every whim, he would not be made to feel bad about asking for permission. If she had not wanted him to do it, she should have denied him. She should have kept him for herself. Instead, she behaved as a child. Thus, he would treat her as such.

Her weight presses into him, Icefang feeling the hardened muscle beneath his plush coat. His teeth find their way to her scruff, but she does not feel pain. Not yet - only pressure as he fights her fury to keep her from toppling him to be beneath her. Though where Lathan considers being gentler with her and avoid spilling blood, his continued disobedience only irks her and so at the realization that he is preventing her from having her way, Icefang decides enough is enough. Crown lurches forward as jaws part in an attempt to sink fangs into his right shoulder, one front limb also rising in an attempt to snake itself around his right front leg to try and prevent him from pulling away.

He was gentle, lacking the ferocity of truly hurting her. Until she dug her teeth into his shoulder, a hiss of pain being sucked in around the mouthful of scruff that he had obtained. Blood flowed freely around her canines as she bit into the hardened muscle. Her claws reached, trying to hook his shoulder as well. He let her. A low rumble vibrated in his throat, over her skull.

Jaws tightened further in an attempt to puncture her scruff with his teeth. She wanted blood? Fine. He would indulge as well. The noble was careful, careful to only go as far as she did in the fight. She wanted to draw blood and do superficial damage? He would to. Lathan attempted to shove his weight forward and down, hoping to bow her body at the likely expense of tearing into his shoulder. The implication was clear. Bow. Give in. You do not own me.

Chest tightened, heart fluttered, stomach churned. He was crossing a line, he was crossing her. His anger swallowed those feelings, swallowed and burned and devoured the idea of giving in and letting her win. It allowed him to do neither. He was not soft, he was only a gentleman on the outside. On the inside, he was just as dark and poisonous as she was. He was just better at hiding it.

The blood flows past her lips and press into her tastebuds. She indulges in the sweet iron taste of Lathan, feeling her paw pad brush against his fur. Though her touch is everything except a caress of a love. It is pain and fury. The breaking of flesh changes him from tolerant to pissed. She feels the tightening of his jaws as blood spills from her nape now, darkening the ivory fur. There is pressure attempting to force her down beneath him and she lets him. Moving her weight back and lessening her grip on his shoulder as she allows him to push her down onto her back so that he stands over him. If only to let him think he is winning. That her emotions are getting the best of her the way it had with Harou in the Oasis. The only time he has seen her lose. She stops, blue eye staring up at him as his blood stains her lips.

Then, she would attempt to propel her hind legs in succession in an attempt to tear at the delicate skin of his underbelly.

She savored the iron taste of his blood, and he did the same as teeth punctured her nape. The thick red liquid causing a shudder of pleasure to roll down his spine as they continued their combative dance. He felt her fury, her pain (perhaps he was imagining that), and he poured his own into his actions.

Her body caved easily, willingly beneath his weight and for a moment, the assassin tensed with confusion. He willingly released his hold as her body shifted, rolling so her back pressed into the ground. Lathan would attempt to bring his teeth, already so close to her body, to her throat. His intent was to hold firmly, not puncture and cause damage. Not with his teeth.

She propelled her hind legs into his belly, claws out, he felt his belly sting with the pain of being sliced open, felt his blood warm the fur and no doubt stain her own belly as it dripped down. He growled. "Enough." A hiss, a demand, and then he would promptly attempt to lay his weight heavily down on her. His limbs trembled, but if she could see his gaze, she would see the rage, the hurt, the pain. He had been loyal, had served her in any and all whims she had demanded of him. It was her turn to yield.

It was an ugly thing. Laced with jealousy, betrayal, and unspoken feelings. She can feel the wetness of his blood drip onto her belly when she strikes him with her claws and when @Lathan's jaws find a grip around her throat, only then does the queen yield for the briefest moment allowing him to fall on top of her. To vanquish their brawl as she adjusts her legs to fit snugly around his waist. Her chest heaves from exertion as she lies there quietly. She knows she has won and while she cannot see his face, she is certain that he knows it as well. He was never meant for the battlefield. He would excel in the shadows where she could not and vice versa. “"Happy?"” She snaps, her blue eye staring into the canopy of the brook's trees. She sure as hell wasn't going to beg for him to get off of her.

Ugly and vicious. Unable to speak about the feelings they had, they lashed out. In a cruel twist of fate, despite his dominating stance over her, with his teeth pressured gently against her throat, he was still the loser today and he knew it. That pressure caused her to yield her kicks, but his belly was already torn open, it was his blood that stained most of her pelt, not her own. The realization caused his jaws to momentarily tighten ever so slightly before they loosened. She could move, if she chose. Or they could remain their, breathing heavily and hating each other.

His eyes closed, blinking back the tears of white hot rage that threatened to spill over. Ragged breaths inhaled as he reined that temper in, his ears twitched- no doubt brushing against her jaw as she snapped ‘happy’ to him. He growled softly, lifting his skull as his molten, silver gaze searched for her one blue eye. "No." The word laced with hurt, with anger, and buried within another growl, baring his teeth as he said it.

Oh how he wanted to remain there, to feel something besides hate and desire for her. The heaviness of those emotions pressing in on his lungs, on his throat, making it difficult for him to breathe. When he was able, it was her scent that he smelled, and that choked him further. Shifting his weight, he stood, one paw on either side of her, but the stance lasted only a second before he turned and moved towards the den of poisons. Pausing to grab the pouch he had dropped, the one with the mushrooms meant just for her. He thought about it, thought of kicking it towards her and telling her to eat one to help with her wounds, but his jaw only tightened on the rabbit fur, feeling his canines puncture through it as he disappeared into the den. She could follow or she could leave. In the moment, he no longer cared. (Even though that was a lie, he didn't want to acknowledge it.)

He slumps into her, the pressure tightening against her throat before releasing and flooding her airway with oxygen. Icefang coughs softly as @Lathan reveals his displeasure about the situation. He glances down at her before rapidly walking away and picking up his dropped mushrooms to head back into his den. Icefang rolls over onto her belly staring at the entrance for a moment as her own rage simmers. She is far too bothered to chase after him, once again feeling entitled to his attention only. Rather than be the adult and attempt to talk it out with him, she gets back onto her own feet and stalks off in the other direction deciding that once again putting space between them was her best bet.
