Dominic's large form moved with the group as they worked to take down their quarry. Muscles rippled with purpose, his speed faster than one might guess he was capable of, given his size. With some effort, their target was taken down and the lions swarmed it, beginning to go for the kill. He joins in, his adrenaline pumping.

It draws it's last breath and Dominic is happy it's over. He begins eating without hesitation, for some reason, more hungry than usual this time. With a face covered in his meal, he steps back to begin grooming and cleaning himself. He feels satisfied, full - so now it was time to wander back to where ever he planned to sleep for the night.

Of course, not before he would move to walk along the shore again, gathering a few more samples of that seaweed. Some sparse vegetation along the rocky outcrop of the beach catches his attention next, and Dominic takes a moment to study it before gathering some of it as well. He would have to ask someone what these were.

Hmm, yes, she does enjoy the taste of hippo meat. A second sampling is enough to make her opinion official, is it not? It's quite the precious gift, indeed.

For a moment, she considers pursuing Dominic's spiraled form, to learn if they were truly connected as she suspected they were. To learn his name. To ask him what he thought the difference was between the land and the sea, as she gazed out across the open expanse of the sea.

The wind pulls her elsewhere, and as always, she follows its tug upon her soul.

The expectation was vastly exaggerated from reality, as it always was.

Nevermind that this wariness had kept him safe, kept him alive. Bela threw caution to the wind and dived right in and the dark creature had no other option than to follow him. Even if it meant that he would need to protect the golden idiot from the danger he'd willingly walked into. And yet, the convergence of lions did not turn on the youngsters, the hippo was instead felled. With blood on his own tongue, blackest of gazes sought out his sponsor and found him also bloodied and happy. It was a strange phenomenon and one that the tiger was not quite sure how to process.

At the boys cajoling words, Fen huffed a somewhat disgruntled sigh. Never would he admit that Bela was right, that on the one particular occasion it had worked out okay and nobody had been ripped apart. So as the other began to gather his spoils, Fen let down his guard long enough to grab a hunk of meat for himself, wary black eyes darting to and fro. He had no desire to stick around longer than necessary and as Bela offered a friendly greeting to another, Fen slipped up the dark beach towards the very caves he had scouted on his entry. Using the rock formation as his guide post, he retreated to the darkness and cover the caves provided to eat his meal in peace and perhaps contemplate what Bela had been trying to show him - they're not all bad.

This hunt was a more dangerous one than many of her other endeavors. Hippos could and frequently did take a hunter down with them.

They had plenty of attackers, but that did not guarantee no one would be trampled or bitten as the creature tiered too much to keep running and rounded to try and stomp and bite.

Dodging an attempted chomp by inches, ears ringing from a loud bellow Chimra mentally gave a prayer of thanks to Duan for escaping that counterattack, her small frame not sporting a couple new holes due to his blessing surely.

The small lioness managed one more good hit before the combined weight and attacks from the hunters brought it down.

Politely she waited a short time for a few of the others to grab a portion taking note of a few youths, yearlings or slightly younger than herself - who had hunted with the party. A reason to thank Duan even more than injuries had not occurred.

Grabbing her portion in turn Chimra moved a little distance away to settle into sparse grass where shore blended into land - and began to eat.
