Colsun could suffer many things but grumpy party crashers were not one of them; he hardly felt it fair to put their misery onto the shoulders of Matti and Dio and make them pay for it. There were children afoot and Colsun had just about enough of it when the pale king called for his allies. Ah, well, two could play that.

Colsun released a bellowing summon for additional help, his voice resounding across the sands. They would certainly need some backup.

Something is going down. That’s interesting - and it might be a chance to figure out more political shit (boring) to do with his alleged family. He doesn’t trust any of the adults, not fully, so he’ll work out what’s going on by himself. The call from the Mire isn’t for him, but he knows that a Rike (one of them, doesn’t matter which) rules there now - and he’s heading to the Lagoon?

Alright. Bet.

He stays low, stays at the back of the marching group - trying to remain unobtrusive and out of the way. He’s just some guy. No need to look twice. But he follows them, head low, stopping to wash his scent clean of anything but the Lagoon as he slips in. He watches from a distance as the party crashes - an actual party.

Of course mom expected him to go with her. Who was this guy who was calling for them anyway? He didn't get it. It was only once they actually got there that he realized it was the dude who had won the Mire. Okay, now that made a little bit more sense. Did he even have the authority to tell the Vermedans to come?

He turned to ask his mother that, aaaaand she was gone. Vanished like a puff of scarlet and white smoke. Wha? he said intelligently, looking around like he thought he'd lost his mind and had actually walked over alone. Okay, now he understood why she kept smacking him upside the head whenever he tried to hide from her and failed.

He sidled up next to @Velasco since he was the only other member of the pride currently present, not sure if he should be starting shit without Icefang's go ahead. But if he didn't start shit and she came in and saw him doing nothing, that would probably piss her off too. He'd just say mother had told him so. And he saw a lovely target too.

There was a cub within the chaos, nestled next to a rock, and so he let out a call for the child. Mother had said that Icefang was always looking for more cubs, and she seemed young enough to be moldable, right? Yes, this was surely a good idea.

It was not something Morrigan would have missed for any injury. She'd have begged to be carried down the mountaintop before missing out on @Diomedeidae and @Matthieu's wedding. Pushing slightly ahead of whomever had accompanied her to such a party, something twisted in Morrigan's gut as the wrong scents began to appear. Her head had just lifted to look deeper into the Lagoon when she heard his voice call for his hounds. All sense of joy turned to ash as a raging inferno rose within.

"That evil son of a bitch," she snarled before pushing herself forward as fast as her injured bodied could carry. And as the sparse trees split and she pulled herself from the salt water, dripping with it and rage she looked upon the ruined scene. Fury and vengeance burned in her remaining eye at the utter disgrace that he would seek to sully something sacred and holy. And so Morrigan unleashed a roar that she never had before.

A war cry calling not for her allies drawn by politics and lines on a map, but for those paid for in blood, in sacrifice, and in love. All of them. Both the living and the dead.

As her roar for the living faded she closed her eyes and breathed deeply, sending out those dark tendrils she'd felt in the embrace of death, reaching toward that place beyond. She knew well enough there was little her physical body could do. Better she torment Luther and Miaran with what they seemed to hate the most. She called for them all, opened the passage for them all, even those who held no loyalty to herself, those who perhaps would just enjoy terrorizing those who refused to believe.

Yes, they had broken her bodied, but they had seemed to forget, Morrigan was the goddess of war and death.

She came as she was called, her feelings on the matter, irrelevant. As it were, this was an impersonal matter for her. The long history of the feuds between her king and his enemies was unimportant. The simple truth was that she had stayed at his side, and for it, she inherited his foes. But that was the truth about power, wasn't it? Everyone longed to have it, yet so few truly knew how to wield it.

Life was war and she would not shy away from it. Sooner or later it would reach her as it had now. The only difference was she would not longer be blindsided by it.

That knowledge alone was enough for her to follow behind him in silence, waiting among her pridemates and allies for the inevitable fight to come.

If she didn't know any better she'd swear a ghost was attacking her. The girl reels as claws sink straight into her pretty little face, releasing a hot trickle of blood to follow. Damn it! Piss off you old hag!

In retort, she whirrs to the side, her lower body swerving away from Heloise's own. Thrashing to and fro with her upper half, she attempts to dislodge the woman from her body, and to try and make her lose her balance, or, at the very least, to attempt to render her dizzy. ( Something Valentine unfortunately also does to herself, if only slightly )

A growl rises from deep beneath her, and she bellows deep into the Lagoon. Hot with anger, and primed with angst – she unleashes it all upon the happy party, and those whom defend it.

He had intended to stay hidden, to stay out of sight and just watch. This isn’t his fight. He isn’t interested in getting his ass kicked again, but then she turns up. Dark and creepy, Morrigan arrives quietly. Walks right past him, as if he isn’t there - and to be fair he is trying to hide, so. But it’s her - the one Rainer sent him after, the one that stood between him and proving himself. A pound of flesh. Revenge. She’s here and this time she’s alone - there’s no one to get between him and what he needs to do.

It isn’t a conscious decision, really. Peregrine’s silver eyes land on the warrior queen, a chill running through him as that haunting call goes up. It leaves him uneasy, but even as his heart skips a beat and begins to race, he has to do this...

Or he’ll pay with his own life.

Penn launches forward, crossing the damp sand quickly and quietly, not wanting to warn her of his side-long approach. He attempts to slam into her ribcage, behind her thick, scarred shoulder, and knock her down.

For too long the Hollows have been dormant. Building power, building numbers - the Savante had made a fortress of both family and loyalty and it was something that Alexander was incredibly proud to display.

It seemed like it had been years since a war had broken out relevant to the Savante. Peace had settled over his family; the one thing he'd always wanted for them. The King, however, had made promises - and not ones he would easily break. Isla and his relationship may not have succeeded, but he had vowed to support her in any way he could.

And here he was, doing just that. The call for help had been heard loud and clear, and on his way, Alexander had made sure to call for everyone in the Hollows and any allies that wished to help as well. Upon his arrival, the chaos was already ensuing. Something in particular stood out to him, however.

Someone calling for the theft of a child. A snarl erupts from him, but not before he moves to try and attempt to slam the entirety of his weight against Temero to hopefully push him away from the child. Jaws would snap, teeth attempting to bite onto the boy's scruff to try and roughly drag him away.

He'd just been minding his damn business, enjoying the afterlife, and then it was like something grabbed him by the scruff and wrenched backwards, hauling him forcibly into the land of the living. Couldn't a dead man rest in peace? Apparently not.

Uhh... uh huh, he said as he materialized, looking around with interest at the scene unfolding before him. Where the hell even was he? Oh, the Lagoon. Wow, it had been a while since he'd been here. It was the first pride he'd joined upon coming to the lands, though unfortunately he hadn't been able to stay long. Mercurial pride holdings, you know?

Excuse you, he commented as someone went barrelling through him. Kids, no manners these days. Didn't they know to respect their dead elders? Come on now.

Luther's summons that night was different, yet eerily familiar. She jolted from the mouth of her and Ahyarë's patchwork den, eyes wild and scrutinizing as she tried to make sense of it. Whipping her gaze toward her companion's blonde frame, she could not help but remember their caged-bird youth beneath a certain other devil's tyranny. She had fought for him, before. She would do it again that night, only Luther remained oblivious to the unbreakable bind he had placed around her neck.

"Do we have to?" She groaned through a kitten's stretch, already moving to her feet. Anniston knew the answer – she just did not like it.

Their journey was swift, as it seemed a neighboring pride was the one to earn Luther's ire. Anniston flicked her tail testily across her ankles as they traversed the sands, eyes narrowed to make out what details she could through the moonlight. Murmurs of a wedding had her contemplating how long those had been practiced for that family, and how many of them she had not been invited to without even realizing what she was missing. It sat as nearly as heavy a weight in her gut as the shrieks of war whipping about the ocean breeze. Though it tickled something in the back of her mind, it was not a scent she was familiar with: caked salt, rotting fish, and something nutty yet almost floral. There was something else ––

Oh, blood. Always, there was blood.
