With a steady breath she waited until the beast had wandered directly across the borders and began to make an obscure signal to the pride. A cache or two could certainly use a refresher and while she had her own personal gripes, she was happy to assist where she could so long as Taraji was happy here. Slinking within the trees and keeping to most of their shadows, Carina bided her time until she was certain the prey would see her or she could sense someone near by, she sprang into action and launched herself at the beast. Pushing her body towards it with ease and keeping up with it at a good pace.

The Dieudonné behemoth had been busy familiarizing himself with the boundaries of the territory when the ruckus of noisy rustling and deep bellows reached him. Étienne turned his dark paws around to hurry toward the source, which he soon discovered was a rhinoceros that had come under attack — a lioness, who looked as though she had been plucked from the dusky sky, was pursuing it. She was certainly ambitious, but he knew she could not bring the beast down without help. He quickened his pace to join her, taking position along the creature’s open flank to swipe at its hide with his unusually long claws and begin the long process of bleeding it out. It would be a battle of perseverance, not raw power.

There was no call that caught his attention this time, no apparent ring of the dinner bell other than the distant crash of flora and the groan of something large. Gauthier shifted his prior chosen path and tore through the brush, uttering a beckon for those who were willing to join the hunt. They had acquired new members to their pride of late, and it was certain they would need to pull their weight if they desired to eat well.

Otherwise, scraps would be in order.

Though he is pleased to see the loyal @Carina and the new recruit @Étienne, he spends no time in thanking them for their efforts when the young but formidable rhino calf is ensuring its end would not be so painless. It throttled through the green, hefting its armored weight and dull prong of a horn against the bulk of his attackers, a bruising force. The sovereign does his best to avoid its plodding feet as he swoops in to attempt a well placed slash across its swinging neck.

The sounds of a hunt draw her in, Amorette increasing her pace to catch up to her pride mates that are pursuing the rhino. This was a different affair from band life, where she was use to scavenging or hunting for smaller prey solo. This beast would be a feast to shamelessly indulge in. All they had to do was bring it down. She hones in on the thick hide, dodging trees and other debris as her claws attempt to swipe at one of the legs. She wouldn't dare attempt to jump onto its flank just yet. She had wait for the animal to tire a bit even if she had to force herself to choke down her impatience.

It was his first time ever hunting, and to say he was nervous was an understatement. Of course, Njörðr had always observed from the sidelines as the adults hunted. The only issue was that it hardly compared to now being on the playing field. Slowly, the boy crept forward, and stared at his pride-mates. They were a sea of unfamiliar faces, yet he felt comfortable within it. Silently, the boy made a note to get to know his neighbors better in the near future.

"Hello," his voice was hushed, for he did not wish to alert the behemoth before them. It was truly a thing of beauty; the creature was primed for the fight and lined with muscles to match. Njörðr couldn’t help but to stare, even if it was momentarily. Excitement raced through him as his claws unsheathed, and drool began to form in his jaws. He was ready for his first hunt - for his first contribution to Firnen.

His claws snagged on the soft folds of flesh, their curling talons slicing clean before a glistening black trickle emerged from the crease. The smell of ichor perfumed the air, drowning his senses to the muck of rhinoceros hide and grime; enthused, incensed by the lull of its singing veins. Gauthier’s heart thrummed in the chorus of surging adrenaline, its thunder palpable and frenzied, as the beast faltered only for a moment then sharply turned its path toward the lions. A cry leapt from its blunt mouth as it swung its small horn, a passing assault that merely clipped the Sovereign’s shoulder in a bruising force.

He pivoted, a side hop bringing him out of the way from further damage and lunged to drag his claws across the creature’s rolling eye.

He follows his son's trail, curious to see what he was getting himself into. The Viking doesn't try to hide the sounds of his paw steps, colossal form moving forward with powerful steps. His eyes are trained to look ahead of him, soon catching a glimpse of @Njörðr before seeing several other pride members gathered. It doesn't take Arkyn long to realize this was a hunt he had stumbled upon, and not long after does he see the rhinoceros that they are going for. "Watch out for the horn," he warns his son before pushing off powerful hind legs, lunging toward their prey. He aims to keep it from escaping, blocking off any possible routes it may find while jaws snap at the rhinoceros' thick limbs.

The sounds of commotion is what draws the healer toward the hunt. She wasn't too far and decided that she should lend a paw in keeping the food cache full. Jogging toward where the sounds were coming from, Jiera soon comes across several pride lions as well as the rhinoceros, coming to a halt then to watch silently. She watches for a few moments, trying to see where she is needed, before she runs forward. She watches Arkyn as he tries to keep escape routes from appearing for the rhinoceros to take and she decides to help with that, as well, keeping an eye that she doesn't run into anything or any lion.

Scarlett can hear the sounds of an ongoing hunt, and her stomach growls with hunger. Perfect timing. With a smirk she quickly approaches, moving carefully so she doesn't cause any potential mistakes. Thankfully a few of her pridemates are blocking the rhinoceros from escaping, so that was something she didn't have to worry about.

She lunged forward with unsheathed claws, landing attacks whenever she was able to. It was hard to apply deep wounds into the animal's thick flesh, but it was some good practice. She dodged the rhino's sharp and massive horn, a snarl leaving her throat.

The rhinoceros that she had found was certainly turning out to be a lot more than she had anticipated. The more she ran alongside its flank and tried to make a hit, she knew that it was going to take a lot of Firnen's and a lot of patience and strength to get this beast to falter and fail. While she raced to keep pace with the prey and her pridemates, she also kept a wary eye when she could on if anyone was injured from the creature. While they were magnificent hunters, sometimes the Rhino could be unpredictable with its movements so she would not let someone take a hit without Carina being there to help. Nothing yet, but there were in the home stretch where the beast might get desperate.
