Prompt: The pleasantly warm temperatures have brought two Rhinos into the Cove to enjoy a beach day splashing in the waves.

The scent of a rhinoceros was unmistakable among the salty tang of the air near the shore. Marja, the best barony and the worst hunter, was on the investigative case! Now, where most lionesses or lions would use common sense to address such an animal- Marja had none of those things and when she spied it, she stormed out of the brush along the sands, and storming right up to where the pair of animals were splashing in the shallow water.

"TRESSPASSERS!" She roared, her sound defiant as she bushed her fur up to try to look bigger. "GET OUT GET OUT" Another yell, because why not. Surely, if they charged her she could zig zag, right?

“Oh wow!” comes the excited exclamation of the strawberry woman, coming to see what all the fuss was about as a roar rolled across the sands. She comes across the scene of @Marja snarling directions at a pair of frolicking Rhinoceros. Tilly’s mood is far different, her mismatched eyes full of interest and hunger. If they could take down a pair of adult Rhinoceros… their stores would be well-filled for this month, and that’d be terrific!

“Shh, don’t scare them-!” she tries immediately to reassure the dark-pelted woman, “We can hunt them - Think of how much meat we’ll have!” her eyes glitter with curious greed. They would just need… a few more paws. Tilly sets out an urgent, bolstering chuff for the pride - they would need all paws on deck if they were to take down these beasts…

5 years, no bonus It was the shouting about trespassers that caught her attention first, drawing her from where she had been lounging in the shade and enjoying the cool breeze that blew off the ocean. It was this exact season that she had been waiting for, the first good opportunity to really enjoy her beach home. Thankfully, the worst of the heat was yet to hit them, so it was not too disappointing to abandon her spot to find the two rhinos, and the gathering hunting party. Her attention shifted between the other two lionesses briefly, hoping the darker woman didn’t make another outburst, before settling into a crouch, prepared to follow the lead hunter once they had enough of the pride together.

Emmeline had found herself rather comfortable within the Cove. It was mostly quiet and she was unaware of what was going on behind the scenes. She honestly didn’t really care all that much, since things seemed so peaceful within her home. She had been basking underneath the sun when she couldn’t help but hear some shouting. Her fiery gaze narrowed and she would sigh, getting up from the sand.

She would make her way over, staying quiet and to herself. Three lionesses had gathered and finally, she saw what exactly was happening. Two rhinos were splashing in the ocean waves. She gritted her teeth and unsheathed her claws, wondering how this was going to go.

The lioness was roused from her slumber by a shout, and slunk along the sands to try to find out what was causing it. Galaxia froze when she saw what it was and swallowed, crouching and slinking up beside the gathered felines in silence. It was becoming increasingly clear to the young woman that her parents weren't coming as they'd promised - and she would need to learn to handle things here.

So - she would wait for the orders of another to lead the charge - to hopefully put a paw forward and try to assist the pride wherever it was that she could... and maybe - just maybe.. start finding her own path.""

There was plenty on her mind lately and Sunder was always eager to welcome any form of distraction. On this particular day it came in the form of @Marja's yelling, trespassers. Sunder had been near the borders when she first heard the call and immediately made her way towards the inner portion of the territory. Her legs pumped like a well-oiled machine, fine tuning her speed as she maneuvered across the sand. Only as she got closer did she see the group of pride lionesses gathered, and a pair of rhinos that were the cause of all of the commotion. It was a relief to Sunder that no one had necessarily invaded, and then there came the challenge of bringing them both down. Naturally she would look towards @Tilly, a grin forming on her lips as she speaks quietly, "What's the plan?" She would say to the strawberry woman, waiting for her direction.

Tilly studies the pair of rhinoceros, taking in their dangerous curved horns and the thick muscle of their bodies. That was not to mention their hides and temperaments either. Her lips pull into a considering pout as she evaluates the best approach.

It is not long til more of the pride has gathered, and Tilly realises their eyes are on her to lead them. After all, it was her duty as lead hunter. Still, she had not been first there and the immensity of the two beasts had made her nervous.

“Let’s try to corner them on the cliffs.” she muses to Sunder upon the queen’s prompting. It was not enough to go off, and there are too few of them. Tilly finds herself winded and frustrated, the two powerful shapes fleeing along the sands to the safety past her borders. “Damnit!” she huffs, panting as she slowed to a halt. When she turned back to the group an ashamed flush rose to her strawberry cheeks and she sighed. “Sorry, everybody.” Tilly would take her leave quickly after, hotly embarrassed. Some lead hunter she was supposed to be, messing up like that!

The failure of the hunt weighed heavily on the twin-tailed dark lioness.. and Galaxia cowered slightly as the lead huntress stalked away. She was unaware that it was irritation at herself and not the inability to manage of the young female. Shifting slowly, the dark lioness shuffled away, intending to slink back to her den. She would need to do better - to BE better.. but how?

Her Momma had been a top tier huntress in her own right - and Galaxia was frustrated that she wasn't able to help. She had helped often enough - but had she really contributed or had it been her parents doing the work and she riding their coattails?
