Waiting for the instructions from Raizel, Cassandra would sit and stare at their quarry. Once the orders were given to go forward with the hunt, she would do her part to aid in taking down their target. She would gain a scratch on her left shoulder from the rhinos horn, but it was a shallow scratch. It would heal quickly and likely not leave a scar behind. As they took down their prey, Cassandra would glance around at the rest of the group gathered.

Giving everyone a nod, Cassandra would help to take chunks of meat to the caches for the pride. Before she left to continue on with her duties within the Brook, she would make it a point to brush up alongside @Analía, @Eisa and @Lukas before heading off to find someone to tend to her shoulder scratch. It didn't hurt much, but she would definitely wanna get it treated just so that it didn't get infected.

As the group grew and gathered, she kneaded her paws into the earth impatiently- and when it was time, for them to all move. She launched herself into the hunt, losing herself into the feeling of it- the feeling of her body pulling and pushing against the earth- as she launched into the beast- leaping from the earth. Oh, she loved hunting. As a group, the pride brought the beast down- and she wondered if it was their strength or a weakness to the beast that allowed for this to be... so easy. Perhaps they had been blessed by Vellen or Maua, with the easy hunt.

Either way, she was grateful.

Each and every lion and lioness who came to her called hunt was given a dip of the head and a smile. Raizel was always so glad when her calls were answered and help was received. And she was very glad that the creamy white lioness who first called the hunt was answered as well. With two rhinos, it would help fill many bellies. Instructions were given and the hunting party split, each for a rhino. Once the one she was after was taken down, Raizel looked around and saw the other being taken down as well. Smiling, she let out a roar of success! Cassandra got a scratch from the rhino's horn and was thankful that it wasn't any worse than it could have been. Hunting these beasts could be dangerous. Once everyone took their fills, the pink lioness took the job of portioning out the remaining meat to cache it. The last of the meat remained and she grabbed it to walk the borders and cache it at the edge. Dipping her head to those who remained to take their shares with them, the Lead Hunter made her way to patrol and do her duties as the Lead Hunter. To provide safety of the food hunted for the pride. Digging a spot at the edge of the territory, she dropped in the piece of meat and buried it. Covering the hole with a rock before resuming her patrols, checking older caches as she walked the pride's borders.

Aurelia

still the curled fists gripping the yes of the world, the cadence of tragedy, the yes of night shepherding shadows closer to home. Yes, the moon, the bright unending.

When @Cirilla arrived at her side, things felt better. Aurelia found herself able to breathe again, to focus; and with the arrival of more and more backup, her thundering heart began to ease, her eyes weren't quite so wide. And when they launched into attack, though Aurelia hung at near the back of the pride, they were victorious in bringing down the beast. Though breathless and winded, Aurelia celebrated, a wave of ease washing over her as the adrenaline slowly seeped into sheepishness. Uttered prayers and thanks to her God accompanied her winded breathlessness, glittering blue eyes peering toward her mother, as if desperate for her approval. We've been blessed today.

He'd taken down such difficult prey before, remembered the strange way that their hard skin felt between his teeth. Though they were a hard meal to get, their meat was worthwhile, and the well-muscled fat was not quite so tough underneath its skin. He returned the greeting toward @Analía, before surging into the hunt, happy to take up a majority of the brute force and using his weight to fell the beast.

And it was proven successful, to his delight. They had expended little effort in taking down the rhino and, so far as Farrow could tell, nobody had gotten injured along the way. A fight well worth it, he breathed, satisfaction curling as a toothy grin upon his lips.

Their hunt had proven successful and she had even gotten to say hello to at least one of the new members that she hadn't met before. Offering him that same radiant smile that she tried so hard to convey instead of the sad, wistful one's that were her normal. Without the fanfare of a huge celebration, the gathering took down their prey and began to carry it off where it needed to go. Analia followed whoever carried it like a spotter, ready to help hoist it back into position or clear it from debris before carrying onwards. Only once it was settled did she wander to do what she always did, -- watch for bad guys. exit analia

Cirilla had found that hunts within a pride were much easier than ones alone. @Aurelia had only really just been old enough to hunt, but Cirilla had been apprehensive about allowing her to assist with risk of injury and no quick access to a healer she could trust.

Vermeda was different. Coming alongside her daughter and jumping into the hunt that had been called throughout the pride, Cirilla trusted her instincts and allowed fate to happen. They were successful, and it did not take long for the group to bring down the prey in question.

Her sides heaved, and she took a moment to regain her breath, but the woman did not falter. Instead, she looks to her daughter, and with a gentle nuzzle, departs, eager to get on with her day.
