Outside of their fight, it might've seemed like p the two were awkwardly locked in a bloody embrace, she could feel her teeth grip his muzzle and she relished in the way his blood coated her lips, the Firnen Queen hissed and growled through her clamped jaws. He drpped his weight and she attempted to brace her hind legs, claws unsheathed so that when he landed, if it worked out, he would cause himself more damage.

She felt his claws sink further in and she couldn't help the painful cry that escaped her lips, he wrenches his muzzle from her, explicit words thrown her way before he's lunging back at her, she she jerks her head, burying her face in the ground, and feels his teeth hit the top part of her scruff, where the crown of her skull meets the edge of her neck. Her body attempts to thrash and buck him off, her hind legs still trying to push and shove him off of her.

Her gaze sweeps across the mayhem, not really sure where to look or who to help in the moment. There is so much blood, the smell of it clouding all of her senses. That is until a voice carries in the crowd towards her and @Maven. She looks like a nice friend for you at the Plains, doesn't she? I think so, too. She'll come with us. Her gaze shifts to land on @Aeistrios towering over the limp frame of @Eisa and her own face is filled with horror, shortly followed by fury. She could trail his gaze to where he pinpointed @Isla ♔ and all Capucine could think was to intervene. She had to try. The woman had shown her nothing but kindness, it was time to return that favor now. "Maven with me!" She shouts to her sister, barreling towards the man with little regard of those around them.

"You monster, you won't leave here without a few scars to show for it!" She snarls before launching herself at the man. Capucine was all teeth and claws as she moved, though as soon as she got close enough she attempted to jut her left shoulder out in an effort to collide with the bridge of the man's nose. Simultaneously her right forepaw would attempt and reach outward to hook into Aeistrios' left shoulder, a snarl erupting from her parted jaws. The adrenaline was pumping and although she wasn't sure she could take him on her own she had to try. Maven likely wouldn't be far behind, that much was certain. If Capucine failed, he'd have her sister to deal with in the aftermath.

Once her jaws successfully caught the woman's left wrist between hungry and salivating jaws, Isla would waste no time in attempting to bite down as hard as she could. She wanted to give this one something to remember her by - just like Hubert. It was when she attempted to lock her jaw and bite down harder that she felt teeth piercing through thick neck fur and into the flesh, the distinct and grisly feeling of thick muscle being punctured. The searing pain on her left only pushed the Heiress onward with her attempted bite, her right forepaw rising into the air and attempting to slap the woman directly on the left side of her face, claws unsheathed. She was attempting to hook and drag down her cheek, to cause as much damage possible in her position.

Suddenly, a shout of her name breaks through the endless din, heralding the flash of white fur that suddenly appears before Maven's eyes to snap her back to reality, and at first she thinks it's Nero, that her father has come to pull her away from this place he surely hadn't wanted her to be. But it is @Capucine's face instead that comes into focus when she blinks away the haze. "Capu..." Rarely does Maven ever indulge in the urge to shelter herself with her albino's sister's larger bulk, but she presses her shoulder back against the other instinctively now, focusing on Capucine's warmth in the chaos, using it to ground herself.

Do whatever it takes...

Yes. Yes, Maven had come to help her pridemates. She couldn't go back on that now, even if she was afraid.

She forces her eyes back open, (when had she closed them?) to survey the fray, desperately trying to make sense of it, to pick out friends from foe. But Capucine is quicker - she calls to Maven to follow as she charged headlong into the bloodshed, and the surge of protectiveness that floods Maven's system has her following without a second thought.

Whatever else, she would not let her sister get hurt.

Capucine boldly charges forwards to collide with an older lion, dark and huge, and like a shadow, Maven sweeps past her sister's pale form, claws outstretched in an attempt to rake down Aeistrios's right flank while he while he was, hopefully distracted, her neck straining as she tried to attach her fangs to his hip bone. She feels lightheaded, the thunder of heartbeat a dizzying sensation like that which she's never felt before.

She was really doing this. They were really doing this.

Her opponent bit down hard and Reah snarled in pain, clearly pissed off about the new bite wound. Her attack on the woman’s neck was successful but the Summit lioness wasted no time in attacking further. Claws hit her right cheek and blood quickly poured out of the new wound. It was a terrible feeling but Reah knew that she had to continue. Rage burned deep inside of her gut, her muscles tense and her eyes narrowed. Much like what her opponent was doing, Reah attempted to worsen the bite wound on the woman’s neck. There was so much chaos going on around her, with more calls ringing out for each of her pridemates and those who had once supported her reign. They now supported her uncle while she had recovered, and while her husband was missing. But soon. Soon she would find her way back to help her uncle at the head of the pride. She didn’t want him to shoulder the burden of leading alone with her daughter. She would support her family in any way she could. She had seen the plum bastard go for her daughter, but she was too focused on her own target to turn and go after him for it. She had many allies here as well, and a single roar pierced the air from the brown lioness when she could as she demanded someone protect her sister as she heard him stake a claim on her younger sister.

Her target stumbled backwards, and where her claws had sought to dig in deeply to the other lioness’s neck, they only grazed the surface of her skin instead. However, her teeth found purchase in their target, digging into the lioness’s cheek and a guttural snarl escaped her at drawing blood and inflicting pain on those who sought to hurt her and her family. A paw came and cuffed her across the face, but luckily she had her eyes narrowed so that the other lioness’s claws only left marks across the bridge of her nose instead of harming her eyes.

Her vision filled with red rage, Cassandra aimed to redouble her efforts to dig her claws deeply into the lioness’s neck. If her teeth were still in place on the other lioness’s cheek and she had not made an effort to move from where she had her gripped, she would also attempt to dig her teeth in even further to inflict even more damage and pain on this lioness who dared to step past the borders with ill intent.

Mateo had warred with himself about going after the rest of those from Illyria who were streaming towards Vermeda to help them against a raid from their enemies. He was ten months old and still technically a cub and he was well aware that a raid or a war were not the proper settings for a cub - even one close to becoming a yearling. His mother would not approve. Following his father might become a distraction for Jafar, who was one of many who had rushed off.

Eventually, he could no longer resist. He bounded down the mountainside, following the tracks and scents of his pridemates until he came to the Vermeda Brook borders. The sound of fighting echoed among the trees and he dove in headfirst, passing fight after fight. He reached what felt like the epicenter just in time to hear a big purple man, standing over a fallen girl and looking over at the heir to the Summit. A low growl rumbled in his chest. How dare he think he could take their heiress from them?

Ready to throw himself against a man that he would be almost as big as in the future, he began to step forward, but before he could go much farther a pale girl just a little older than him rushed the man, bellowing for another to join her as she went for his front. Immediately, a darker shape followed, going for his right flank. Not willing to let them fight the giant of a man alone (the second girl was quite small compared to her larger sister), Mateo aimed for the plum man's left flank, which was facing him.

He raced forward, his tall form picking up speed quickly thanks to his lanky body, and aimed to slam into Aeistrios' left side, trying to fling his left leg over the lower half of the man's back and hook his claws into flesh to hang on, leaving his right paw on the ground. He had never fought before, outside of some training from Jafar, so he was running completely on instinct.

There is a moment of triumph to be felt as claws find their mark and manage to give him the leverage needed to sink his teeth into the meaty flesh of the back end.

He had little time to enjoy his victory between the jerky movements of Parvati as they tried to escape- and not to mention the fangs that now dug deep into the tender flesh of his own right hind limb. Pain seared through the limb and seized his immediate attention.

Immediately he released with his teeth, but not without an attempt to tear flesh in the process, to give the assaulting lioness a look over at his backside. He intended to try to dig his claws deeper still in the rump up his original target despite her attempts to lurch free (and the impact of who he assumed was there to help him). If she did manage, he at least wanted to cause as much injury as he could manage.

At the same time, he would attempt to use his strength and weight to 'throw' his rump to the right so that he may possibly bring her closer to his front his side if she had chosen to remain attached. ( in a ( manner with just slightly more curve.)

She had moved to challenge him, knowing that she could not win but that by just admitting defeat, she was nothing more than a coward. So she had fought.

The teeth that snagged into her neck, with the thrashing movement of his head made agony sing down every fiber of her body and soul. She never saw the paw aiming for her- as a crack across her head made her body stiffen, crumple and jerk as her brain fought to figure out what was going on. Eisa never had a chance to truly realize what had happened, before oblivion claimed her.

The claws of the woman were attacking his underside, but by pushing himself down on her, she couldn't pedal fast enough. the cry of pain she made when his claws sunk deeper into her shoulder sent a ripple of satisfaction through him. Shit, she turned her head away, and he had her scruff. Well, fine, so be it. With a growling grunt, he lifted off her in a quick side jump to come behind her. Refusing to release his hold on her scruff, he ATTEMPTED to forcefully drag her backward with him to strain her neck. Meanwhile, the paw that had been on her shoulder would pull when he moved, ATTEMPTING severe lacerations to the shoulder. His body ached, and his chest was heaving with heavy breaths. His undersides hurt, but he didn't know the extent of the damage yet. That would be inspected later on. Right now, he was doing his duty as a Royal and Vermeda native. This was his home.
