[OOC: Vague on pride as the thread hasn't finished yet.]

She moved through the lands of Amaryllis in silence. There was something about the way the sun had risen this morning that drew her towards the center of the valley. The red giant had taken the same care she had the last few days to ensure that the only scent remaining on her hide was that of her own musk - and whatever grass she'd rolled in to dry off after her bath.

There was no need to bring attention to the pride she'd chosen until she was mroe familiar with how things in this land worked.. Who was allied and who wasn't. It was something you could be told time and time again, but until you suss out for yourself the truth - that made it difficult to simply take others at their word.

She crested a large basin, standing, looking down into the bowl and found her gaze lifted towards the hazy sunrise. It was warming - and the cooler spring nights often left a fog hovering just over the ground.. Stepping into the basin, the red woman would part her jaws and call to anyone really. After all - she was here to get a feel for this land.. and what better way than by having a kerfluffle with another?

A friendly kerfluffle, of course.. She didn't want to get too weakened before she knew what was going on in this valley. But to keep her claws sharp and her skills tested against the citizens of this land? Oh, certainly.

Khadija was ready for more training in the art of combat. And for that she knew the Pit might be the best place to find potential sparring partners, as the place itself was made for such practices. Better to use it on it's fullest right? And thus the abyss girl arrived to the arena, eyes of purple searching for a good spot to be, but as if life had heard her wishes, she spotted a large woman already there, and by the calls she made, she guessed she too had a desire for a spar. One she hoped would stay friendly and out of serious damage. She too couldn't afford injuries. Those wouldn't let her be of use for her pride right?

She approached and stands before the red woman. "Greetings miss, I do seek a fight to practice my skills. I am but a novice in fighting but I wish to get better. I will like to spar you if you will have me of course." She gets into a fighting stance.

The dark one that arrived looked young, but Kireena wasn't one to judge. If another wanted to hone their skills, then she would let them - how else was one supposed to learn, after all? The red woman would nod her skull, a smile touching her lips. "It would appear we are here for the same thing, then."

The older woman gestured with a paw towards the other before settling it back on the ground and adjusting her own stance. "Take the first move." She felt it only fair given the other was younger than she..Though she supposed that she could have played the game of "teach them what it is to fight in the real world" - she wasn't going to, however.

Khadija nods to the older woman's desire to give her the first move. Starting fights was currently her strongest point; reacting to them was harder. But she knew she needed to master it if she wanted to protect her pride in a better way. Eyes of Lilac turns to the larger female and is ready. She considers her options first; she always assumed that those who were scars and years ahead of her would hold much more experience and skill than she did, so she couldn't underestimate them.

Finally, she starts her attack. Since this was for practice, she would do her best to be simple and kind with her attacks. She runs to the red lioness' left, aiming to get herself perpendicular to Kireena's side, attempting to wrap her forepaws around the older woman's shoulders without having her claws out. While she aimed to bite on the middle of Kireena's shoulder plates. Aiming to get a firm grip.

The red lady waited patiently for the younger feline to make a move. When it came, she shifted just enough to get a wider stance with her front limbs, hind legs splaying and crouching - a lower center of gravity. She intended to be tough, but not completely go balls to the wall on the yearling. What would that get her but guilt?

This was for practice and teaching after all. When the other collided with her left shoulder,limbs wrapping as intended, Kireena exhaled as she often did to prevent herself from being winded. Thought the other was not fully grown, she still packed quite the physical punch and kireena knew there would be a bruise in the morning. The feeling of fangs sinking into her shoulders was almost euphoric, but it was something she fought down. Her front left foot would lift and attempt to sweep towards the yearlings hind limbs. The other feline was on that left side, after all. It should be fairly short a distance.

Her balance would be tested here and Kireena had half a mind to put some power behind the swing, but she checked it and only swiped with about half her strength, and ensured her talons where sheathed. The red woman did pin her ears to her skull, narrowing her eyes to protect the orbs from damage either intentional or unintentional.

Her initial move was successful, allowing her to have her forepaws and jaws hold onto the adult's shoulders. But because of her inexperience, she didn't see Kireena's next actions. Seeing how her opponent's massive front paw collided against her hind legs, the blow wasn't strong enough to cause damage, but it was enough to threaten her balance. She hasn't prepared adequately to receive the blow, which could produce soreness and bruising on her paws. Trying to ignore the discomfort, she attempted to remove her front paws off Kireene's shoulders so she could place them under her to stop herself from falling completely. Right after she quickly aimed to regain her balance, for then she attempting to repeat her previous tactic of wrapping her forepaws around Kireena's shoulders. She pinned her ears like the others did, wanting to mimic her actions.

The younger lioness steadied herself and Kireena attempted to take that chance to adjust her footing and shift her balance just slightly so she would be prepared for the next onslaught. When Khadija launched again to wrap around her shoulders, the red woman let her - knowing that she might end up in a loss for her - but it was just a spar right? When the girl wrapped her front legs around Kireena's shoulders again, the red woman attempted to step into her. She tried to use her body weight, led by her left shoulder, to try to simply SHOVE into the girl.

Something she would need to learn was balance.. Center of gravity. Grappling with a larger lion was not exactly the smartest move - small lions needed to use their speed and agility to win.. brawn would get them few places. The ground, it could get them on the ground, and that is what Kireena was intending to teach the young feline. Sure - she was larger in her own right, but she still wasn't fully grown.

Khadija might lack the experience to fight any smarter than she is right now. But for the same reason she was here in the first place, that alone made her fight others, especially adults that could intentionally or not teach her through example and experience how to fight better.

She did manage to get her arms wrapped around Kireena's shoulder. But soon enough, Lhadija learned that might wasn't the best course of action, as when she tried to adjust her hold on the older woman, Kireena shoved herself at Khadija, who was caught by surprise. Making her fall into her side, feeling her right side colliding with the ground. There she aimed to stand up again, not as quickly as she would like, but there she aimed to raise her left front leg for them, attempting to slam it at Kireena's right side of the face. Keeping her claws in her sockets and applying only a subtle force, she wasn't intending to cause harm, just discomfort.

Kireena could have gone after the younger feline once she fell, but she waited - eyes remaining narrowed, lips bared to help the skin on her nose protect the fragile organs. When Khadija got back up and swiped at her face, Kireena would attempt to tuck her head as the swipe came, eyes closing and ears flattening to her skull. The impact would bruise, but as the other didn't pull her claws out - she wasn't overly worried.

The red woman would attempt to snap at Khadija's paw - aiming not for her paw, but for the space beside it. Why? Because as they fought, she was working to teach through action. Swing a paw near your opponents face - chance losing it to a bite. Kireena didn't mind if she 'lost' so to speak - this was something that would really only have one winner.. the other young lioness. Skills were being learned and she hoped that she could expand on them after this.. if the other wished of course.
