It had been a few days since the pride's failed attempt of hunting a Giraffe in the Grove and the pink Ranger needed to figure out a new strategy. After figuring out where things went wrong in the last hunt and had been scouting out a different area of the Grove, much more south than last time. As she got ready for the hunt, Raizel called out to her fellow pride mates who were open to trying another hunt before she finally crossed the borders from the Brook into the southern part of the Grove. Flicking her ears, she listened for other sounds before she got beyond the tree lines. Pink gaze looked around as she dipped down a bit into the long grass, trying to spot the potential target.

her days are not particularly exciting, but dhaveira does her best to keep herself busy. she fills her den with bits and baubles, she wanders the brook to find all the cutest spots. and today, she leaves vermeda in a hunt for some extra herbs. something to sneak to the queen as she nurses her newest litter; something to help ease the pain of motherhood. she has quite a bit already when she catches another scent on the breeze — a lioness, like herself, and she’s curious enough to follow. finding the woman is easy, even in the shaded grove, and she chuffs softly. @Raizel is not a face she’s seen before but the little pink-pelted woman smells of the brook, and that makes her family of a sort. eira offers her a warm smile, settling in near here — leaving her gathered herbs in a pile off to the side. that could wait until after the hunt — because that’s what they were doing here, right? a hunt?

Her little babies were tucked safely within the den, and so when she had heard the call from none other than @Raizel over the lands once more she would head in the direction of a call. Hopefully this hunt would be more successful than the last one she'd attended that the pink huntress had called. One could only hope. A silent prayer to Maua for good fortune in this hunt, Cassandra would approach the pink lioness with a soft chuff, spotting Revna's wife alongside the pink huntress.

A nod would be given to the pair of them as she sat back to await the hunt to be targeted and her given a target to assist with. The Queen might have young ones in the den that relied on her, but she would still count herself as a part of the pride.

9 Years / No Perks

Aquila followed along not far behind Cassandra, arriving to the hunt with a soft grumbled greeting and glance around the few lions gathered there. The older male looked tired, the kind you hid away and hoped no one saw. The tired he was sick of feeling. The loss of his daughter still stung, each day hurting more than the last as her scent faded. He needed an escape, something to do to occupy his time for just a little bit. A hunt. The chance for chase and movement, but without the full risk of a fight. Brawny shoulders rolled back and forth a bit, he waited for others to move and he would follow._{ART — CODE}

five years, no perks

He was getting good at this hunting thing. Mostly anyway. Not that he had to be considering how many of them tended to show up for every hunt. He could be mediocre at best and still have the hunts go well because there were simply enough pride members around to pick up the slack. Not that he was willing to let himself be mediocre at something that was so important to the pride, and that he had so many eyes on him for.

So he came to join the group, sticking somewhat to the outskirts not because he was shy or still felt like he didn't know where he stood with them all but just because he still wasn't the best at tracking yet and didn't want to alert their quarry to their presence.

nine years, sub-master ranger

Where there was a call for a hunt, Seraphiel went. He was well used to them now, and his sheer bulk came in handy when it came to bringing down whatever quarry they were going after that day.

The usual faces were there, along with some new ones. At least they had a lead hunter to take up the mantle. He had no idea where their previous one had gone, admittedly not paying much attention to his pride mates beyond his little family. Which he should probably change. Now wasn't the time for it, though, and so he waited for the hunt to begin.

eight years, no perks

Hunting wasn't her favorite pastime, but it was a necessary thing, and the more that came to help the easier it was. She benefited from being part of the pride and having access to the cache, so she ought to contribute to it in some way. Serving as a healer (both spiritual and otherwise) for the pride was all well and good, but there was more to being part of a pride than that. Besides, she was far from the only healer within the Brook, so her contribution was somewhat limited in that regard. It wasn't like it was a long trek for her to get to the gathering point either, considering she had been tending to her garden.

Settling into her new pride the older lioness had been minding her own business when she heard the call for a hunt. Not really having anything to do she went towards the call. Keeping low she moved quickly and quietly though the forest until she spotted the others. She didn’t know them by name or anything but they all smelt like the brooks. So she moved closer giving each a polite dip of her chin before her orange eyes scanned the area around them. Searching for just what they were hunting. Ears perked as she waited for the pink one to give some sort of signal to mark the start of the hunt.

more and more lions come, each and every one smelling of the brook. mismatched eyes shoot to each of them in turn, offering a bright and gleaming smile. she might not know many of them, and certainly not by name, but they call the same place home and that makes them family after a fashion. and it is only with the power of that family that is able to bring down this creature -- large with grey-colored skin that's thicker than she expected. fortunately, they are successful today. she chirrups a happy little noise, delighting in their success, and eats her fill of the rhino once it is dead. before heading back to the brook she grabs the herbs she'd gathered before the hunt, and on her way home, her steps slow in order to grab even more.
