Guidebook Review, Part 1

As part of the first cycle of the Guidebook Review, the team has gone through and made changes to the following Guidebook categories: Discord Rules through to Pride Leadership. The remaining pages will be revamped in the second cycle - and please note that the Lore page is pending new content because Squid lost the draft she had been working on (:.

These changes are now live, and all of the applicable pages have been updated. All of the rules/guidelines/information that has been modified are now considered in place and active.

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to the GB Review Team, who this would mot have been possible without! We appreciate all of the time, energy, and thought that you contributed to this big project.

Major Changes and Old Pages

We have made a condensed list of the ‘bigger’ changes made in the review. Please still take the time to look at all the pages in full, as there are more smaller changes and streamlined adjustments. The major changes document can be viewed here!

There is also a public Google Doc folder that has copies of all of the old Guidebook pages, to allow members to refer to them if needed. That folder can be viewed here!

If, after looking through everything, you have questions or would like clarification on something, please post to this thread and a Sr.Staff member will get back to you. We will not be accepting questions related to this on Discord, as we want everything tracked and viewable in one place, for all members.

This is not a place to make more suggestions, but rather to help us make things clearer or close up any small errors that may still exist. If any small changes are made based on questions that we receive here, we will add a tracker to this post to help members keep up.

For the matriarch/patriarch award, how is "founder" being defined?

(Or phrased in another way, how are the requirements for this different than the Familial Line award, Your child has their own litter that survives past their first year of life.)

Founder is being defined as being an original member of a family that was brought on-site — i.e. ”first wave” of a new family, or similar. It is not super rigid, but is different in the sense that familial line could be earned by anyone, and Mat/Pat is specifically for new blood establishing their family!

How are single-parent litters rolled? Is it only from the 1 parent's traits, are there random traits from a fake 2nd parent?

We are still working on building this out but plan to have it be primarily the parents with maybe a little bit of randomness tossed in for some flare.

We ask that members not take things that happen on-site into the real world. This includes, but is not limited to, reaching out via another platform after being blocked on Discord, threatening, etc.

n.b. Discord sucks at communicating if you've been blocked and many members conduct art business on other platforms. It's entirely likely that someone might reach to buy art on another platform without realizing they've been blocked on Discord. If this is going to be a strict liability thing please recommend that members check for a block before initiating communication on different platforms and include instructions for how to do so (easiest and least intrusive seems to be try to react to one of their messages)

Breeding threads must be finished within 1 OOC month of the thread’s creation, and must be requested in Cub Request within 3 days of being finished.

If Maua grants your characters wisp cubs, you will have 48 hours to exit and post the official cub request.

Is it intended to be 3 days for one, 2 days for the other?

However, all hybrid characters - regardless of their sex - are born with low fertility. They are only allowed to have one litter every other IC year.

Nursemaid: • 50% chance of having one cub with a hybrid character

How do these things interact? Is the Nursemaid perk to bypass cooldowns? (I am aware the trades weren't touched in this update so may be intended to be adjusted)

Suggestion for guidebook: I've seen a lot of confusion about how the differing exp boost types works. Can we get a section under Trade System to consolidate this information?

This was answered above. Its still a work in progress but we didn't want to hold things up waiting on it.

We can look at that type of wording but this is mainly to stop people from stalking another member or sending messages outside of the main platforms we use to harm someone's mental state.

This was a mistake and they should both be the same, this will be updated

Currently, the nursemaid perk allows a chance of at least one cub vs no cubs. There is no change in the cooldown. We will be working on trades in this next round and will update if anything changes.

Yep! That is something we plan to have in place as well!

The single litter system will lean heavy on the parents genes with a slight chance of some random stuff (more if trade perks are used) and any grandparent genes will be weighed heavier than in a normal pairing to help keep the genes more inline with genetics.
